No I have never been to Germany. But my one older cousin has. And he even brought back a piece of the Berlin Wall. And he gave it to my brother. Which I think my mother still has it somewhere. And she put it in a envelope. It was a tiny piece. And on my mother's side of the family as far as I know. Is of mostly German ancestry. But I have always consider myself more Russian and Polish than German.
