Did MJ Find Love In The Dark (continued)

Okay, those make a bit more sense...but I don't get the Gazelle part?

Good point.
Well, if its "farewell" to the one who 'ran away' I suppose that would make sense, in a literal and poetic combination, sort of way. It sounds like he's saying, "she follows the pattern of the wind" so to speak.

but I don't get the Gazelle part?
or are you saying it doesn't sound like he's saying that?

I don't know  just trying to make it out myself

Maybe it was that earlier post about Don't Walk Away that made me think of Can't Let Her Get Away, which made me think of the rap where he says, "I had a feelin' girl was gonna stop, I got the feelin' she never gonna drop" then well ... u know ... Gazelle?

gazelle: An antelope of the genus Gazella mostly native to Africa and capable of running at high speeds for long periods
en.wiktionary.org/wiki/gazelle

maybe just another random thought/interpretation of sound LOL just what crossed my mind when I heard it

Now see in this, we most definitely differ. I find him to be positively unfair in this way. Would it be such a sin to spell something out once in awhile!?
When it comes to Michael Jackson, you're asking too much. lol! :wild:

Nothing is easy in life and is good to find difficulties. lol! :wild: In fact Michael wants us to set our brains to work and learn to think and analyze all possibilities possible. Why should it be easy? lol! :D Michael has always been a very intelligent man and an incredible creativity. He is a very meticulous man who always paid close attention to everything around you. I'm sure all this incredible creativity was extracted from the many books he read, movies he watched and so many other things. Michael's creativity has no limits and that's wonderful. So, of course he would not give it so easy for us. Why be so easy it can be more complicated? lol! :wild: If it were easy, it would be fun. I like that. Each person interpreting in a way, but we do not know the truth and what is real. What I say is that everything is hidden in the songs and all the work of Michael that he alone knows and understands. For us it is a great challenge to discover, decipher and understand all mysteries and subliminal messages from Michael. To me it seems a great game that is fun. In the case of songs, moves through the imagination. It simply is a great revolutionary genius who is always ahead of his time.

And the mysteries of Michael Jackson continue... :fortuneteller:

I don't wanna think ... I just wanna dance!:)

Nice breakdown Linda!:)

Thanks MP. And I think that the reason why he re-recorded this song for inclusion is that he found her...quite recently...or maybe it was in the 1990's when it was written...it is just too bad that he didn't see this and do something about it...she may have needed a savior herself at that time....it's too bad they didn't connect...she is one that saves lives...she could have been the one that saved him....but it was too late...It hurts me to think about this.

This right here made me flashback to the movie I watched for the millionth time last night "A Walk To Remember" and a line Landon says at the end about Jamie....."her love is like the wind, I can't see it, but I can feel it".....so powerful.

Also Patrick Swayzes beautiful song "She's Like The Wind".

Well, I still think he is not playing nice. :tease:
Awwwwwwwwwwww get in the mood of the game! lol! :wild: :punk:

Hmmmmmmmmmmm  :wild: Dance? This case is even better. :wild: So, let's all dance! lol! :dancin:And I will continue with my observations, analysis and research on off. :wild: :D

Thanks for pointing out Patrick Swayze's song and now you've got me wanting to see that movie too! :)

mmmI'm not really meaning 'wind' in the same way although I do feel that those analogies do apply to how Michael and the "you" he refers to in this song have been "feeling" eachother throughout time and at the very same time, I don't feel the song is reflective of the person he's in love with, because again, to me it sounds like a "goodbye explanation" song and I feel when he says, "we" he's referring to he and his new love.

It could even be that the person he's in love with is the one you'd mentioned from the 'Vid thread', but she's not, imho the "LITD" we've been talking about as I feel "she" is a muse of sorts - someone he exprienced a long time ago who he held in his heart, which is, I feel, why he is sending "her" this song. Does this make sense?

I get the feeling this new song is to the one who he never did establish a physical connection with, explaining to "her" why he is in love with someone else.

I'm just saying that's what it sounds like to me. That's a very sweet thing to do, if that's what he's doing.

