Why is Miley Cyrus so populated?

Keep attacking a 15 year old girl, and then complain when people attack Michael. Hypocrites.

Obviously, this is something different. Evidentially, she's trying to send a message, but she's 15 YEARS OLD. Not only is she under-age, but she's paraded for being "the perfect role model" by moms all around America.

It's the same with Jaime Lynn Spears getting pregnant... if you know you're represented as a role model, you better as hell act like one.

As for her "just being a teenager"... that's a terrible excuse. It's ridiculous because when Lindsay was just a teenager, she was a "slut, bad girl, blah blah blah"
I'm not a fan of Miley Cyrus nor am I a fan of Lindsay Lohan, but these double standards are beyond me.
 
I agree that it's wrong for a 15 to pose that way but seriously...people need to step back and realize that if a child is gonna be influenced by a celebritie's actions then there's something wrong. I'm sorry, the main "role model" in a child and teen's life should be their parent and/or older siblings...not some Mickey Mouse singer.

Britney did the same stuff at age 17 was it? I was about 13 when it all happened. I loved her but she never influenced me in any way and that's how it should be.
 
miley apologized..so, now the honus is on the editor of the magazine who is defending the magazine's position.
 
Who cares, this is no different than that old Brooke Shields ad from the late 1970s or CK from the early 1990s. A lot of what schoolgirls (and boys with the butt showing big pants) are wearing today isn't much better.

The pic doesn't show here but I already saw it, and when I did I thought it looked like one of those eerie depressing-looking portraits one would hang on their sitting room wall. :mello:

well..let's just say, if a forty year old man is hanging that on his wall, he better get arrested for child porn. it has everthing to send a message, including bed hair..which is a buzzword, these days. people throw around the word 'art' the way they throw around the word 'love', these days.

Well, obviously Miley had to apologize. What was her other option? She's a DISNEY CHANNEL star, not MTV or E!... DISNEY.
Miley was there, she knew what she was doing. She could've simply refused to take the shots. If she thinks she's old enough to be taking topless pictures, she should be old enough to make acceptable decisions for herself.

It's totally related, jumping on the bandwagon and attacking her as if you (and I mean you in general, not specifically you) have a right to, but despise when other people do it to Michael, so don't turn it into a 'it's a different issue, non-Miley related'.

Some reactions are so over the top.

instead of wasting your time looking for people who are concerned about Miley, and ignoring those who know where to place the blame...you oughta consider how powerful media sends mixed messages in a society that attacked MJ for something that clearly was not intimated. instead, you choose to attack MJ fans, more than you are concerned about Miley.

would it help if you knew that Donnie Osmond has a problem with this photoshoot? it is NOT related. if you are into helping to foster this permissive atmosphere, while paying attention to going after MJ fans, you are just adding to the problem, not the solution. it doesnt seem to concern you at all, that a supposedly responsible adult editor subjected Miley to this, and that Donny Osmond has referred to the editor as having attempted this before. you are just concerned about attacking and trying to divide MJ fans. you know what the real problem is here..but it's more enjoyable for you to go after MJ fans. it's easy to believe that you are in the camp with anybody who wants to cause problems for MJ fans. why don't you just let MJ fans steer the focus on what is important, on behalf of other MJ fans, rather than just trying to add to the many who like to persecute MJ fans.

here i am, trying to let the fans know that Miley has apologized, and she has been duped by a magazine editor, and that Disney is planning to still have her headline things as if they are unfazed...and you are just undermining my effort. you are not helping Miley, or MJ fans... you just get more joy out of persecuting MJ fans...

why don't you help me reiterate my point on behalf of Miley, instead of just liking to be negative at the expense of MJ fans, for a change.

stop trying to add to the persecutors of MJ fans, and help them see what is really going on here with this case, instead.

I, like a lot of people, do not get the popularity of this person. I did not get the popularity of Lizzie Migure/Hillary Duff. I watch the shows, they were good shows, but their music is a joke. I really like Raven Symone a lot. She had a great show, "That's So Raven" that was extremely popular on the Disney Channel. Raven was and still is an excellent role model for children and she is very grounded. She was a child star like the Olsen twins and Lindsay Lohan. Unlike those people, Raven focus on what she can do to impower herself instead of destroying herself. Now, I do believe that she was just as popular as Miley, but I doubt she was on Oprah as her character. She was on Oprah regarding the "Cosby" show.

Miley Cyrus seems to be a level headed teenager, but when I saw two rounds of suggestive pictures that she posted on her myspace that were spread on justjared.com and tmz.com, I was bothered. This is a role model that knows that she is being watched and she knows that she can't be having these pictures on her myspace. I was watching ET this past Friday and she did a photoshoot for "Vanity Fair" and there is this picture of her and she was covered and she looked like she had no clothes on. I was thinking, "is this another Britney?"

