A email I got 4 days before he passed

AEG Faces Aftermath of Singer's Death

SOURCE: All About Jazz Publicity

Things seem to be getting back to normal in the offices of AEG, the owner of both venues and the promoter behind the 50 sold-out concerts at Londons 02 Arena that Michael Jackson was prepping for before his death June 25.While AEGs VP of communications Michael Roth is fielding phone calls and emails related to Jackson, the dust had largely settled. At least until an autopsy report will determine how much money AEG will be able to recoup from its $20 million-plus investment in the tour, which would have began on Monday.
According to the original contract, the initial agreement called for the singer to do 31 shows. But once presales indicated an overwhelming response beyond the 31 perfs, Jackson said yes to more shows but no more than 50, stated Roth.
Jackson stipulated two conditions for the additional run: that AEG would rent him a country estate near London so that his children would have a retreat during the shows July-February duration, and that some arrangement would be made to have the Guinness Book of World Records to acknowledge the tours record-breaking run.
The contract between Jackson and AEG called for 10 shows in each of the months of July, August and September, with three months off before resuming in January and February. That would have been an average of 2 1/4 shows a week, said Smith.
Roth also addressed rumors that the 02s four initial shows were postponed due to Jacksons flagging health. He said the delays had to do with tour director Kenny Ortegas request for more rehearsal time. Also, Roth pointed out, AEG needed more tickets to meet the swelling demand from media and VIPs for the kick-off show, hence the delayed start date. Even beyond the 50 sold-out dates, Roth said there was still a waiting list of 200,000 people hoping to nab a seat.
Roth said that everybody from Ortega to choreographer Travis Payne attested to Jacksons fitness for the shows, and that 130 hours of rehearsal time -- on a Burbank sound stage as well as the Inglewood Forum and the Staples Center -- had been filmed. Much of it is full-on performance by Jackson and his band, not just walkthroughs. He didnt indicate how the footage would be used, nor could he speculate on a rumored Michael Jackson memorial show for the 02 venue.

That's a lot of assumptions, to say the least.

Second, if Michael Jackson beats into your head not to believe the media, and the media has been saying he's sick and frail, and you see him, do you say "Hey, you look sick and frail"?

Imagine you are granted an interview with Michael, or a chance to visit with him for an afternoon. Would you truthfully say "Hey, I'm concerned?" and risk having your meeting cut short because you're asking him about his personal business? I mean, it's easy to say that's what you'd do from the comfort of posting at home, but if you were really granted that chance, could you honestly say you'd react differently than any of those people?

I mean, judging a person from freaking TWITTER is a bit too much here.
You're right, it IS easy to say from the comfort of my home. BUT I HAVE tried, whenever I had a chance to give Michael a letter of mine.

I think this is ridiculous. That video of Michael dancing at rehersals, is NOT someone who is anorexic and skelton. Take a close look at Michael legs (upper thighs) in that video, or even pictures of Mike before he died.

I repeat look at his thighs. That is not the thighs of an anorexic or "scarily skinny" person. I have seen anorexic people and Michael wasn't aneroxic. Not from what I have seen.

Why is it that we don't believe our eyes?
I agree with this. I remember a recent pic of him out shopping or something and he had on the blue jean and loafers and a black blazer jacket. His upper thighs were dancer thick. This is way I keep saying show me a unhealthy thin michael and then a healthy one because michael has ALWAY been thin. I don't know if michael was starving himself. But michael was never a big eater. Also Lets FORGET about the dancing crew, kenny, randy p, and the fans who saw michael. Because both side have EXTREMELY different stories. Lets look at someone who has no reason to lie and that's dermot (sp?) The guy who introduced michael for the Press conference. This dude DIDN"T appear to be lying at all. He said that michael was surprising strong and had muscles. I believe him and I don't think mike is or was as fragil as ppl are making him out to be.

I'm sorry but I JUST don't believe the insurance company (and they used their own doctors) would insure a sick person. Only to pay out money (even if it only covers OD and not natural deaths). It just doesn't make sense.

I don't know what to think about all of this but it all sounds so sad (if it is true). Some ppl will see what they want to believe(ppl thinking he was too skinny). I do think that mike's passing was premature and could have been prevented. I haven't stopped thinking, its possible that someone premeditated his death.