As I understand it, there is another version of the song to include his brothers on background vocals. This one is said by fans to be a demo. I wonder if the other version will tell another "story".

Oh! So you were serious about the gazelle part. I thought you were kidding around because you couldn't quite make the word out right (which does kinda sound like gazelle, now that I've listened to it) and put Gazelle for fun. And because you capitalized it, as if it were a proper noun, I thought you were making it seem like this chick, named Gazelle, split the two lovebirds up!
 Thanks tho for reminding me, I didn't mean to make it a proper noun, was kind of half thinking of Giselle when I wrote that I guess.

But no...

Hmmm.

So you think this is a goodbye? Like getting a message to someone that is basically saying, "later days?" That doesn't feel right. I think he had a really hard time saying goodbye to others because he never wanted to hurt anyone...he would just go away or stop seeing them or something, because it was too hard saying it to them directly.
Well if you call a song "direct" :giggle: I guess I can see your point, but no ... he cared for "her" a long time at a distance so this song is saying he has a love he can FEEL.

So it seems too hash of MJ to write an "arrivederci" song in order to get a message across to some girl he knew really, truly cared about him. :(
Its not harsh, its very sweet and gentle because its first of all a song and not an e-mail :giggle: and two, it comes from Above and what's in his heart, and he's letting her know he's been healed and to me, that's an important thing because it shows that he knows she really cares about him. Hay, just looking through my own lenses is all, but that's just what I get from it.

Actually, listening to this song really makes me want to quietly pull MJ aside and say, "Can we talk enunciation?" lol.
:giggle:

Well, I agree with Lily who said that some things may just be intended to viewable by those they are "for", or something like that she said and since he made it for all the world, well ... here we are ... :)

Hahaha @ the last line in the post. It does make you wanna do that, doesn't it? I'm also baffled by the Gazelle part.

I too agree that it doesn't seem to be a 'goodbye' song, I read that interpretation on yahoo earlier this morning and it seemed strange. I still feel that way. To me, it sounds more like a song about discovery, rather than departure, but that is as far as am willing to go with any interpretation.

Ape mentioned before hearing 'your world'. I too had thought I heard that when listening to the song through the sound system, but then when I put the earphones on I couldn't hear it anymore. What I am fairly sure of hearing though is " I never thought that I would be your love, girl" not 'your lover' at 03:05/06, but then again, it could be my tired brain at work.

It's so lovely to see this lil' engine of a thread flourishing :) Keep up the good job everybody.

What are the next milestones - October 20th the video for the song and October 27th/28th the movie? I predict a flurry of activity round those dates as well, not that there will be any respire in between lol.

I actually saw a banner today in the city for the movie, right next to where I work. It was so wonderful. I took a couple of pictures, but I can't transfer them from the phone.

This has been quite an exciting day/night, hasn't it? :D

What do you mean by discovery?

Video?

What do you know about a video? :wild:

Is there a thread on it?

So what is the explanation you feel he is given "her" why he is in love with someone else based on these lyrics?

I am hearing the entire song as an "explanation" most pointedly the refrain,

It has a tone of "because" to it to me and because = explanation

[because] "I never thought that I would be your lover/love girl (whichever)"

[try and understand] "I never heard a single word about you" (you didn't call, come or write?)

[try and understand] falling in love wasn't my plan"

and he outright says numerous times, come on baby/dear please understand

I'm not seeing what's so hard about it

I guess because everyone else views it as a love song to a lover ...

*hunches shoulders* I just don't

It only says "Your" in one part, the rest it is ..whatever it is (I cant remember) will get to it later on, just short of time here.

You know...I'm starting to get it. It isn't that hard, you're right.

The LOUSE!
Why in the world are you name calling?

If you 'get' the first part you can also see it shows that he cares. That parts not hard either.

I don't hear Gazelle  I hear Giselle  like the princess from the movie "Enchanted" named Giselle.

