June 24th Rehearsal Footage

God... and to think, he was only 5 minutes away from me, rehearsing at Staple Center....
 
the 24th July i was in london, it was the day of my concert, i had a Thriller Hospitality Package ( VIP Ticket ) wich cost me 890 Euros, it was going to be the best day of my life, and it ends of the worst day of my life:( life is so unfair, people killing other and make bad things are still in life !!! makes no sence!!
 
To think about how close he was to London is heartbreaking. Him and the kids were all packed up ready to go to London the next week. It breaks my heart thinking about it :cry:

Dude what you chatting about? He only wore the thick layers for part of the 24th, infact he only wore the Curls For Girls t-shirt and a suit jacket for much of it as well!! and thin jogging pants

Based on the clothes Orianthi and Michael are wearing I am not sure if "her moment to shine" part was filmed at the Staples Center, though. What others think?
 
I wanna see the beat it performance with the grey jacket. and the human nature performance with the gold pants.

yeah i wish that they had put dates on th screen for certain dates like that. so many times when ive been in the cinema u have an urge to stand up and say "do u all realise when this footage was taken" it would make it even more powerful if ppl knew.then again most gen public wont remeber the exact date ie the 25th so then prob wont realise the significance of a date being on the bottom of the screen. its hard to think we had footage of mj performing vertually right till the end. not just having a pic of him out shopping a couple of weeks earlier and that was the last footage/photo we had of him. he was doing his thing for us his enitre life from begining to end litterally. i dont know if in years to come we will treasure that footage or if it just makes things worse

As heartbreaking as it is to see his last night's rehearsal footage, I'm actually glad we can. We know something then of his last 12-16 hours and although it hurts, it's something very special. I treasure it, in some beautiful and terrible special way.

Regarding MJ being cold and wearing the layers... I know KF had said that. But I also thought... aren't Forum and Staples air conditioned? I mean, it's Los Angeles. Here in Europe it can be 1,000 degrees and you'd have to crawl for 300 miles to find one single blessed air conditioner, but in L.A. that's just totally normal. Wait, what am I saying... in America that's normal. You can walk into a grocery store in July and be flash-frozen in seconds. Really, does anyone know about Forum and Staples? It's a big space to keep cool and there were hot lights on, though. Just wondering.

I can vouch for this. My family sometimes go to New Orleans to visit family and friends during the midsummer. It can easily high 80s to mid 90s in one day, not including the humidity.

I remember going window shopping with my mom and I remember going from hot as hell and needing water to waking into a store and wanting my coat. The fact I was cover in sweet did not help.

Another example is that when we visit some restaurants in the summer, the place would be 65 degree Fahrenheit and we all be wearing jackets. I do not know why, but most white people like it cold.

So, it doesn't strike me as strange that Michael may had been cold on someday. Also, as far as I know only KF has said this and I take what she said says with a grain of salt.

I think about this a lot. How close everything it was. It really is so unfair.

Yeah, that's why I'm wondering. There was one woman who worked at my office and she was always freezing (and she was very thin, so I don't think it was something like hypothyroidism). Always, always cold. The rest of us were sweating and she'd complain about being cold. Drove us all nuts. We were always telling her to wear more layers then. As far as I know she's still alive and kicking, so I guess that's not in itself an omen of bad health. Still wonder about air conditioning.

I am trying to keep an open mind and not read too much into anything but I wonder when I read this quote from Michael Bearden:

"He last saw the singer the night before his death, at the end of a long day of rehearsals in an underground parking lot of Staples Center.

"There were no signs that there was anything wrong with him," he said. "In fact, he seemed to be getting stronger. He hugged me, said, 'God bless you, Bearden. I love you.' I said, 'I love you.' He said, 'See you tomorrow.'"

Do you say "he seemed to be getting stronger" about someone who is in good health?

Maybe I just worry too much.

So in that case and if my memory serves me right that would make only Earth Song, TDCAU, Shake Your Body and Black Or White being fully filmed at the Staples and Jam, Thriller, Smooth Criminal, Beat It and The Way You Make Me Feel has partial parts from the Staples and the rest of the parts and songs are from the Forum... Did I get it right?

