Sorry if this is a re post or if someone has already answered this question but i wanted to know if MJ will in fact be touring in the US if so will it be this year?

speculations as of now,and if so it will not be this year. his london run doesnt end until febuary 2010

I'm waiting for MichaelJacksonLive.com to post it, or for Michael to say it himself. Otherwise, I am just hopeful that he will.

he will! lol he just needs to get a residency in the states. so far nyc and la don't look good for something like that and the only place i can see it at is vegas. so either he gets a good deal w/ mgm or mandalay or aeg waits tilltheir own arena is built in vegas and that's not till 2011 (when it'll be finished)

at this time mj has only agreed to do the london shows and no where else. all specualtion regarding a world tour as mentioned in articles comes from AEG and their wish list of what they would like mj to do

i dont think hes even gunna do the US.
i dont think it would be as sucessful as him going to the O2.
would be nice tho for the american fans.
btw
when was the last time he toured in america?

Obviously this is NOT an official announcement, but general (hopeful) mumblings about MJ in Vegas

NORM: Welcome mat out for Dion, Jackson
The return of Celine Dion and the revival of Michael Jackson's career were hot topics on Wednesday at a Caesars Palace event.

This much was clear when questions stopped flying: the door is wide open for both at Caesars Palace, which appears to have the inside track based on their relationships with Dion, her husband/manager Rene Angelil and Jackson.

But Caesars Palace president Gary Selesner and John Meglen, co-CEO and president of AEG Live/Concerts West, were choosing their words carefully after inviting the media to an event marking the six-year anniversary of the Colosseum.

Selesner said there is no question that Dion misses Las Vegas.
He said he met with Dion during her world tour stop in Shanghai and "she told me she misses life and performing in Las Vegas as compared to life on a long world tour. She told me someday she looks forward to returning to the life of living and performing in Las Vegas."
He added, "The door is always open for her return at Caesars Palace."
"I believe Celine and Rene would love to see it happen," Meglen said.
Concerts West, a touring arm of AEG Live oversees programming at the 4,100-seat venue where Dion had over 700 sellouts during her 41/2-year run.

Meglen suggested it was premature to discuss the possibility of Jackson committing to a headliner gig in Las Vegas. AEG has been the catalyst behind Jackson's comeback in London, where he is planning 50 concerts over the next 11 months. "We want him to see this as an option," said Meglen. "But let him get his legs underneath him and moonwalk a bit."

On another subject, Meglen said AEG remains committed to partnering with Harrah's Entertainment, the parent of Caesars Palace, on a major arena that would be built behind Bally's.
But, because of the current financial issues, "It's setting on the back burner on low."

ha in order for mj to perform at caesars, they'd have to majorly overhaul the damn venue and that's what they said, not me!

aeg wants to make max profits on their end so their venue will be done in 2011.

But aren't they also saying that because of the recession, there building plans have been put on the back burner?

Are there no other places in Vegas big enough for MJ?

mgm can hold i think 16K but im not sure, it's been awhile.

but he can still do shows there. still has the house on pal. i think.

He has not toured the U.S. since BAD, but it was due to those darn allegations. Anyways if Mike were to tour the U.S. it would be very successful, there really is no evidence that would state it otherwise. When was the last time that Michael said he would do a show in America and it did not sell out?

quickly looking around - MGM seems to be the largest with 17,000 seats - then Mandalay Bay Events Center with 12k. Caesars is about 4k, Planet Hollywood is 7k.

MGM would be the place

He needs a stadium in the US not some hotel place! He needs to be on the east coast!

in Vegas - our 'stadiums' are in our resorts - these aren't just hotels or little casinos!

how about sharing the USA - a couple concerts around the country - NY, TX, NV & CA??

Oh right.
that sucks. i think he should do it.
i just think it wouldnt be like as big as this one. in the sense of the records hes broken and stuff.
but i think he should do it. but to be honest i have a feeling he wont do it.
but i defo think he should do america, europe, japan and australia.

the xcel energy center in st. paul, mn should be the location for the midwest dates..
holds nearly 20,000 and there's not a bad seat in the house.

I agree for the most part. I wouldn't care if Mike did a few Vegas gigs but he needs to do New York City and LA in my opinion. The stadiums are bigger and he could do all of the US in like 4-5 concerts. Maybe 2-3 in NY, 2 in LA and thats it. I may be pushing it for Toronto, but I know if Michael announced a couple dates at the Rogers Center in Toronto (20,000 capacity) he would 100% sell out. I dont know if MJ will do the US, but maybe after his 50 London dates he will be more enthusiastic about touring in other countries. Once he gets that adreneline back up and loses the butterflies, I think his perspective will change and there will be other dates added for the summer and fall of 2010. Plus add in a new album, new singles, more exposure and the appetite for MJ will grow thus making the likelihood of a US tour more realistic.

Maybe MJ doesn't want to totally end any future tours of the US... so he may like to leave the option for future tours only, in the US?.. that way he can be near his kids as they grow up and lead their own lives.. maybe he doesn't want to be in the UK and other countries touring years from now. So hence the THIS IS IT for the UK and other regions? just a thought. But I think he will do something in the US soon.. its too big a market to not to.. why all those months off in oct, nov, dec???

Yes, it has been a long time since he has really toured the USA, so it may be hard for people to imagine him selling out but of course he will. Even the haters will trip over their shoelaces to get to the ticket booth.

Hey.. even in the UK when he held the press confrence most of the press didn't think he would sell 10 instantly, let alone 50! The same would happen in the US!!!!!!... people want to see MJ.. and buy his music!!!
it's just that when he don't tour or release new stuff it makes the press think he's not wanted... we NOW know differant, and the US audiences will buy tickets the same as EVERYWHERE else.. I look forward to the press freaking out at his popularity, just like they did in UK :)
They just need to lauch any new product or concerts in the US properly! Thriller 25th was no1 selling album one week last year in US, the public demand is there!

As one reporter once said after the allegations, and just before HIStory was released... "Never bet against MJ" it's SO RIGHT!!!!!!