Too late and don't know if it would have worked anyway..

Interesting. I don't know if I can take this as legitmate or not, but let me assume that this is a true account. Then I can understand what may have happened here.

If one is not receiving proper nutrition, then one can become chemically unbalanced. Add to it stress and the pressure of pressing business demands and one may not be able to sleep.

Pile on top of that, having someone artificially inducing sleep and then you begin to the see the picture of one's heart precipitously slowing where no amount of electrical stimulus would be able to shock it back.

All are responsible if they knew this and did or said nothing.

I'm sry to say.
I don't think speculating about the cause of death without the tox report will do us much good, but what you're writing here is a quite a plausible theory.

What mello1 said is true, not only plausible.
When you don't eat enough (in extreme situations such as anorexia or boulimia) you DO get trouble sleeping. Pills that might knock an elephant down, probably won't work on your system. It's that bad.

Hmm.. I remember saying myself he was way too skinny after the press conference. He may not have been anorexic. Skinny? YES. I kept asking some other fans I had daily contact with, how can he be prepared to tour when he is that skinny? Everyone knows that he would definetely loose a lot of weight while performing in London, and when he was about to begin the training? Wtf? I never dared to say it loud because we all disagree about this.. I think he was too skinny, and he should have put on some weight and made an announcement next year.. At least when he had a really healthy body who was ready for loosing some weight.

We all killed him..even though we didn't mean it.

There are people on this board that were closer to MJ and people around him then most other fans. Not saying they know everything, only that some sources are - in my opinion - encoutered as 'reliable'.

True that the MJJC staff normally doesnt want such things to come up because it might be pure speculation.
But I honestly think this is NO speculation at all. MJJC staff apparently shares my thought on this one, and I am happy that they do.

People have different ways of making conclusions of things that they see.
As far as the TII rehearsals go, we've only seen a few seconds on VIDEO and as far as I know only 5 pictures. This is not enough to draw conclusions on how he was doing. You can see him, but don't forget e.g. makeup can do a lot of things. And the first thing that came to my mind while seeing the first pics of the rehearsals was, oh god he looks so skinny.

You might not want to agree this is a right thing to keep on this board, if you do not, it's your dicision. But keep in mind that the things you might've seen from MJ, wasn't the actual thing going on. Looks can be deceiving. And I know there will be reactions 'but "looks can be deceiving" also counts for that email posted here', you are very true, but that was - again in MY personal opinion - an inside look that only a few have seen.

You are quite right. There is much here that is NOT speculation. The email that began this thread is authentic and reliable.

Some will see only what they want to see, and there is nothing to be done about that. Maybe that's what they need to do to deal with grief, but please do not interfere with those who want the truth about what happened to Michael. The "truth" is not necessarily what is reported by media, and never has been.

For those who want the thread closed, I'm sorry you are angry or upset, but some of us here still feel the need to fight to uncover the truth, just as was done during the trial. We can fight for Michael's legacy, and for truth for his children, who deserve to KNOW. So those who are angry, please don't read here if it upsets you. Gary, MJJC president, has said the thread remains open. Senior staff also want it open. We have REASONS, ok? If media see this, then fine. Much better than what is going on now, with the constant talk of drugs and addiction. Because, what if that was NOT the reason? Wouldn't you want to KNOW?

For those who are basing everything on the tox- and autopsy report.. .please don't. There is much more to the story, I'm sure. What happened during that delay before calling 911? Who REALLY hired the doctor? The AEG folks can say that Michael insisted. Michael is not here to refute that. . . . . . If drugs are found in the tox report, that does not mean that Michael willingly took them. There remains much that is unknown, but I certainly wouldn't believe ANYTHING just because I saw it on tv.

Personally, I trust fans who KNEW him, had contact with him, more than any media report. They had nothing to gain by saying what they observed. Just caring for Michael. Media gain ratings and income from presenting the most lurid story possible. That doesn't make it true.

Here is a FACT. There are conflicting reports about his well-being and health. The ones that say he was energetic, healthy, of good weight. . all come from people connected to the concerts. The reports that say he was thin and frail, come from people in his life with nothing to gain from the concerts, and who, in my opinion, expressed genuine concern. Do with that what you will, but it's FACT.

