BREAKING NEWS - AEG Conference will be held today (6PM BST) - (Details inside)

To answer some questions, no details of the memorial are being released, probably because its still being worked through.

And no details of the actual funeral itself for good reason...its likely to be private, just the way it should be.

Thank You.

The funeral should be a private, sombre thing.

The celebration will be at the memorial.

As touching and befitting it would be, I can fully understand the need to control the masses/crowds somehow. It is midday on a working business day in downtown LA with major freeways in close proximity, few open spots, major thoroughfares running right through and around the area with businesses/corporations all around the Staples center. LA is a major city with unbelieavable traffic, public transit, etc., on any given normal day.
For the safety of all concerned, just how would the mobs be controlled? As it has now been set up, I can still envision police in riot gear needed everywhere.

I truly hope we don't see mass mayhem with injuries.

Yeah, just saw it again. They said the FEED would be free worldwide, nothing about tickets available worldwide.

Sky is saying that there's talk of big screens being put up in surrounding areas, like in big parking lots, etc, for people to watch in groups, just not right outside Staples Center. I hope so. I really hope so.

UPDATE, TO CLARIFY SOMETHING: There are NOT going to be screens in the area around Staples, period. Sky News had mentioned earlier that some people outside the lock-down zone were talking about possibly letting people hang out in their lots, but probably not. Just to clarify. Don't plan on something like that, but maybe keep your ear to the ground if you're in L.A.

yeah they obviously dont want anyone there. and L.A is gonna make enough money out of this from hotels etc being booked up ppl buying things.

some reports say mj will go to forest green hopefully until the ranch is sorted. i cant believe we are even talking about this.

AEG Live should have a one-time concerts with several impersonators as a tribute show, This Is It-style... BET Awards wasn't good of a tribute.

Yeah Im pretty certian MJ will somehow end up in Neverland, the family are working on it, the only thing stopping them really is fussy, rich neighbours in the same town that don't want fans coming who are putting equal pressure on the Mayor/Law-maker as Jermaine said, the people who have these laws can also change them.

He'lll be buried at Forrest Green first then taken i reckon. Like Elvis. They are clearly sprucing the place up (footage taken by helicopters show workers turfing the garden etc ) until they make it into a museum Its a beautiful place, i hope to visit it someday but i may break down before i pass the gates :( Itd be the closest contact ive had with michael, my childhood hero.

so they are only letting 11,000 people inside and LA doesnt want anyone else outside and no big screens?

so whoever doesnt get in is stuck.....I guess

How much people will be at Staples? They said 11000 tickets for fans, and some tickets will be given to family to give to friends and so on. Is that right?

Im glad if his body isnt there.....that should be for the family only....not for everyone else

do you speak about Neverland ?

I can understand the reasons, but I don't like the way this is being handled. Not allowing fans outside the US to come and allowing only 11,000 just sounds ridiculous. A few days ago they were talking about how hundreds of thousands will be there and now this.

Don't get me wrong, I know this is not an event meant for publicity or for breaking records. On the contrary, I have said from the beginning that I would have preferred a private ceremony only, no television involved. But since they decided to make it a memorial that will be viewed worldwide, it should at least be something big.

We know the press too well, they won't hesitate to say that "only" 11,000 people bothered to show up; and we all know many more would have wanted to be there.
That is, of course, if anyone respects their request and fans don't jam the city.

I may be worrying over trivial stuff, but this just doesn't sound right.

But in the end, it's not about me. I can only hope that Michael will be able to find his peace, both physically and spiritually.

theres another 6000 ticket for nokia theatre i believe or 6000 out of the 11 are for nokia. so even if u get a ticket u might not actually attend the service just see it on a big screen instead

^ So True. I wanted this to be big! The press will say "only 11,000 people showed up", "small crowds at Jacksons memorial"... They should of had it in a spot where millions could come celebrate

yeah the mdia will love it no one outside .L.A doesnt want anyone there at all. hopefully something proper will be done for the fans later on or i guess we will all be off to forest green in the coming months

Not about what YOU want.

What can logistically be done.

Loads of folks will be in LA

They just won't be allowed in w/o a ticket.

I'm sure CNN & other stations will stream it on big screens around LA, in NYC and so on and so forth.

I dont think that will stop fans from being outside. But I can understand not wanting it to be a circus. The Jacksons know that MJ does not only have 11,000 fans but they are trying to make it safe and also respectable.

I understand that. My thoughts were just that they should only have a private service but its not my place to make arrangements. I will make my own arrangements here in texas for myself to say goodbye since i cannot be there in california. :(

I was telling a friend of mine that us fans should have our own memorial in the future where everyone all over the world can pay tribute to Mj maybe at his final resting place......

LOL they will never be able to stop fans from coming all around the globe XD
thats hilarious.. but i can imagine that the police isnt able to cope with the whole situation.. Im curious how they gonna deal with that ^.^
