INSIDE EDITION is hearing for the first time about Dr. Conrad Murray's possible defense strategy if he's indicted in the death of Michael Jackson.
Dr. Murray's lawyers will reportedly claim Jackson accidentally killed himself with an overdose of the powerful anesthetic Propofol.
The defense plans to claim that Jackson reset the IV that was administering the drug when Dr. Murray left him alone in his bedroom. That increased dosage then killed him.
Investigative journalist Gerald Posner reported the possible defense strategy on the Daily Beast website, saying, "The defense strategy is to say that Conrad Murray did not give Jackson a lethal dose of Propofol and as a matter of fact he was trying to wean him off his addiction."
Dr. Murray's lawyers denied that to INSIDE EDITION, and said they are still waiting for the toxicology reports. Murray has denied any wrongdoing in connection with Jackson's death.
Joe Jackson, appearing on the Today show, spoke out for the first time since his son's death was ruled a homicide.
"It tells me it was foul play done, and more to be investigated to see what really is behind all of this stuff, not just Dr. Conrad Murray," Jackson said.
Michael Jackson tributes were held around the world on his 51st birthday over the weekend. Director Spike Lee hosted a party for thousands of fans in Brooklyn.
In Paris, they celebrated in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower.
And in Mexico City, a crowd of thousands danced to "Thriller" to honor the King of Pop.
Michael Jackson's body will finally be buried this week in a private ceremony in California.
