of course, it is good. You cant rigidly compare it to Mj's previous albums cuz it has it own way. and I've recently been addicted to listening to it. ^_^

I think Unbreakable, You Are My Life, Threatened, and Heaven Can Wait should have been released with videos I think they would have been AMAZING :woohoo: :wild:
I think if they released more songs it would have been more recognized as the amazing album it is

"You may not vote on this poll". If I could, I should vote "yes". I love it as much as (if not more than) the others.
If my English is broken, thanks to correct.

@ Ioka I may not vote on mjfranceforum too. Impossible to sign up. I try since november.

why can't you vote on this Poll ?

Following on from HIStory and the brilliant five new tracks on BOTD I thought Invincible was a letdown.

There are some moments of brilliance, but they are far and few between. There aren't enough songs solely written and produced by Michael. I get the distinct impression that Michael was uninterested in the album and relied heavily on outsider writers/producers, more so than on his previous albums.

I'm a big fan of Invincible since day one...

I can't not agree with this part.

Still think it's ace though :)

Yes, there are people think this way. But it's what THEY want, it ISN'T what MJ wanted! If he wanted stay on sound of 80s/90s he must made it on Invincible!

Of course, if there was a very good promotion for Invincible and reached the top with more musics, no one would say nothing about its quality!

Ppl say that Thriller has Billie Jean and Beat it... Bad has 5 songs on top! Dangerous has BOW... and what Invicible has? If there was a normal promotion, realizes of others songs Invicible would has more than You Rock My World!
I don't really get what you mean by Dangeorus having "BOW". It has alot more songs that are much better.

Too bad that somebody put this poll here...once again, Invincible is "invisible"...

If 4 or 5 of the songs were left off, it would be better. But as it is, no.

NO. for many reasons, I'll just say the album was over the top in every single department. It's not a bad album, but I feel MJ didn't want to do this album, he was so drawn out throughout the entire piece... and I don't know... it just lacked the umph his previous albums did. I mean lets look at his previous work:

OTW had DSTYGE

Thriller had Billie Jean

Bad had MITM

Dangerous had B&W (or WYBT)

HIStory had TDCAU (or SIM)

... What does Invincible have that stands out so much it leaves you breathless every. single. time like the songs listed above? None, It is consisted of great melodies, but nothing truly astonishing.. I still like the album though.

- "You Rock My World," I believe.
(Unbreakable is awesome too.)

Maybe there are much better songs than BOW for you... It's a taste of every person. I said just BOW because is the greatest sucess of Dangerous. .. For exemple, Dangerous is my fav album, I love each song but Whos Is It is the best to me... do you understand me now?

=)

YRMW is around the same level as scream. Awesome songs, timeless classics.. but nothing that makes you go OMFGWOW! every time you hear it.

All this talk about Invincible not being promoted well enough...I'd say the fact that it didn't sell as much as people would expect an MJ album to sell rather affects the general opinion on whether it was a good and successful album or not. It doesn't matter to me if they promoted it more or not, because I bought it and I've listened to it and...it's a good album with some really awesome songs but it just doesn't make me feel as ecstatic as his other albums ;)

I disagree...Unbreakable, Threatened, 2000 Watts, what ever happens and lost children makes me go OMFGWOW...

Nah it has been proven the album had promotional problems

Invincible has some good tracks, but the only people who think it's anywhere near as good as Mike's work in the 80's & 90's are the same people who think he looked as good during Invincible as in the 80's & 90's.

Obviously it's nothing to do with promotion. We're not asking the man in the street who's probably called Barry. We're all MJ fans sho have heard the album a million times and recognise his others are better.

It's not a terrible album, there are just no songs that come anywhere the genius of Billie Jean, Smooth Criminal, Who Is It, Off The Wall, Earth Song etc.

It doesn't make you less of a fan to prefer an album over another!

promotion not only makes you know that a new album is out !

it helps you to notice how good it is...

That's why MJ made so great videos...

Some songs would no be appreciated here so much if they didn't have the videos we know...

Bad, Jam, Smooth Criminal were helped by their videos...

it we are in love with these titles it's also because we have the videos in Mind...

some other titles like Tabloid Junkie, I can't let her get away, she drives me wild, are underrated by fans because they don't have Videos...

It's as simple as that...

A great video may enhance a good song, it doesn't turn a mediocre song into a great one.

Even if Don't Walk Away would have had a better video than Thriller or Scream it still would have been the biggest pile of tripe that MJ ever commited to record.

Conversely, Smooth Criminal, Earth Song, Jam are all oustanding aural pieces as well as visual. And songs from OTW->HIStory with no videos are still masterpieces (2 Bad, WBSS, Little Susie, Human Nature).

It's also worth noting that from the 7 singles from Thriller, only 3 had videos.

It depends on what age you are, if you became a fan of Mike's and growing up with like's of 'Off the Wall' and 'Thriller' like me, I would say no. But if your a lot younger, then I would say yes.

IMO Invincible is a superb album, but no way as good as Thriller or BAD (they're just in a different league).

I think songs like Heartbreaker, Invincible, 2000 Watts and Privacy were the albums downfall. The album would have succeeded if it featured other songs such as Break Of Dawn and Heaven Can Wait.

Human nature and wbss had mythic Live Performance....it counts !

Once again : videos and Live performances help our appreciation !

As a rule A MJ album never has more than 2 weakish songs, IMO. Invincible has. So it's not on par with the rest. But the good stuff is very good. I love this album :)

with 16 Tracks it's normal...

with 10 tracks only, it's easier to make a perfect track list

I completely agree :D
