Re: News and discussion about upcoming MJ album [Update Pg15]
All that was done to pride and prejudice was added contrast, brightness & saturation to give life back to the image. Plus, it's from 35mm negatives so this is a pointless comparison anyway. here's my remaster of Wembley 1988.
Let me try to rephrase it. You
cannot remaster something, unless you got the
original source, of which the recording was recorded on. Now what you can do, is try to enhance old footage the best you can.
If the source of a recording is VHS, then there's a limit of things you can actually do i.e quality wise. Remember everytime you render out footage, it will
lose quality.
You can go ahead and give it a color-correction, adjust the levels, noise reduction & and even sharpening your footage.
BUT to do a proper
remaster of something, it will require you to be in possession of the
original source, otherwise it never be a remaster.
It's like remastering music. Unless you got the original sound recording, there's simply no way to do a proper remaster.
You see. No matter how much time spent on VHS or DVD's for that matter. The quality will never look as good, as the original recording.
It will only just be your own enhancement, from which ever source you got to work with.
I was just messin' around.
