The MJJC July 13th 02 Vigil General Discussion From Page 36 [UPDATE: Post 1]

Re: The MJJC July 13th 02 Vigil General Discussion From Page 36

Hey, I went to the o2 around about half 7 yesterday and must say I was very suprised by the turn out... and to say the least the "vibe" just felt very wrong to me.
I found myself battling to get to the message board with people pushing and shoving from every direction. I also couldn't seem to find where anyone was laying candles etc until I realised that it was at the foot of the boards and many things were getting trampled and kicked around which upset me, no one seemed to have any respect.
Eventually I found a corner which I hoped wouldn't get too stomped on and lay my lantern there.
I also didn't like the way the stage had been hogged and from hearing a few things here it seemed that only a "select few" were granted access to it :/

In some ways it was nice to see many fans enjoying the festivities of it all, but when you've heard billie jean for the 3rd time in a row it does start to grate ha!

Mostly I spent my time at the side with a group of friends and various other fans who were around, Hi to Sugarbunny and Snorlax! (I was the girl with greeny/blue hair haha)

If there is to be an MJJC only event I would deffinately be in for that! I think I really do still need to get some closure as it all seems still really surreal. Also the idea of showing some of his DVD's etc would be great too aswell and being able to be in a calming more "understanding" surrounding would be great as I felt uncomfortable fully expressing my emotions up at the o2...

You're not the only one who feels like this. I have been ranting since i got back if you go back a few pages, as do many others.

Re: The MJJC July 13th 02 Vigil General Discussion From Page 36

Arh Healer 2 I see you are up late like me!
Have I got this right? You are hoping to organise a 'party' type atmos at the O2 on our King of Pop's b day?
I'd love to join you so count me in!
And yes a decent sound system would be great! :)
Can I just say, i am so familiar with that area, as used to live in SE London, and have a friend who lives in Charlton, that the O2 IS NOT a residential area!!! only office buildings surround it! That's why it's ideally placed for concerts!!! :)
Plz PM me as once posted it gets lost in a stream of loads of others and hard to trace!
Thanks! x

Is this an MJJC event?

No this is not an MJJC even this is the OTHER group. Those who fucked up on us last night.

Ah I see where you're coming from now.

Re: The MJJC July 13th 02 Vigil General Discussion From Page 36

Yep, if we can prevent this from happening again and having a night of our own that will be with R.E.S.P.E.C.T. find out what it means to me tra la la.

Then all the more power to MJJC!!!!

Yeah if it happened again that would be awful.

Great, another night of posers. The thought of it is making me sick!!

Re: The MJJC July 13th 02 Vigil General Discussion From Page 36

Ho Lovecats lovely to meet you as well :) , To the poster who heard P.Y.T how lucky were you!!! All I heards so Billie Jean and then they played....... let me think oh yeah some more Billie Jean!!!!! And a few hours later more Billie Jean, It wasnt untill we decided to go home that we saw a small group at the back had some J5 playing so we just if we could sit and listen for a while as at least it wasnt Billie Jean. Also I swear I heard the begining of HIStory and they turned it over!!!

I hope the guys with me dont mind me telling you what happened, but DCM had left a lovely framed BAD Michael Jackson picture , with her peresonal messaged at the back and it was placed IN the flowers against the fence. As we were walking to the train station later on around 12 I think? We spotted a guy holding her picture!! He had actully stolen it from the stuff that was being put down. We had to run after him, and he told us it was his!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It wasnt untill we literally had to snatch it back and tell him where to go!!

For me that summed up the type of people that were there! How can that group of people that he was with and himself justify that???

Re: The MJJC July 13th 02 Vigil General Discussion From Page 36

Yes, I couldn't believe when you told me someone stole the picture :(
I mean, HOW rude is that?!!! It had a message and my name at the back...

As you said, it really sums up the type of people that were there.
A lot of them probably only know a few Michael songs and that's about it....they never cared about the human side of Michael or anything else....
It was a disgrace!!!

:(

I keep thinking about that moment and feel so angrey, about it more and more. It really sumed up the evening at the end, just glad we found him, and didnt leave eariler or later.

