Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

After the 100th time APWNN sounds like Billie Jean now that Rumbling Bass and the Synth Riffs it has that structure of Billie Jean crazy how a song can have different identities (i'm listening to it non stop from 5AM this morning)

I am surprised it hasn't leaked yet as well. Almost unheard of these days!

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

My top 4 (and this is an honest opinion):

* Loving You
* Chicago
* Love Never Felt So Good
* A Place With No Name

There are some points in various productions that i prefer over other's, it is difficult to split them though. Xscape is a fabulous album.

I've ordered it from amazon (DE) - the confirmation mail says it will probably arrive on Friday. So don't worry perhaps your copy will arrive on time too.:)

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

As i've only heard LNFSG, i'll make my list by what I THINK will be best to my taste.
Based on what i've read so far from all of your reviews:

-Chicago
-A Place With No Name
-Loving You

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

Anybody else think the adlibs on Loving You, sound similar to MJ's adlibs on 2300 Jackson Street ?

Michael Jackson is one of the most beloved entertainers and profoundly influential artists of all-time. He was also a dedicated philanthropist and an astute business professional. To date Jackson has sold 1 billion records worldwide, released 13 No.1 singles and became one of a handful of artists to be inducted twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Guinness Book of World Records recognized Jackson as the Most Successful Entertainer of All Time and “Thriller” as the Biggest Selling Album of All Time. Jackson won 17 Grammy Awards including 8 in one year, a record in itself, and received 26 American Music Awards, including the Artist of the Century Award. Jackson defined the art form of music video with such ground-breaking short films as “Billie Jean,” “Beat It” and the classic “Thriller,” which in 2009 became the first and only music video inducted into the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress. In his short films “Black or White”, “They Don’t Care About Us”, “Bad and “Smooth Criminal” and others, Jackson set an aesthetic standard for video production that remains unsurpassed even today. The Estate of Michael Jackson and Cirque du Soleil have produced two top shows: Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour is the #9 top grossing tour of all time; and MICHAEL JACKSON ONE, a new permanent show at Mandalay Bay Las Vegas, which is breaking box office records and receiving critical raves. Jackson’s sound, style and dance moves continue to inspire today’s performers and new generations of fans worldwide continue to discover his artistry.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

totally agree. while id like to like the new remixes so i can listen to them more than once in the scheme of things its just nice to hear mjs vocals as the remixes arent his work. im not a fan of timberland etc im a mj fan so i dont expect to like them as its not mjs work. was hoping for stargate to do some neyo esque type of sound but as rick said is that all they can come up with. vocals are great though

I've only listened to LNFSG so far, but I'm not even worried about whether the remixes are any good or not. If they are, great. If not, well it's not Michael's fault. He had literally nothing to do with them. This isn't really his album. It's his voice with producers putting their own instrumentals behind it without his input and releasing it without his blessing (obviously). Because we are getting the versions that Michael last worked on, I'm not fussed whether the remixes suck or are good. The reason I won't get into too many serious discussions about the remixes is because I don't take them very seriously. So I'll say thank you to the estate for giving us the originals.
