I don't understand why everyone bashes Hold My Hand so much. Personally I quite like it; granted it's not Michael's strongest track ever, but it's nice and has quite a lot of meaning for me.

Not a problem if it appears on the album, I think more people need to be aware of it.

Where the heck has the rumor that Hold My Hand will be lead single come from? :S

It would be rather odd to have a ballad as a first single though. Usually on MJ albums a fast track would come out first, followed by 1-2 more fast tracks before the ballads are released. We'll see what happens.

probably be on here for abt 6pm GMT ? that was about the time the teaser comes on, it seems to be about right to me ? .... monday is gonna be uber exciting !

Summer 1994 - the song they recorded needed a children's choir. Michael insisted that the entire studio be decorated with xmas lights, tree, fake snow and a sled for their recording. And he bought presents for everyone.
An engineer who worked on HIStory talked about the song last year, there were also news articles with the children (now adults) who sang on the record.

Actually, if the song is good I think it would be a brilliant idea.

guys, christmas does not have to equal ballad, plenty of uptempo songs have been christmas hits. I think she more refers to the actual concept of christmas. I think it could be a christmas song, he supposedly recorded one in 94 thats been mentioned, there was a story about it, i think it was on the gearslutz forum, he had a childrens choir in and it was supposedly magical.

Gaz, I respect you and admire your work for us. But I swear if you have info that you know but don't want to tell I swear I'll do stuff i'm not proud of to get this info.

guys, can someone please explain this, why on MJ.com it says that the album is coming out on 14th dec. and on amazon its on 10th dec.??

Apparently the administrator of michaelmania.com talked to Sony two weeks ago when the announcement was to come out and got some information. Now after the announcement was finally made, he says everything that is happening is exactly what he was told two weeks ago. He was also told that Hold My Hand would be the first single. He hasn't talked to his Sony source since then to confirm whether this information is up-to-date now or not.

Albums in the US are released on Tuesdays, in most European countries on Fridays. The 14th is the US release date, 10th - Europe.

I really don't want to be negative, but i'd be crushed in side if that was the case. Don't get me wrong, i'd love a new single, but a stronger one, i want people to see michael the way we do and Hold my hand is way to generic and non innovative for a musical great.

Also, it would make more sense to have HMH as a single now because not a lot of people have heard it yet. If they wait to use it on the next album or something, more people will have heard it by then because there would be more MJ fans after this album.
