WTF? Book about Michael's death published BEFORE he died!

Not sure if this is of importance, but I wrote up a call log last night:

August 16, 2009 - (1:28AM EDT) - Called Amazon regular customer service about the date and they redirected my request to their Kindle section via form.

August 17, 2009 - (4:14PM EDT) - Called Amazon Kindle about the date change & reviews' dates. My request for further information was redirected to Marketing.

August 19, 2009 - (4:43PM EDT) - Headroom Publishing called about my request for information.

Edit: I'd really like to email Headroom again with a list of questions. Any suggestions based on the previous call?

Got a call from Headroom Publishing
randomly. I was thrown off guard by it and was only able to ask a few questions.
1:57 PM Aug 19th from TwitterFox

HEADROOM PUBLISHING are the publishers of the book mentioned on the inside cover of the book!!!

somebody with twitter needs to contact this person and ask them what they were questioned about!

:bugeyed:bugeyed:bugeyed

Yeah, sorry to burst your bubble there. It would have been a great find!

Many first edition publication dates on amazon are off or just completely wrong. For example on amazon.co.uk the publication date for Conspiracy by Aphrodite Jones is '5 September 2000'. This is a book about the 2005 trial. And it was actually first published in 2007 I think. It's nothing new that the dates are wrong and it's not a big deal. People are making conspiracy theories out of everything... ffs

I'm gonna quote my original post so people will stop ignoring it. It is NOT UNUSUAL for publishing dates on amazon to be wrong. It's something I've come across many times.

Since one reviewer said the ebook basically said nothing about the death of Michael, but was rather more of an article on the misuse of prescription drugs, don't you think it's far more likely that it was originally supposed to be some kind of essay on MJ's 1990's addiction, then when they heard of his death, they changed the title to get more attention for the book?

When someone publishes a book on Amazon they are able to specify whatever publishing date they wish--be it in the past or future. In this case, an opportunist registered that title after the news broke while indicating that it was really published beforehand in attempt of garnering more interest.

Up until the tragedy I monitored Amazon's new and upcoming products every day, and this book was never mentioned until after it happened.

People can also leave reviews for books even without having purchased or read them, which would likely explain the June 26th comment unless the author was truly able to scramble the book together so quickly after it happened (perhaps, like Halperin, he already had chapters written and just added a final chapter afterwards). I haven't done any research into it but that's what I believe, and again there was NO reference to this book on Amazon on June 24th until it was added at a later date.

Also I have to say that I didn't find that book on AMAZON on August 18th (the date of my posting here). The first time I saw it on Amazon was on 12 July (I checked my browsing HISTORY), and at that time I saw the JUNE 24th date, and I thought, WTF? but I didn't think much of it, as I was suffering too much after Michael's passing and didn't bother with what and when and how was published. I just brushed it off. But then I hit Amazon again and I just saw this book again, and having much clearer mind, I started to wonder and be suspicious. That's why I started this thread.

I am amazed at the investigation you guys are doing here. If the first reviewer could give us a bit more info, like when exactly she purchased the book, maybe she could even give us a screenshot with transaction details or something.

Also isn't it strange that around 7 months before Michael's death there were rumours circulating everywhere of Michael having a lung desease, of Michael dying, having cancer and there was even a death hoax. And then in December there was info that Michael would die in 6 months. And he actually dies! All this is too suspicious, also this Halperin guy, he just came out of nowhere introducing himself as Michael's biographer when in fact he had nothing to do with Michael and he never even met him, but it was him, who spread the death rumours. It's too much for a coincidence.

^^ I agree. Things are way too weird here. I don't know whether or not this book is proof of any wrongdoing against Michael, but I'm going to get to the bottom of this -- even if it leads to a dead end.

Oh. I don't even think I saw your original post.

I agree with your points, but let's say we find out the will is the same one Branca and McClain have presented to the media and that it was in the June 26, 2009 edition (should the book have been edited at some point). How is it that this UFO-nut got a copy before "respectable" mainstream media outlets?

