really? i dont know especialy omg for me was too bad i never like it!!.yrmw is ok bud i bored of it too quikly.. i love tgim i dance like crazy!! and wbss is very good!! actually some friends of mine hear the remixes and they are not michaels fans they told me that wbss is the best.and maybe thats why they promote wbss maybe people like it more...
 
This week the song still isn't being played and the fanbase have already bought the single, so who exactly will be buying it this week?

the fanbase hasnt already bought it. there are many who are waiting for a phyiscal release and the download release on the 4th of feb contains 3 tracks (if sony havnt changed it again) so most fans will buying it again in either download or physical form.the proper release isnt until feb 4th. i dont know why do some fans expect this to be a a huge success its a remix and nothing more with no video and i oiubt no real promo. most fans are intrested in new music
 
yeah i aint bought it coz it is not available in my country yet. ill buy on itunes and instore but i cant yet.
 
May have entered at 78 but its now at #51 on the top 100 singles chart... if im not mistake it gained 27 places in a week or less. All those who claim the fans had already bought it, it would peak at 78 and now it will disappear.. i spose now is a good time to eat your words??

idk but that was another time, when playing Michael Jackson to radio stations was akin to buying Micrsoft products for IT people today. It was automatic. entering at 78 on downloads solely and from a single source with resistance from radio stations is a pretty incredible feat, don't see the need to take away from that accomplishment. now we gotta watch for it to climb, and like said earlier, that depends on us the fans to call in and make the requests for airplay.
 
Request the song

Can I just encourage fans to request the song, I txt a request to capital tonight and they rang and put me on the air, and more importantly played The Girl Is Mine 08, the DJ even saying it's fantastic. Ok so being from Northern Ireland I sounded like a moron on the radio, but it was worth it! So please call, request or e-mail whatever station you listen to and get Michael back on the airwaves. I live in Holland and I was driving my car, put on the radio and what am I hearing.
"This is new material...Michael Jackson and Will I am, The Girl is mine" Beat begins but I reckonise its not the same version I have heard before. The beat is alike the remixversion but different, but sounds cool. I thought : "this has to be the club remix version.

So the radio's have the promosingle with the other version on it?

I'm glad someone is listening. Without the support of the fans this single won't succeed simply because hardly anybody knows it exists. The more WE get it played on the radio with our requests the more people will hear it.

I agree, just think if Mike actually had a NEW song out and it did this i think fans would be having a heart attack :lol:

Why do I never hear this on the radio?? I hear Wanna Be Starting Something all the time.. :)
 
To put 78 into perspective.

Last week Radiohead debuted at 137, this week #30
Last week Mary J Blige debuted at 166, this week #47

Thats the way it works on pre-release downloads, I expect big chart jumps soon.
 
You could be right, and I hope you are. But the difference is those songs were getting played on the radio and had promo campaigns. I haven't heard anything about TGIM apart from on the MJ fan boards.

56 on overall top songs chart (down 5 places since i last checked)
22 on pop songs chart

The Girl Is Mine was todays most requested song on Cool FM, Belfasts largest radio station. I requested it during the Top7 at 7 countdown, and the DJ said they've a new number one, & Marty it's the song you're looking for! So I was all happy and surprised
 
Now THAT's a promising sign - In Dublin atleast.

Is KISS FM a UK or USA station? I know of KIIS FM but not KISS FM
 
It's a UK dance radio station.

BTW, did anyone else get a Thriller e-mail this morning?
 
KISS FM is a UK station based in London, but is available outside london too and online of course - very popular.
