I am not being negative. I am being very realistic. Do not attack me pls.![]()

I think so too. It's actually been a sort of welcome break for me. I've gone 5 whole days now without tears streaming down my face at least once (downright shocking - it's the first time since Jun 25th), and I think part of that is that there is no news to dwell on. But I keep feeling that any day now it will be "breaking news - dr conrad murray arrested"... and thus will begin the next chapter of the nightmare, with plenty of heartbreaking bits of news for months...

Law enforcement sources close to the ongoing investigation into Michael Jackson's death tell RadarOnline.com that the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office are "extremely likely to have a grand jury
inpaneled to seek an indictment against Dr. Conrad Murray.

“This option is being heavily weighed by the office for several reasons. The grand jury meets in secret, and no one associated with the proceedings, including witnesses can discuss anything outside of the grand jury room.
“More importantly, if Dr. Conrad Murray is indicted, there will be no preliminary hearing, and this is often done in high profile cases in Los Angeles. If an indictment is handed down, it goes straight to arraignment, and then to trial. The potential jury pool couldn't be tainted by saturated media coverage of a preliminary hearing."

If the district attorney does seek a grand jury for Dr. Murray, his lawyer, Ed Chernoff would receive a letter notifying him that a grand jury has been convened and invite Dr. Murray to testify, which he would most likely be advised not to attend.
Grand juries could indict Dr. Murray on charges from second degree murder to involuntary manslaughter, or reject charges all together, although in Los Angeles, "grand juries are known to indict ham sandwiches" the law enforcement source says.

no. it's just a group of people who meet and hear the evidence. the state presents their case, the defense can come if they want...but this is a secret one, but they will be asked if they wanna show some exculpatory evidence. if not, then the gj decides on whether or not to indict.
when u do it like that, then u don't have a prelim hearing
there's more than 12 people. there is no jury selection, it's a 'random' process.Thank you
"Indict" ~ does that mean take it to trial?
So, a group/jury of people (is that 12? people), decide whether they feel the LAPD/State have sufficient evidence to try the case is that right?
Do they have all that jury selection business first?
What happens if they decide ~ no? ... is that it, done and dusted forever?
Sorry for all the questions, just wondering how it will all work.
To be honest, I really don't mind how long it takes, so long as everyone responsible is brought to justice, I'm not expecting to see that happen though![]()
