I don't know where the photo of Michael Jackson in my signature came from.
It just myteriously popped up on the King of Pop Website. :mello:

How they say these are all from the same time even thou Michael looks clearly different. At least they are not from the same session?

I'm in heaven! Amazing.

But WHY, oh WHY hasn't the Estate contacted Bani and had these pictures for future projects!?!? Unseen, they were worth much more than what the auction house asks for them.

Michael looks breathtakingly gorgeous in the red curtain photo and the silver sequin glove shoot. I think my heart skipped a beat when I saw the photos. Despite the heavy makeup, he looks very handsome, sophisticated and sexy. In my opinion, the photo session is a successful one. The photographs show a different side of Michael. These photos are among the best photos of Michael after the HIStory era.

I can't help but wonder Perez Hilton intentionally put the Sphinx look on his tabloid site when he got a hold of these pictures. Out of four different looks, he knew damn well that the Sphinx look is the most controversial one and will not be accepted by majority of people. He succeded in generating negativities.

I agree. It was a deliberate choice by Hilton I think. These photos I love and everyone else does, the Sphinx one was the one everyone hated. Note how he only posted that one and not the others. Bless you Michael.

WOW!

Does anyone else remember the rumors from around 1999 that Micheal's album was going to be called "Secrets" and feature him on the cover with his face being hidden? With only his eyes/forhead visible... I wonder if those rumors were true or if they spawned from this picture. Evidently the full album was done in 1999 but MJ canceled it at the last minute to record new songs and that eventually became Invincible. Plus, wow I think this photo fits the title Invincible better than a close of of MJ's face.

This photo would have worked great for the new album cover, MJ's eyes never really changed, so this photo isn't dated at all. Who knows, maybe it will end up on the new cd?

I still think the spinx idea/picture is cool, I just think they decided to airbrush it too much.

What "look" is this?

Also, I really think we should make a new thread with all pictures leaked in the first post under each name. Would be much easier for people to view.

I see there are many names for each look,

Black On Red Background/ The Red Curtain
Embrodery And Sequins/ The Silver Hand
The Blue Eye/ Blue Eye (same)
The Sphinx/ Gold/ The Golden Cape

I'm currently making a collection of these, save everything I find.

Last question: Anyone know the name of the photshoot?

I do!

You know, I awlays thought that all the anticipation in 1999/2000 was much more exciting than the album itself. I still think that we've actually missed out (and MJ too) on what could have been a great journey into the new millenium.
Hopefully the new album will have some of the stuff he finished for Vince but eventually decided not to release. I think MJ waited and worked on the project just a bit too long, missing the right timing.

Damn, I'm super excited about seeing the pictures.

They probably tried out different stylizations and eventually picked what worked best (four main ones).

Arno Bani Photosession/1999?

Yeah, that's a good name, I'll use that ;)

I think the Silver Hand photo and the Red Curtain photo would make great album cover. Michael's artistic taste never fails to amaze me.

Unfortunately, Sony and now the Estate tend to play safe. Based on what they pick for This Is It's cover and the DVD boxed set's cover, it's highly unlikely that they will pick recent photo of Michael for the new album cover.

People are crazy about the Thriller Era Michael, as if they don't want Michael to mature. People want Michael to stay forever young. People are nostalgic about the past.

I hope Sony and the Estate can be more daring in picking the upcoming album's artwork.

^^^ Doubt it
Around the time this is it album was released I heard that Sony would never use a recent pix of mj cause the general public was uncomfortable with how he looked in the last years.
whatever,It's their loss.