Enchanted_071224033850782_wideweb__300x375.jpg

Maybe that is how he thought of her, as his princess, therefore using that as a "code name" to reference her? or maybe someone can verify the lyrics before our imaginations get way too far gone? I dunno. LOL

Well, it just convinces me of one thing - all guesses on that line are probably ALL off!

I have no trust in CD sleeves or Google to be fully accurate (because they have proven too often to be dead off) so I'll just have to leave it be unless they lend some real enlightement which sometimes they do, most times they're way off too for some strange reason.

Since you put it thaaat way.......it does begin to make sense. But, I still have my doubts - if that were the case shouldn't it have been ' i never heard a single word FROM not ABOUT you'?; it could very well be poetic license.

Queen g, the yahoo link was http://new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/hiphopmediatraining/225362/unreleased-michael-jackson-song-features-background-vocals-from-brothers/;_ylt=AjqB2Jsh9BzUXtKz68llOcbzvSUv

About the video - I really don't remember where I read that, but I distinctively remember the 20th as release date and people commenting what it would contain, probably footage from the movie. I'm sorry I can't be of further help.

I know!! It's about Gisselle, one of our MODERATORS!! Cough it up, Gisselle....we wanna know all about this....

Seriously, I meant gazelle, not Gazelle, and it sounds like that to me but it could just be me interpreting the sound from reading what Summer and someone was posting about the "walking away" "running away" songs and it put me in the mind that Michael is saying "I know you're gonna pick the wind to ride" = I know when you get a notion to, you're just gonna run away again (with the wind)

and the gazelle part is, "but you say you're gonna leave it for gazelle" = but I know you claim that's something you'll leave for gazelles from now on

ohhhhhhh = "but I don't believe you"

Explanation/conversation to "her" = I never heard a single word about you = you never came around, called, left messages with my guards NONE of that

Further explanation to her = Falling in love wasn't my plan (so please know that I might have waited for you had I known)

that sort of thing

ok so maybe it doesn't make sense :bugeyed  I dunno, just trying

and neither do some of the other posted imo :giggle: so hay,

maybe if we keep "playing" with it, we'll come up with the true lyrics, and maybe we might want to be careful attaching too much "meaning" to any of it if it really boils down, as some fans feel, so Sony using the only song they could legally get their hands on...but for some reason I don't altogether believe that.
Shabuya Since you put it thaaat way.......it does begin to make sense. But, I still have my doubts - if that were the case shouldn't it have been ' i never heard a single word FROM not ABOUT you'?; it could very well be poetic license.
I do feel poetic license is used a lot by Michael in much of his music. Even without it being a 'farewell' song, I don't see "I never heard a single word about you" (especially the tone he's singing it in) meaning anything about falling in love, unless you're saying "she" came out of the blue, but then he also says, "I never thought that you would be my lover/love girl" which says he also already knew her for some time = "never thought"

but anyway, still to me it sounds like a 'conversation' with someone about someone else *hunches shoulders again* LOL!

Forget it!!!! I'm changing the Gazelle part!!! Consider it done!! Its getting us too far off topic. I'll listen again and come up with something else that ALSO makes sense! (i hope lol)

It IS Giselle!

The part that is hard for me is that I'm thinking this was recorded at Paul Anka's studio in Carmel, California in 1983ish, with MJ laying down the lyrics accompanied with the piano. And so that makes me think if what you are saying is true, that this goodbye message was going to given out around maybe 1984 to "her" in a duet with Paul Anka, but never came about.

And I doubt he'd steer the lyrics that he and Paul were working on to say bye bye to some gal and would be such an obvious louse (kids) in front of Mr. Anka.

I could be wrong. It seems you feel these words were written recently and it was recorded recently by MJ 2009 and it's a fresh message to the LITD "her" he never got together with.
I absolutely do think that. Although I realize I could be wrong as two left shoes, I patently disagree with most fans who feel that this sounds like the early 80s MJ. To me it does NOT at all. It sounds like maybe 90s though with a recent retouch to his own adlib like that, "ohhhh ayyyyyyy"

edit: like those beautiful new adlibs in TGIM 2008, sounds kind of similiar too, I believe, have to listen to TGIM again to see