Both situations cannot be true. He was frail and thin, or he was healthy and energetic. Somebody is LYING here. Follow the money. . . . . . .follow the money in the coming days and weeks. Who cashes in?

THINK. . . .

The coroner's office denied reports that he was emaciated. We still just have to wait and find out what happened. And I agree, the stalkers from the media will be on here.

A very distubing email... the sender must have been so upset when their thoughts came true.

This is the most plausible cause of death I have seen so far. I find it hard to believe Michael was addicted to drugs (even if they were prescription) given his outlook on substances & alcohol in the past.... but perhaps that's just wishful thinking on my part.

Could you perhaps forward this email to a reputable news agency/newspaper? This thread everyone can view it, from Fox news to Daily Star. But if it went to a reputable source, then everyone would be forced to quote this source...
I don't know...just an idea...

What about La Toya & Tito? They 'sold out' to the media and didn't mention this at all. Why wouldn't they mention this? I think, at least Tito and maybe La Toya, saw him only a few weeks before.

you were trusted enough for someone to send you this e-mail, so why would you post it on a public forum?? I just dont understand you. First of all I am not blaming you for anything related to Michael,...Also reading this is very disturbing. Now the media will get a hold of this and have a freaking field day ..What where you thinking??? As if Michael wasn't torn up enough when he was here. I wish you would just close this thread.

I agree, with everything!

I have sat back and thought i havent got a clue wat is happening,so many things are being said but all i know is we have all lost our n1,no matter how it happen or what didnt happen,so so heartbreaking and deverstating and so numbing .........wat a great love we have all lost :-( x

It's quite heart breaking having read that. There's even a part of me that feels guilty for purchasing the tickets. All the fans really cared about at the time was seeing Michael LIVE, the biggest comeback in music history, our beloved Michael on centre stage again. Many of us convinced ourselves that he was fine and dandy, in good health. In hindsight all the evidence suggests otherwise. I understand and appreciate why this email was posted, it's really a wake up call for the fans however difficult it is to digest.
I agree 100%, yet how could we have known for sure? Most of us didn't know him personally, we weren't with him everyday. What else could we do except trust what HE was telling us. He was a grown man, we had to assume he knew what he was doing.

I noticed a gradual change in Michael over the past few years, but I thought it was simply because he was beginning to look older, and that I was having trouble getting used the idea... Quite frankly, I'm not crazy about what I saw in the TII pictures and video, but again, I thought it was a mixture of age, tiredness from rehearsals, possible touch ups etc., I never looked into it any further.

That being said, as a fan I've been feeling the same guilt since Michael's death, even before reading this email. Without these shows he'd still be alive.

Thank you to the fans who knew he wasn't well and reached out to him, at least you tried.

But the bottom line is, we don't know exactly what was wrong with him, nor what his thinness was caused by. This is too serious to speculate about when we don't know enough. So it's difficult to tell whether an "intervention" was actually needed, let alone would have worked.

Could you perhaps forward this email to a reputable news agency/newspaper?
A reputable news agency wouldn't usually regard a forward of an email supposedly written before MJ's death allegedly by a fan who claims to have seen him looking like a skeleton as a reliable source of information.

Neither would I for that matter.

ok, so why would the media read it here and see it as reliable either? This is what the powers that be here are suggesting will happen by keeping this thread open and visible, no?

Well, I have had anorexia myself and I still am careful with food...you never get better but you learn to live with it. I love food now and I eat but I do have to go to the gym as well just to make myself feel better.

When I was ill no one had to bush me to do 10 mile runs when I was dead tired...I had to keep doing it just to satisfy myself and prove I was good enough. I think some of the court docs said MJ had problems with eating "he wanted to have dancers body" from very early on...but I also know that being weak would not have stopped MJ doing the shows because the way your mind works...and sometimes people around you just do not want to face it because they care and simply do not know what to do except give love and support...what ever you do!

