I suppose all you can do is hope that the prosecution do their job and use people like the Doctor who looked after Michael in 1995, rather then letting the defense use quotes from a TV interview as a basis for the defense.

Luckily public opinion didn't judge the outcome of the 2005 trial, so hopefully Murray doesn't get away with what he did based on part of what LMP says she suspected.
lets hope so,

Absolutely. LMP threw Michael under the bus with that one. What concerns me is how so many fans seem to be playing into this now, and I sincerely hope that we can see this very, VERY clearly in terms of the damage the interview caused? LMP said that the 1995 collapse was a "drug-overdose," when it clearly was NOT. That places Michael's alleged drug ABUSE as the reason why LMP left him. LMP said Michael was a "train wreck." That is exactly the defense Murray's attorneys will use.

Lisa Marie is good at that! Throwing out statements without being clear as to what she is trying to say EXACTLY.

Samething happened during the trial, when she said that she "saw things." The prosecution was about to put her on their witness list. She had to QUICKLY come out and explain what she was TRYING to say. (Remember that?)

Maybe Murray's defense will give her an opportunity to explain her comments on the witness stand! Watch how quickly she comes out to, once again, explain what she was really trying to say if that were to happen.

I'm not sure where YOU were, but Janet is on record with Ellen AND Larry King talking about opening for her brothers and how they were doing conference calls, working on ONE family member who was not on board.

Her quote: WE are still working on him!

He apparently was not in "denial" when she was having all of those conference calls.

Yeah you're right I did not see that. But is that really a reason to cut her out?

My mom told me that the interview is alright, but I found a few things I don't agree what Lisa Marie said, like she said she suspects Michael's drugged up during interview with Bas#&% and during the trial, I refuse to buy that claim, I mean I'm getting sick and people saying he's on drugs for long time, he's on drugs since after the Pepsi commerical accident, he's on drugs again while married and again after his trial ended. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! If I hear one more talk about him and drugs again, then I done listening to them. Getting sick of it.

Yeah you're right I did not see that. But is that really a reason to cut her out?
I can only speak for myself. And if somebody, whether it be friend or family, kept asking me to do something I already said I was NOT interested in, then yes, I would "probably" stop taking their calls.

No means no! How many times does a person have to say: "I'm not interested."

For ME, only once.

You are right actually. But.. I don't know we really don't have much to go on. Hopefully katherine will clarify things up.

Thank you so much for posting the videos. Just watching those clips of June 25th took me back to that day all over again. It still hits you like a knife right through your heart.

I hope where ever he is now, that he has found his happiness and most important love.

gosh I miss him

I think this interview may change the general public's opinion/idea about Michael's love life. For the first time it was made really clear he had a serious love life, a really intense one at that. I think it will change some opinions, some people tend to think he was some overgrown child without any normal grown-up needs and desires, or they may think worse. This interview will definely change views on MJ for the positive.

I am pressed to think all these people (I won't say MJ fans anymore, not sure) justifying LMP's comments are the type that defended Judas after he sold out Christ.

I hope they all use their piece of silver............wisely.

Once again he is the world's most famous drug addict thanks to the one who stated this claim but never want to go do their research enoughsaid

Yes because words like "I loved him" are blasphemy right. God forbid the woman actually says something positive.

Huh? It had already been answered in my original post. And besides what is the point? Throughout the many threads about this interview, I have yet to see you respond to those that enjoyed the interview anyway, so why nitpick my positivity? Stop doing to predictable and piggybacking off those who hated the interview and step up to those that enjoyed it.

But to explain in more detail why I enjoyed it, for once she was honest about everything thrown her way. Her loving words about MJ was great to hear. The comments about how he made her feel and how only him and her father made her feel that way brought a smile to my face. I liked the fact she owns up to her mistakes and admitted she had regrets. I enjoyed the little stories she told about their relationship and the cute things he did. What upsetted me most about the interview was Oprah continously going back to the drug talk. But overall the interview was just heartbreaking.

So bash her all you want, but your sudden quietness yesterday told me and many others, she did well enough.

I didn't watch the interview. I just read the comments from you all. Her faking niceness and kindness now does nothing for MJ. He's dead. What she did was very self-serving in my opinion and that was to free herself of guilt and to promote herself and her new album. If it makes her sleep well at night then good for her. All I know is MJ is gone and none of this matters anymore. Besides she threw him under the bus again with the 1995 drug crap, but I guess that doesn't bother you.

WOOOW. You are judging her without watching the interview? It's kinda funny cause she currently has NO ALBUM TO PROMOTE!

Seriously just watch the interview, please.

Michael Jackson was able to teach Lisa Marie that "Love is important".

Daniel. San, your signature describes perfectly
the Lisa Marie Presley period in Michael's life. Thank you.

It was strange what your daddy had to deal with,
but he dealt with it."

I was going to say the same thing. Do yourself a favour and watch it. Aside from what you think of Lisa, she told some really sweet anekdotes about Michael every fan would like to hear.

Stacy, you need to watch the interview for yourself.

1. She made a point of doing a personal interview, removed from any kind of publicity of an album to avoid stupid comments like "she did it to promote herself".

2. "Faking niceness" gets her nowhere, she explains in great detail why she is speaking with Oprah. She comes across as very genuine, in my opinion.

3. The main thing that some people are overlooking is that she admits her own faults multiple times in the interview. I'm about ONE more ridiculous post away from editing the interview into a compilation of her apologies so that some can grasp it.

4. Just watch the damn interview.

Oh boy...

The issue of her not having Michael's babies is totally misconstrued. She didn't just deny him babies, she had already had children to her previous husband and didn't want to rush into having more before she was 100% certain it was right for the relationship and herself.

