I always thought that TMZ was a fu*king tabloid junk when it comes to Michael articles.

But suddenly I saw this: http://www.tmz.com/2010/11/12/micha...ack-to-finish-breaking-news-sony-music-album/

"It's going to be a huge album" is one sentence they wrote in the article.

What?, was I thinking.. Are they giving MJ cred ? What do you guys think? Is TMZ actually bad when it comes to MJ articles, or am I wrong??

sorry about my english

Um no, probably hyping it up so they can slag it off later on. There's always a motive.

I would think so too, but it is really very unusual. The most unusual that Harvey Levin writes from the first person regarding the album. Never saw this before.

TMZ supported This Is It as well, I remember many times Harvey saying that This Is It will be extremely successful and the CD will sell well. I'm not surprised TMZ supports the new album. It's nice to see :)

I have never seen a bigger Michael Jackson fan then Harvey Levin,
He probably says it best himself in a few live shows on TMZ live
he said "We never gonna have a bigger star then him"
When a question was asked if Harvey was a Michael Jackson fan Harvey replied
"Are You kidding me, Im a huge Michael Jackson fan, Always been, I mean who isnt really he then said"

Like some others have said, TMZ, and Harvey in particular, have previously commented positively on TII as both a critical and commercial success. I'm sure they will do the same again with Michael.

That doesn't mean that they will stop saying unkind things or stirring things up with misleading headlines etc.

Why would they not like MJ's music.

And after MJ died, even the medias have found out people like MJ and don't wanna read bad garbage about him.

So the change in peoples view on MJ has forced the media to be positive about MJ.

Sony wrote Harvey a paycheck of 100,000 USD.

This is the best marketing investment there is - TMZ on your side, you win!

^^^

True.

I hope for HUGE promotion. I have seen absolutely NOTHING in Denmark so far.

Nothing about Vision either.

COME ON SONY - PROMOTE !!!

And Harvey also said...

As for "Breaking News," I just heard the finished version. It's more produced than the one Sony put online and sounds more classic MJ.

This is going to be a huge album.
I guess "LOVING" Michael is back in style again...

And he also said he NEVER Writes in first person right? But so far this is the second time he's written in first person...

L.o.v.e.

It just occured to me that this is the first time I can remember since Thriller, that Michael's album release isn't accompanied by a crap load of tabloid lies and nasty headlines. I haven't heard anything negative except the BN controversy and that mostly is amongst the fans. Maybe even the tabloids are not going to speak ill of Michael since he is no longer with us.

SO sad MJ fans are bringing Michael down.

:(

Record companies do work tightly with media, especially when they want to make of break artist! Invincible is great album, at first every one praised it, but suddenly became a failure according to media the moment when SONY stop promoting it!

When MJ was alive TMZ were writing stupid commets about MJ , very stupid , BUT NEVER MEAN,,,they were not so mean to him especially about his kids and his health.... plus monster critics and 17 X online....i've never come across mean headlines in thes sites, even before 2009...

the meanest sites were (are)Preze Hilon ,Just Jarred, yahoo + British Newspapers.

I'm wondering about this too! go look at some old articles from when TMZ first came out. They were not MJ friendly at all! Also how much involved was Harvey back then? Cause someone mentioned well maybe management changed and now there is this influx of MJ love there? I dunno.. I say it's been about $$$$ since MJ passed. They run how many MJ stories a week and we all go there! lol! It's a part of their plan and we just making them more monies... :( I don't want to go there..but sometimes I have to since they run so much MJ info.

This is all weird! I remember being little and flipping tabloid over cause Michael was on them..and now I'm reading them for info :( I actually feel a little odd about this.

i think this is sort of "embedded journalism" organised by Sony.
Roger Friedman, TMZ and also the biggest tabloid paper in germany here
sounds very friendly recently.

i would not be surprised if they have any sorts of deals when
big new MJ projects start... because sony knows these people
can influence a lot of opinions...

well, at least if i was Sony i would do this. :D

I think the thing with them is that Harvey is a Michael Jackson music fan. So, sure they all give him props for his accomplishments and love his work, but that doesn't mean they respect or like Michael the man.

This. Actually, when Harvey wrote his first "Hi, this is Harvey" entry regarding the album several days ago, he specifically mentioned being "Michael Jackson music fan. It caught my eye right away. I don't think we should expect that TMZ will change their tune regarding Michael the man.

I don't think so. I think they will support MJ this time.

Amen to that

Huh? Just Jared is hands down one of the most positive celebrity blogs out there. Never do you see anything mean and nasty on that blog. They're also promoting the heck out out this album and its singles.