It was great to meet so many amazing people though, Snorlaxx, DCM, and Sammichael made my night, so i would definatly do it again to be able to meet you guys. Also we had a chat to the guy in a really awful thriller outfit but to be honest was an amazing person and fan, I loved watching his face light up telling us and showing us the pics of when mike brought him Pizza once. That was my highlight hearing that man talk about him and that was what the night meant to me. He was a funny chap casue after that he sort of bounced off and was never seen again :)

Re: The MJJC July 13th 02 Vigil General Discussion From Page 36

Thank you guys SOO much again for actually getting my picture back from that guy that stole it! *HUGZ*

Yes, Michael was known to buy pizza for the fans....*sigh*
I remember Munich and Berlin he bought pizza for us waiting outisde...
But I can't think of that stuff now :'( too sad!

Re: The MJJC July 13th 02 Vigil General Discussion From Page 36

I hope i dont get banned for this as I cant name names as I dont know who they were....... but I found a few people in the clubhouse a bit unfriendly I suppose is the word? My friend who came along but who is not part of MJJC was approached by a drunkish girla dn asked if she was on mjjc she said no, But i love michael jackson and then was given a slurrish statment of how only she knew michael and he was her Michael, she called him Michael. A couple of times in the loo/on the way to bar i tryed to speak to fans and were just given one worded answers. I wonder how many members turned up on there own and left or didnt speak to anyone as it looked very clicky?? Maybe that was just me but ..............dont ban me for saying this please :)

Re: The MJJC July 13th 02 Vigil General Discussion From Page 36

I really enjoyed myself. Was just so nice to be with fans (well most of em were!)
Yeah, i gotta say the same tracks annoyed me after a while, as much as l love Billie Jean etc, oh and The Way You Make Me Feel!- how many times did they play that!? I still think they coulda played a wider variety, the not so obvious songs. Where was the slower songs? You are not along, earth song? They repeated them to much.
Also, that guy on the stage with the megaphone, telling people to getting off the stage was reallt starting to annoy me, people wernt listening! They spent to much time worrying about that and not enough on actually playing his songs! Grr. Oh well, i stil had a great time.

Re: The MJJC July 13th 02 Vigil General Discussion From Page 36

Guys I think we should do another event very soon but this time MJJC only, maybe somewhere like the club house or somewhere near The Dorchester or Lanesborough Hotels. :)

What do you guys think? Make it a bit more intimate, and try and bring MJJC members together more.

Agreeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Sugarbunny - what you saw with people taking stuff from the memorial actually got worse as the night went on. People claiming it would "only be put in the bin anyway". Seriously, I was disgusted. I left as soon as that crap started happening as it was really distasteful. I can't believe the tone of it all.

I really wanted to meet more people from here but it took me ages to find anyone and by the time I did there wasn't many people around, so I would like to have an MJJC meet too somewhere.

Eugh its disgusting it really is!!! I wish that Laura didnt ban me from her group ive got so much more to rant about - do you know what though I cant be bothered by her can i? we need to forget that night happened the way it did either remember the good things - which there were which was the members finally meeting, and just organise another one the way we want it, maybe there can be a suggestion thread for a date everyone cna do in a pool? And a thread for people to express what they would like to see or do?

People took stuff away from the o2? Please tell me I didn't just read that?? WTF???

Yeah I would totally love to have a 'second chance' at this so to speak. And make it how we thought it was going to be. I would like to do something on his birthday but I suppose they'll probably be there again then? If we had our own place it would be good. Plus it's bank holiday weekend which would probably be good for a lot of people to make. I'm sure I could come down whenever though, London isn't really far for me.

As for those, just leave them. I'm not even gonna waste my time thinking of them. The people I did meet were lovely so I'm happy with that. And I enjoyed reading and seeing what people left for Michael. Even though it made it all too real for me, I did like to see peoples stories and what Michael helped them through etc. People really did leave some beautiful things for him and it was moving to see and read it.

@Lorraine - yes they did. It was really awful :(

I will contact Gary tonight and see what he's got to say or thinking or doing for a MJJC event only. Hopefully somewhere a lot quieter.

or somewhere near The Dorchester or Lanesborough Hotels. :)
heck no. all the fans i know who spent days outside those hotels waiting for mj have said they will never go near those hotels ever again. its way to painful. frankly ill never go to the centre of london again if i can help it

What about Hyde Park? Thats a big open space where us guys can get together and have our own area.

What do you think?

Yeah i went to Hyde Park on monday to have lunch there. It was very nice, very relaxed atmosphere and great for fans cos its so big so we wont get in peoples way of those who aren't fans.
I didnt go to the clubhouse, because i didnt know where it was. That would be good though.