You call this neutral? lol.........how about a Merriam Webster?

Here is the interview I wish we'd seen.

HYPOTHETICALLY

LMP: Now that Michael is gone, I realize how much I really loved him, and I am so SORRY for those awful things I said about him, including my "holy mother of God" remark. I am so SORRY I didn't support him during the trial. Michael was simply not capable of harming a child. I'm so sorry that when he called me in 2005, instead of saying I loved him, I said I was "indifferent." That must have hurt him, a LOT, and I'm sorry, now, that I made him cry.

Oprah: But what about the DRUGS!

LMP: Because of the upcoming criminal trial, that is not something I will speak about.

Oprah: But what about the DRUGS!

LMP: I never saw him doing drugs.

Oprah: Wasn't Michael's death identical to Elvis'?

LMP: NO, it was not. My father's death may not have been intentional, but it was a self-inflicted drug-overdose. When Michael died, he was under the care of a doctor for very real medical issues, and his doctor was present. Those deaths are completely different.

Oprah: But what about the DRUGS! Wasn't his hospitalization in 1995 due to a drug-overdose?

LMP: No, it was not.

Oprah: But what about the DRUGS!

LMP: Oprah, put a SOCK in it! Michael was a wonderful, caring, man and I was too immature to understand what marriage really was, and I didn't understand how important having children was to him. I broke a promise to him about that, and I'm sincerely sorry.

Oprah: But wasn't Michael a train-wreck?

LMP: No. He was not. Not only was he not a train-wreck, but he feared that there were people out to kill him for the ATV catalog and his estate. (names them!). Someone really does need to investigate this more deeply.

That is the interview I WISH we had seen. . . .

...

Honestly guys, if your spouse told you to either start making babies, or there's another one waiting to take your place.. What would YOU do?

Oh and one final thing, LMP has the right to ask for special attention cause she was .. you know.. his wife :S

With all due respect I do not believe he said that to her, something like make me babies or I go to another. Their marriage lasted almost 2 years.... He didn't start putting like that conditions. I bet it was a fight toward the end of the marriage.

Is not like Mike came with that since the start. Lisa would have refused him on the spot, there would have been absolutely no marriage at all.

Of course he didn't say it like that. But LMP already knew about Debbie during their marriage. She basically said that's what made her feel "disposable" to MJ. She felt like she was being pressured to having children.

He didn't say it like the way I put it of course, but that's how she felt. My way or the highway.

You can't be serious with this post. You did not watch the interview, and instead choose to judge Lisa on what people are saying?

Did you do the same with Michael? Judge him based on what others said about him, instead of hearing what he had to say?

Toward the end of marriage, when they use to fight like crazy. The marriage was a wreck anyway, and she was the one that push it harder into the cliffs.........

I admit Mike was not cavalier saying those, but do we know in what context? She is telling us only bits, the ones that she chooses to. What if was big, big fight and them yelling to each other insults, and then in middle of that Mike throw the menace that he would go to Debbie to ask her to carry child?

And what response Lisa gave? 'Go and do it!' Actually, in Taraborelli book that fight is accounted, Lisa dared him to do it, but instead thinking nah, he wont do it...

well I've read enough from the board to know that this wasn't a good interview. I still don't understand why it was even necessary to be honest. It was all very attention seeking in my opinion.

You should watch it before forming an opinion. Don't know why people feel the need to take sides. It's not Michael Jackson vs. The World. Like all relationships, there's two sides. Sadly, many of you are too full of vitriol and hate to see outside your MJ shaped box.

It's one sided to believe she has the right to wait til she was ready to have children?

I take it you're female, I thought this part of the interview would be the easiest to grasp and understand, almost to the point it would fly under a LMP hater radar?

I just used that quote to show your so called "neutrality" What was important to me about this interview was her responses to the child molestation and drug addiction, not the children or marriage issue. UNLIKE many people here, I didn't need to hear LMP talk about Michael and her relationship with him to know that he was "human" and "capable of loving and having a normal relationship.

If you're going to harp on the part where she talks about bearing Michael's children (and somehow flipping this around to a negative/selfish quote) watch clip number 2, at around the 12 minute mark where she says:

Oprah: So was there a lot of pressure for you to have a baby?

LMP: Yes umm, there was quite a bit I mean he was..

Oprah: From the time you got married?

LMP: mmhmm..

LMP: There was, and I did want to, I just wanted to make sure I was, I was looking into the future and I was thinking, I didn't ever want to get into a custody battle with him... I dont want to do this, I dont want to go head to head with him, so I need to make sure that everything around is good I know, i've had children, i knew bringing children into certain circumstances you have to make sure everything is safe and secured and okay, and I wanted to make sure that he and I were really, really united because we were going to be up against so much.

This then led onto the Debbie Rowe saga, and how Michael would tell her how Debbie has offered to have his children as sort of a "If you don't do it, she will" ultimatum. That is how Lisa Marie took what Michael said about Debbie, whether it was genuine attempts to convince her to have a baby or not. This is what she used as a description of sometimes feeling disposable to Michael, and what caused a lot of arguments in their marriage.

Again, as an MJ fan I didn't find this damaging, it just made the relationship more real.

Oh I agree with him Dutchie, it was just a very direct and unforgiving post. I give him credit, it was just a little joke.

I've been posting similar stuff for years at MJNO, although these days it is a lot harder with him gone.
I know, I just wanted to express that I agree too

I watched the entire interview and i still have NOT read more than 2 posts in this thread, and I think it was a fine interview by Lisa Marie... She came across as honest and without any hidden agenda.. Oprah still sucks tho!