I'm not saying they have to read the book to be able to comment it, but the book has to be published first, yes?

I've heard conflicting answers on this. Two Amazon customer representatives have told me it's impossible to review a book before it's published (unless you're the publisher), and a few fans have said it is possible.

Edit: Just emailed dreamer0@aol.com (the first negative reviewer who seems to actually have looked at the book) asking for a copy of the download, transaction info, etc.

I hear ya. I was saying something similar myself in that the book may have been written and just quickly tweaked and updated as soon as news of MJ's death broke.

Still, I find that review from the 26th a little odd. Ok, so it's not impossible being that it was an Ebook that that person could have purchased it and within an hour say, had read it and then jumped straight on to review, but it still leaves little time to have done the revisions to the book.

Also, I am curious about the will that is in the book.

Got a reply from Amazon:
Hello from Amazon.com.

I'm writing to follow up your issue regarding "The Mysterious Death of Michael
Jackson - The REAL Story (Kindle Edition) by Rob Simone (Author) .

I've checked with our records and found that the releasing date of this book is
July 24, 2009 and not June 24, 2009.

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have caused.

Thank you for your understanding and shopping at Amazon.com.

Best regards,

Obviously no mention of the review that was given on June 26th and the fact it was listed before July 24th so I've replied with this:

Hi there,

Yes I was aware of this, myself and a few others have screenshots of the date being June 24th and of a review left on June 26th(a day after Michael passed away)

So how come it was even listed on there then, before he died...? and how come a review was left?

Please reply as soon as you can. Many people are looking into this right now, not just me.

Regards,
........................................

Something odd going on, initially I thought it was just a prank.

PEOPLE CHECK REVIEW DATES! for god's sake! What july 24th??? How reviews go back to 26th of june if the book is published on 24 july?

If this WAS a typing error, it still would have meant that the author had to find out about mj's death AND the author had to write an 80 page book AND the author would have to upload it AND the author would have to let amazon verify it and check through the WHOLE book AND somebody would have to read all 80 pages and left a review all within 14 hours... In my book thats impossible

What does everybody else think?

I'm making this just so that everybody involved understands without having to look through the whole thread again.

Timeline of events:

(All times GMT)

16-08-2009, 01:31 PM Book on Amazon found by 'micah' with incorrect date

16-08-2009, 04:53 PM Amazon review written on 26th June found by 'Angela MJJ'. (proves that 80 page book was published impossibly early)

17-08-2009, 12:58 AM 'myfavouritewintercoat' spots that the publish date on Amazon has been changed from 24th of June to 24th of July. However, the reviews' dates stayed the same (before 24th July).

17-08-2009, 10:04 PM 'Rawr' requests screenshots of reviews and especially the original date.

18-08-2009, 10:58 AM I, 'LukeNo.1MJFan!' uploaded pictures of two important amazon reviews.

18-08-2009, 01:22 PM I, 'LukeNo.1MJFan!' managed to find a very complicated way to get an original using a cache tool and remove the the colours on the highlighted words to get the original amazon page with the original date. I then took a screenshot.

18-08-2009, 02:39 PM 'myfavouritewintercoat' emails amazon asking them to investigate.

18-08-2009, 05:22 PM 'Starlight' writes to first Amazon reviewer.

18-08-2009, 09:16 PM I, 'LukeNo.1MJFan!' discovered a 12 page preview of the book. It mentioned the author's relationship with Uri Geller and MJ's "drug addiction".

Yesterday, 10:53 AM 'Rawr' spotted that the first review was writen on Jun 26, 2009 3:44 PM PDT, which gave the author even LESS time to write 80 pages.

Yesterday, 11:24 AM I, 'LukeNo.1MJFan' posted the author's contact details.

