do not underestimate the power of "cool" rock bands. These pools have a way of turning "mysteriously" against MJ often at least certainly before his death. I hope he wins this big time.

MJ bad is continously decreasing and is at 37.99% now from last weeks 40%. 2001 is at 30.9% I think and Led Zeppelin is now up to 23.5% and gaining.

I hope MJ fans would put all their votes to 1988 first and then worry about 2001 if the needs be. Right now he is too split.

Re: 100 Best Madison Square Garden Shows: Top 10 - FINAL ROUND

If it has to do with a possible release, it`s obviously easier to show the 2001 show... I wouldn`t be surprised it the 2001 show wins.. hmm.

I hope you're not suggesting that "coolness" is the only reason why Led Zeppelin is around 20%.

Oh no like I said in my earlier post. I have the video from that Led Zeppelin concert and it is one heck of a show probably much like MJ's wembley's performances in significance. What I was saying however was that, critics and other industry people have longed sided against MJ because he was "uncool" for years in US.

Look at all those polls that came from music critics in past 10-15 years MJ is no where near the top. Not because he never had any great stuff in past 15 years but because they didn't not want to get off the bandwagon and jeoperdize their reputation as "critics"...God forbid if someone were to say nice things about MJ in last 10 years. For example MTV in 96 or 97 placed "Smells like Teen spirit" over Thriller as more great of a video and got away with it something that they cannot even dream of doing now.

So they have long sided with "safe" Rock Bands. But this is a people's poll and in 2010 so the results should be different if accurate. Unless industry ppl can't resist the temptetation to step in and alter something this time too...

anyways, all of that is beside the point and we want to concentrate on voting

But technically though, Led Zep was hated by music critics in its time (and possibly even now, by some). They were never really appreciated by the critics, only by fans of their genre of music. It was only after a long while (as Robert Plant himself noted) that they have grown to be...better appreciated by the public. Possibly thanks to the fact that the older generation of critics have been replaced by new ones, who happened to be the fans of Led Zep in their earlier days.

Michael on the other hand, came out loved and admired. Just that, somewhere along the way, the media thought it would be funny to paint him in a negative light.

So, I wouldn't classify Led Zep as a "safe" rock band, because a lot of people (at least, over here) still have poor opinions on them. In fact, I was surprised to see them that high in a publicity poll.

People's poll or not though, you can't help but notice how badly biased this poll is. So even if people were to step in and fool around with the numbers, it wouldn't really matter.

well then welcome to US! Led Zeppelin are LOVED by US music critics for past 20 years at least.

that it is. However, it won't matter to you if MJ lost or won? If this thing would have happened 1 year ago MJ would be probably under Janet... no thanks to all the wannabe fans that abandoned MJ for years. But since it is in 2010 I say let MJ win by all means. Its about fuc$%n time! :)

Re: 100 Best Madison Square Garden Shows: Top 10 - FINAL ROUND

Agh, Zeppelin is sure gaining! Vote! Voted again and again :) And right... Led Zeppelin is really loved. In fact, I really like them myself. But, sorry... I saw the Bad Tour...maybe not in MSG, but just two weeks later in Denver. MJ all the way, baby!