As far as her talent - she has no real significant talent. She cannot sing or dance, she has no star power. Her whole career is centered on a squeaky clean image. The media has the tendency to manipulate the public into thinking that Miley Cyrus is the ultimate teen idol who has a squeaking clean image. The whole Disney organization is questionable to begin with. They let Vanessa Hudgens keep her job after those pictures of her topless surfaced. Ashley Tisdale with the nose job, Britney Spears in general. I found out yesterday that the young lady who played Miranda from "Lizzle Miguire" was caught with meth in her car when she was stopped by police at least a month ago. I mean, I look at all situations and question the Disney coporation letting these things happen and not trying to do anything about it. I feel that Miley Cyrus, if she is not careful, will be another tragdey like Britney. Her parents seemed to make sure that does not happen, but the paps are all over her, she is doing suggestive pictures and it just reminds me of Britney.

i agree with EVERYTHING you said. i LOVE raven. she never was as popular as hanna montana though. which is sad...i think she's an amazing roll model and very funny too! and i don't give props to a lot of disney stars. i totally agree with what you've said about disney too. it's just sickening in my opinion.

hehe....i'll accept that challenge (i mean...it is my dream to be the biggest star in history....sorry michael....but i mean...you can't blame anyone for dreaming right?)....and that's exactly my point.....do better?...what has she done.....she's big because of the people who write her script...she hasn't done anything to get that far.... she's not that great of a singer....now .. she's far from the worst but still....if you hear her sing just flat out plain singing on the show..it sounds nothing like her on stage..and so much work is done on her voice for her records and for those that say "I SAW HER LIVE AND SHE WAS GOOD"....she could be lip synching..i can't prove it so i won't just say for a fact that she is...but it's been said she does....though it does make sense..because when she's not behind a mic..she just doesn't sound that good. watch the show..listen to her sing when it's just a few random lines...nothing like the recordings

you know...for some people that just throw stuff out there, it is the same thing and they are hypocrites..but most of us are just talking about her talent...people are entitled to their opinions on someone's talent...i know people that don't like michael's voice...all i can do is disagree with them...i can't get mad at their opinion..it's when they start making fun of him and teasing him in other areas....if we were on here saying that miley is a little hooker and makes her rounds with guys and she parties..that's completely wrong because that's just someone pulling something out of their butt that they can't prove....but we are just stating our opinion about her "talent"..and though i come across as mean a lot (i really don't try to..i just can't stop myself)...we are just stating our opinions....most of us here just don't understand HOW she got so darn famous....she personally didn't do anything to get there....she's a young teen that's pretty with a funny show...she is a character who has a private REAL life but then she's a celebrity too ... ooo but nobody knows it.....that excites so many young imaginitive kids. girls want to be her, young guys like her....so she's big.....it only has to do with the writers of the show, the costume and makeup artists behind the scenes..and the looks God has given her...she has done nothing on her own as an individual to get there. michael...he has his own personality...we see it, we love it...he isn't reading from a script when he tells his fans he loves them..he isn't told to tell the world to be possitive and loving he says it because he feels it....miley is handed a script to tell the kids to not give into peer pressure and to go towards their goals...blah...i'm making this really long..but my point is..there is a big difference here. we shouldn't be talking bad about ANYBODY..so THAT'S wrong..and i realize this...but we aren't being hypocrites....we're just being cruel :p

The bottom line is that Miley is apologetic for going through with the photoshoot. She did not forsee this, which means there is no way on earth that she could have agreed to it. This is NOT her fault. It's the fault of the photographer and her producers, who knowingly took advantage of a child. They should be the ones apologizing, not Miley Cyrus.

It's also really hypocritical that you're all too eager to slam her, but when people slam Michael, you act the way that Miley fans are acting. You can't have it both ways.

OMG dudes, get over it! yous are saying how inappropriate having those 'myspace' photos of her are- in her undies etc. but that is so so so normal! seriously. And her vanity fair photoshoot is stunning- ESPECIALLY the backless shot. If you find that sexual as an adult....well that's just creepy...
 
hmmm...i'm going to say goodbye now...i've had a change of heart here, not about miley...i personally still don't like her, however...i've always had a very bad attitude when it came to people i don't like...and seeing as i go around flashing myself as a christian..i can't do that anymore...so...i've said what i'm going to say, personally, i don't think she has much talent, but God brought here here for a reason right? i find her annoying and though her fame came about because of the people/things AROUND her (script writers, make-up artists, sound boards, etc.) ... she obviously has something people like.

so...try not to drive eachother crazy over her..whether you like her or not.......oh yeah..and if you don't....keep your eyes closed while going to walmart...i swear, Hanna Montana has bought out the world!! geeze.

It's normal for a fifteen year old to be posing naked in a photoshoot (mind you, something some adults would not even do) with only a thin barrier to cover her breasts?

totally normal- for a young celeb and a proper publisher. It'd be different if she was in some kinda sexual/raunchy pose, but she isn't. She looks like one of those baby cherub angels < photos of real kids that are completely naked. I see nothing wrong with that either.