Sorry, i can't remember the rest

RAWR'S CALL LOG:

Wow, great work :).
It has to be a prank though, I mean what conspirator in his right mind blunders this big, risking to draw attention on him? It doesn't make sense if we assume it's a legitimate 'book'.
Maybe we can get the person that wrote the review to share the book, since he/she herself says don't waste your money. I have a Kindle but I can't buy it bc I'm not in the States at the moment ( plus I don't want to give money to these ppl). But if whoever reviewed it still has it ans is willing to share, you can easily email the file and transfer it onto another Kindle.
Just throwing it out there.

Well, if a book is digital, the 'publish' date automatically gets released from the properties and can't be edited before release. If it is a REAL book, the 'publish' date can be edited when it is released.
So basically, you can fake the publish date in a real book, but you can't on amazon in a digital book because it is automatically in the properties of the file.

So, the REAL June date was shown on amazon, and the author wasn't happy that his secret was out, so he changed it to a July date to cover up the fact that it was published before MJ died.

Has anybody seen the James Bond film "Tomorrow Never Dies"?

It is about a news company who "makes" the news. So they release news stories and books all about someone's death, and then they go and kill them tomorrow. Because of the fact that they release the news first before anyone else, they make lots of money because people want to know the truth and they buy their stories and books.

Sound familiar?

Maybe this is what this book is. Perhaps the author was in on the plan to kill MJ and then he wrote a book early because he knew everybody wanted to know the truth about his death so they would buy his book and therefore he got lots of sales/money. So basically he "made" the news.

their reply makes things become even more weird.
if the was published on July 24, 2009 ,then how come ALL THE 5 REVIEWS ARE MADE BEFORE July 24, 2009 ???

Amen! I wonder do we hire a private investigator or go to police? LOL I think police is cheaper :)

This is INSANE!

Has anyone bought the book yet? I'm wondering, if it's about "Michael's death," are any of the details accurate in terms of what's been reported? Or, does the author say that Michael died of some illness, or something like that? Is the will an illustration in the book? The will wasn't made public until July first.

OK, what about this? Maybe this dude believed Ian Halperin's story about Michael having some weird, genetic, lung disease? (A genetic disease that mostly affects people of Scandinavian heritage? Last time I checked, Michael didn't seem Scandinavian to ME!) So if the author believed the story, maybe he wrote the book in advance, and waited for Michael to die? That's HORRIBLE, but is that why the book was published so fast? Therefore, it matters if he says HOW Michael died. And especially if he mentioned Propofol. . . . . . . If he mentioned Propofol, that seems extremely serious. Either the guy is psychic, or KNEW something. . . . .

This is too weird. I thought it was a simple typo at first, but reading this thread, I don't know what to think.

So it's true this guy is another Ian Halperin, ridiculously insane.

But it's very strange this was out one day before his death. Or maybe he believed Ian's words that Michael will die in six months and decided to write the book and six months later he publishes it........the day before Michael's death.....

With such confusions don't it make you wanna scream...

I'm waiting to hear back from Amazon again, I hope I do.

How can they tell me that it was a typo when there are reviews on there for a download book on June 26th...?!

How much does the book cost and can I read it without a kindle? Although I do think it was one of those Ian Haperin types Like some people said using MJ's death as an excuse to write something like this.

I read that some Kindles can be read on an iphone or ipod touch. Don't know if that helps.

I guess someone needs to buy the book, crop-circles notwithstanding. The key point would be, does the book mention Propofol, or suggest that he died because of some rare, genetic illness know almost exclusively to affect people of Scandinavian descent? Which Michael was NOT, as far as anyone knows.

If the book claims he died of some rare, genetic, lung-disease (which I'm pretty sure he did NOT have), then it might be a mish-mash of Halperin. If it's in line with what we know about what really happened, then the author's got some explaining to do. . .and not about anything that can be explained away by Star Trek scenarios, alien abductions, or the Twilight Zone.