I know this time last year MJ had some serious issues with food...just look at the pictures. He was not well...I was so worried about him. I saw MJ at the O2 arena in March and I thought he looked much better...good in fact. He looked so happy and althought he started quite "tough" he ended up being all softie again:) He did not look ill at all..then I saw the footage from rehearsals and I said to my friend...MJ has no spark in his eyes..he was smiling but he was not there...just look at his face, his eyes...he was also doing the same dance routine as he did during History. He probably would remember the steps in his sleep...

I think the last place MJ wanted to be was on stage doing 50 shows...I don't know what made him do it. I seriously believe he only wanted to do 10 shows but when you get really exited you stop seeing the reality. I am sure he agreed to do the 50 shows but it could have been because he was so happy that the fans wanted to see him that he thought I will do it and he felt that he could although in reality, that might not have been a good idea. Its like when you see lots of MJ rare music items on ebay you end up spending a lot of money even though you might regret it next day...

I think Kenny and others really did care in their own way...maybe they wanted to give MJ the chance to get over from the monsters in his life, really do something creative again so he could get better...I think MJ passed away happy knowing he had done something amasing and that his fans loved him.

I'm wondering if this was the situation, if this had actually been posted earlier to allow fans to know MJ was having trouble, maybe we could have given him new motivation or encouragement to eat, rather than being kept private and nobody knew anything and it was allowed to continue, and look how it turned out, Michael is dead.

I have a major health problem and I hate eating. I even re-wrote the first line of "Food Glorious Food" to "Food horrible food, why does everyone like it?" when I was younger. Eating when you don't like eating is one of the worst feelings in the world, so I have a great idea how Michael felt having been in a similar position for all of 20 years now. It was through my friends and family that I gained the encouragement to eat, and realised how important it was, I used to be a skeleton, you could see all my bones through my skin, I am still thin but not dangerously thin anymore, and I am much healthier and I eat everyday. My point is hiding away problems and pretending everything is ok when it is not solves nothing.

I understand people think this should not have been posted because the person in the message didnt want it public, but maybe that is the wrong line of thinking. If it was public this could have been sorted and Michael could still be alive. I know this from expierience.

Those are my two cents.

I appreciate being given the opportunity to read this email. Thank you for posting it for us to see. I know your decision to make it public didn't come easy but I do understand why you felt the need to share it now. Thank you.

As heartwrenching, upsetting and sad it may be to read this, it is further proof that something was terribly wrong with our Michael and so many of the people who were invested in the TII tour did absolutely nothing to help him!

Thank You Gaz for allowing this thread to stay open!!!!!!!!!!!

The people around Michael, failed him big time!

A tabloid would eat it up though. Make it juicier first, of course. :)

ok, so why would the media read it here and see it as reliable either? This is what the powers that be here are suggesting will happen by keeping this thread open and visible, no?

There are ways of authenticating. But even if not "officially" authenticated by media, it certainly opens some questions.

And YES, media DO visit here. They always have. During the trial a lot of what was posted here in "investigative" threads found its way to media.

I'm becoming concerned about fans who seem not to want to really know what happened to Michael, and I really don't understand it. . . . . . Media reports have always been sketchy/unreliable when it came to Michael. They still are. This is an avenue worth investigating, and I hope some journalist does just that. If there is a chance this is the truth. . .and I think there IS. . .is that not much better than "Michael was a drug-addict?" I mean, seriously?

Thank you! I have no idea why some would believe tv reports rather than fans? Fans have nothing to gain by their concern over Michael. Everyone else, DOES.

but fans can make things up can't they. ive been there outside his hotel many times, where fans have lied for various reasons..

their motives this time could be that they want to be the ones to say "we told you so" or they feel guilty and want to say "we tried to help, you did nothing " .. or they want to make out they had a special bond with MJ so he told them things he didnt tell others

so i dont think we should take any fan talk as gospel

having said that, many of my MJ friends have said that these fans that came forward are reliable and should be trusted... so i am inclined to believe them  poor michael

But I know some fans were in denial as well...if you said anything about MJs health, you got banned...

This is so sad...poor baby.

Hey everybody could see Michael was very skinny we don't need this email to hear it like it's some big revelation
we could see it in paparazzi pics everywhere but nobody was jumping up and down about that but they were jumping when their tickets got canceled "oh look what Michael did to us!"
