Just wondering because it seems at times that a lot of MJ fans couldn't seem to care less about the music he made when he was with his brothers. I think that's too bad because he's recorded some great material with them and given some of his best performances when he was with his brothers. People have the right to like what they want though but i'm curious to know.

It seems like in this section The J5/Jacksons threads that focus on their music and especially performances don't get much love. The only threads that seem to do well in this section are the ones about Janet. That's cool, I really like Janet, but wish there was more J5/Jacksons discussion. When I have posted threads about J5/Jacksons in the past, they got like 3 responses at most lol so I gave up 'cause no one seemed too interested. I love them and would like to discuss them more but there aren't many J5/Jacksons sites, not many that are active anyway or i'd try to post about them elsewhere.

Anyhow, surely there must be some J5/Jacksons fans out there who would like to discuss them more like I do. This section could really use some more J5/Jacksons threads!

I'm a fan of the Jackson 5 & the Jacksons. I think a lot of people enjoy their music but just don't want Michael to be pressured into anything.

I am for sure, they were part of my generation musically. While I can see the desire to just see Michael, they were massively big in their time. It does hurt to see some people calling them has beens, etc. Sure, they are not as relevant as Michael at this time, but to totally dismiss the family as a whole bothers me alot.

Michael may not "need them", and many have no interest in any type of performance that includes them, but they remain a family of performers that held a significant role in the music world.

Always nice to see other J5/Jacksons fans! I adore all their music pretty much. Truly a first class group all around.

I get that. For some reason those threads that have to do with Michael's family supposedly pressuring him into doing music and shows always get attention, but the ones about their music don't. I don't get it. A lot of unfair assumptions about Michael's family and drama as far as i'm concerned. Fans should know by now that Michael does what he wants to do regardless and can't be pressured into things.

Destiny & triumph are albums I just play without skipping any songs. Actually, Blame in on the Boogie is one of my most favorite Jackson songs & it was being used in a commerical for a cell/mobile phone very recently. Did anyone else see that ad on TV?

I personally would prefer a Jacksons album or tour to a MJ solo. To me the brothers have a chemistry that isn't there with just some hired background singers or dancers.

the bros have a healthy fanbase within a lot of circles, as evident if you browse around music communities around the web.

i'm actually glad as to how their legacy has been shaped. and as much as i love their music, i'm also glad Mike went his separate way albeit to the commercial comprise of the group.

it's not that surprising that this section doesn't get as many responses on an MJ fansite since Michael's pop music is largely different to the classic soul, funk and general boogie feel of the Jacksons.

MEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! I wasn't alive when they came out, but I have uncovered some AMAZING music from those fellas, lol!!!

*sigh*, I loooove the sound that they had together:wub:

Anyway, alot of ppl, I've noticed- seem to site Dangerous or Bad, or HIStory as their fave MJ albums-which shows that they heavily favor the more 'pop' music that he's made. My favorites are OTW and Thriller, which might be why I like the J5/Jacksons stuff so much. But then again, I loooove the stuff from Bad to the present as well......so I guess IDK, lol

I think most of the people here are really young and wouldn't be aware of The Jacksons. According to average comments I see here, the other brothers are useless and have no talent and just held Mike back. The group fans tends to be older people who were around when they were releasing records. Also, they're not as likely to be playing around on a computer, lol.

Love some of their earlier work and definitely love Triumph. Then they have tons of other stuff I love scattered from the start right on up to 2300 Jackson Street as well. Songs like "I Am Love" and "Torture" I consider underrated classics. The entire Triumph album is one of the most underrated and fantastic 80's funk/R&B/pop albums.

Yeah, I see that too.

I love the Jackson 5/The jacksons too!! There music was awsome! And I prefer Michaels Soul/Funk music like OTW and Thriller more than Dangerous ect...The brothers work really well together and it would be nice for them to get back together for a performance or song (I prefer them to work with him on tour rather than his back up singers and dancers)...

PS - I am young and I love the Jackson 5/Jacksons...so its not true that young ppl don't appreciate them....but saying that most of the music I love is old funk/soul..ect so maybe I wouldn't be that representative for taste in music for my generation/.....

PS- not all young ppl

me too i love some of jackson 5 songs and i love some of the jacksons songs too sometimes i listen to them on the weekends to get my day going :D

I love the J5/Jacksons. They had real chemistry on the stage, and although i'm a late eighties kid I love the soul/funk sound in songs like 'Euphoria'. They've been hugely influential in the music world, but i think that a certain amount of their music isn't timeless like a lot, if not all, of MJ's solo material. I think that's part of the problem; it will now appeal to those with a certain taste in music and not others, whereas Michael as a solo artist appeals to a wider audience.

in the truth of all i love that best album is that Jacksons  i love this song call CAN YOU FEEL IT CAN YOU FEEL IT CAN YOU FEEL IT

I need to get myself Triumph and Destiny on CD. I heard some of the tracks from them and I really like them especially Your Ways, Walk Right Now, Heartbreak Hotel, Can You Feel It, Shake Your Body.

True to some extent, but I wasn't alive for the 'jacksons/j5 era', or the OTW and Thriller eras to be exact, lol!! I was born in 86

I was so excited when I found a bunch of Jacksons cd's at the record store a couple of years ago!! I bought them all!!!

Been a fan of ALL the Jackson Brothers from the beginning.
I grew up listening to them and it would be great to hear a new
project from them. I'd love it! :)

I love J5 & The Jacksons! I pretty love much the whole Jackson family anyways. I think it's amazing how much talent that family has.

You should get those albums! Really worth the money. "Triumph" is my favorite, but "Destiny" is great too. Hardly a bad song on either of those albums. To me, the stuff on "Triumph" is as good as "Off The Wall". Those albums showcased how much the brothers had grown as singer and songwriters though. You can't go wrong with either.

I totally agree. I don't want a whole Jacksons tour to be honest, but I'd love it if the brothers would join him on stage to perform a few songs at his upcoming 02 concerts.

Oh man, don't even get me started on "I Am Love". I could talk about and listen to that song for hours. It was really a mature sound for them. Fantastic song. Wish it wasn't so underrated. Truly one of their best.

Well thats a very nice question, I've always been a huge J5 fan since my mom stared listen to them in her time. I think whats so really good about them it's there music will live on. But Micheal of course I listen to his music when I was a baby :baby:.

I love 'The Jacksons' I have all the Epic albums, the live one and the Very best of albums. They cannot be ignored by fans as they were a important move into MJ's maturity. Absolutrely wonderful songs and production... I love Goin' Places mostly.

I do love the Jackson 5, and have the main Anthology compilations, but none of the original albums asadly... they're hard to find as a set and I can't seem to find a good remastered set of similar editions.

There were some I saw with 2 albums on one disc, but they seem out of print or very expensive still. I'll buy them at some point though am sure. I have MJ's solo albums whilst with Motown though. I love the music, just great melodies and tunes... real music.