Here's an easy way to distinguish the Forum rehearsals to the Staples rehearsals: Whenever you see sunglasses on Michael, he is at the Forum. When he's not wearing the glasses, he's at the Staples. He didn't wear glasses at all on the 23rd or the 24th.

This is a stupid question but why wasn't he wearing glasses at all on the 23 and 24? I am sorry I know it's a weird question.

You can use that term for a healthy person. You also do not know what context he was talking in. He could had meant he was getting stronger in his performances and not slowing down like people do when they are sick.

Also, it depends on the person. People have different tolerances to temperature. My mom, grandmom, and brother would complain about being cold in restaurant or when it was windy outside and my dad and I would feel perfectly fine.

It has also been known for years that Michael did not like it cold and would keep the house warm even in the summer. So, this does not strike me as particular odd. Also the leaked autopsy said he was basely healthy physically, so if they were any problems it was most likely mental and cannot be found in an examine.

Yes, I can make all those explanations too, but somehow it doesn't feel right to me. The autopsy found inflamed lungs which must have affected his ability to perform, yet no one ever mentioned that.

I fully recognize that we don't have all the information and 99.9% of what is being said is speculation. I'm just talking about my gut reaction here, based on watching the movie.

For the record, they did say the inflamed lungs effected him. It said it would had caused shortness of breath. However, Michael had breathing problems since the 80s so in all his tours he would of had the same problem.

MJ wasnt feeling cold because of the aircon..
and yes. check out the Threatened footage and count the layers...a Tshirt then the Curls shirt and a winter jacket...as far as I can recall...but the DVD will come out and you will all see..no one else around him is wearing as many layers as him..he was cold...he must have been feeling like freezing...yup with all the lights on and running up and down the stage...it doesnt take to be a medical genius to figure why...

There were people wearing layers of clothes just by looking at the TDCAU clip from the 23. There is one person in the back wearing a gray shirt with a black jacket and black gloves. Anther person is wearing this sweet shirt outfit fit with a white shirt and the jacket rolled up. Two other people are wearing shirts with jackets two; one green and another gray. The guiltier player, can't spell her name right now, wore a shirt with a leather jacket in almost all the footage I have seen of her, so Michael was not the only one wearing layer clothing. You can see the full picture if you watch the clip on Youtube and stopped it at 1:33.


Also, in Threatened he was only wearing a light black and white jackets with a black shirt, which is no more thicker than he was wearing on the 23. You also cannot really compare it to everyone else because they are in full body makeup and dress like the undead. Also, you are stated as a fact that he was cold. No one, as far know, had said this except KF.

Btw, what medical are you pointing to? Are you taking about needle marks on his arms which he was trying to cover? He could had done the same thing with just wearing a long shirt like he did on the other days. His autopsy also showed nothing physically wrong with him besides the normal signs of aging and inflamed lungs. So, I do not really know what you are hinting at.

you can cover marks with a simple long sleeve shirt..you dont need a jacket for that..
so go figure why was MJ so cold that he needed to wear jackets indoors during the heat of the LA summer..because he was that cold!

As I stated above, he was not the only one wearing multi layer clothes so I fail to see your point. You can see them all by just going to Youtube. Also, where was it every said he was cold besides from KF?

yeah itwas strange he was wearing so many layers in some footage. considering how hot and sweaty u would get doing that sort of exercise

Yeah, he was wearing just a jacket and a t-shirt on the same day, probably a few hours later than the thick clothing...

I think it might've been cold there (it's cold inside huge buildings, even in the summer). Or maybe he wanted to know how it is to dance with a heavy jacket on, as all the other dancers were performing in their costumes and his wasn't ready? Or maybe he didn't feel well at first, as some people are saying. There could be many reasons... Personally I think it was because it was cold in Staples and he was a skinny guy who didn't like to be cold, so he had to warm up before taking it all off (he did that later that night).

I find it more annoying since I gave several example of people wearing layers clothes too. They were dancing and sweating too and no one seems to mind the guiltier player wearing a leather jacket in the summer or half the people wearing sweat clothes.

I also like to point out in Janet's tribute rehearsal for Michael, she wore several layers of clothes too. Seriously, when it comes to Michael everything had to be over-analyze.
