Teddy Talk Only

Re: Great interview with Teddy Riley by ThatGrapeJuice.net (for the non-believers)

Here's an interview from Riley talking about Will.i.am....another great clip.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cC95ddqMszc

 Tnx!

He said he's doing it for his friend and you know what, I believe him. He hasnt been paid yet...and he said if he doesnt get paid, its ok cuz he is doing it for his friend...

Re: Great interview with Teddy Riley by ThatGrapeJuice.net (for the non-believers)

Not sounding exactly how you are used to him sounding and it not being him are two different things. The three tracks in question were all recorded in the same place the same way so it would stand to reason that they sound similar.

And the fact of the matter is that MOST of it sounds like him. You seriously listen to all of Monster and believe the entire thing is someone else????? Seriously???

Even the end when eh's singing "Hawkin' me" "stalkin' me"???

That is pure MJ.

If the raw vocals were of poor quality and processed and then processed some more to meet the right key would it not stand to reason that they would sound different???????

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXzgwsKl3AE

Another little video to remind you of who Teddy Riley is. He just sits down at a piano years later and bangs out Remember the Time like he's drinking water.

I have no idea why he says the key of the song is F because, in fact, it's in E flat. I know this because I play piano and I have played along to the original recording in E flat. This is strange.

Parts of Monster sound like Michael. I will admit that the part you mentioned does sound very much like Michael, however, the part a little before it, 'why are you stalking me'. That doesn't sound like him at all, sounds forced. Sounds like someone trying to sing it in a way that Michael would.

The word 'monster' in the verse doesn't sound like him. The 'mama say mama got you in a zig-zag' part doesn't sound like him (although I do like that part). Also, the breathy way he finishes notes is the exact same way that Jason Malichi does. The entire bridge before the rap sounds ridiculous, the 'eat your soul' part kills me. I feel like shaking whoever hears these parts and doesn't question them seriously.

Impersonators are good at imitating voices which is why some parts would sound a lot like him, but they are never perfect, hence the flaws. If this were really Michael I don't think I would be questioning as many different parts as I am :(

Re: Great interview with Teddy Riley by ThatGrapeJuice.net (for the non-believers)

I thought the interview was awful. He didn't really answer the question of the vocals at all. He just skirted around the issue and went on about the nonsense that the family are jealous blah blah. Even if it were true it doesn't explain how the vocals don't sound like MJ to an awful lot of people. Just go back to the old breaking news thread and read the immediate gut reactions of everyone on here when listening to the track for the first time. Almost everyone was of the same view....who the hell is this?

Did you watch the interview? Here's a direct quote:

"...what I came in to do was to reproduce the music and add my flavor to his vocals. The lead vocals are all him. The background vocals, some of them are him because we still wanted his flavor in the backgrounds. Most of it is background singers. Um, and the question of it not being him in the lead vocals? There is no question. It is him."

How exactly is that skirting around the issue? Sounds like a pretty direct statement to me.

EXCELLENT interview.

A MASSIVE feud has broken out in Michael Jackson’s camp over the beyond-the-grave album that is hurtling towards Christmas Number One.

Will.i.am, one of the last people to make music with *****, has criticised producer Teddy Riley for putting out a posthumous disc, saying he is “disgusted”. Now Teddy has hit back in a bonkers phone rant.

I thought I’d share it in full...

He said: “I think he should have kept it to himself, I’m sorry. You know, if you got something to say that’s against my friend, you know, and upholding his legacy, what happens when you die? Should we just stop your music? Let me say this. This album is greater than his best album. Michael’s worst day is better than people’s best day.

“Because he’s such a perfectionist, so when you’ve got a person who’s such a perfectionist, when you got people like, um, Will.I.Am just throws his… you know, puts two things together, samples together and drop something and copy from so many different artists.

“You know what I’m saying?”

Over to you, Will.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/news...l-i-am-over-posthumous-album-115875-22786747/

Did Teddy just say that this 'Michael' album is better than 'Thriller'???

That must have been a joke! If not, then I think I needer stronger eye prescriptions, because I'm sure that's not what I read.

Should they stop his music? We never stopped Michael's music. Michael's music that he gave us when he was alive lives on. Michael made his music to live on for an eternity.

“Because he’s such a perfectionist, so when you’ve got a person who’s such a perfectionist, when you got people like, um, Will.I.Am just throws his… you know, puts two things together, samples together and drop something and copy from so many different artists.

And that is what the 'Michael' album is. Or very similar to that. And I've even noticed so many copying and pasting on those songs of the album.

I think he means 'Michael' is better than any album Will-i-Am has brought out!

Teddy needs to shut up now... he's embarrassing himself. People have a right to their own opinion... let it go.

Okay, I see. I misinterpreted it.

I disagree with teddy's statement that 'Michael' is better than Will.I.Am's best. In my opinion, it's not. But I won't give the reasons cause it'll just get deleted or I'll be banned.

So I'll just leave a quote.

"Fine art is that in which the hand, the head, and the heart of man go together." - John Ruskin

Where was Michael's hand, head, and heart in picking out the songs for 'Michael', and finishing each and every single one of them off?

At least Will.I.Am did that with his best album.

I'm missing the MASSIVE part of all this? Isn't this the same thing that's been going on for a few weeks? I thought something serious happend..

Re: Feud erupt between Teddy Riley and Will.I.Am

i like this thing: This album is greater than his best album.it's true, any mj album is better then the best will i am album...sorry but he should be quiet...and they should all stop this fight, michael wouldn't have liked that!

Re: Feud erupt between Teddy Riley and Will.I.Am

Teddy's a nutjob, but in this case, he's bang on the money.

Will.i.am could only dream of producing something as hot as Hollywood Tonight.

His new song is sampling Dirty Dancing for God's sake. Will.i.am is so tacky and I'm glad and was never going to be the right producer for Michael.

Re: Feud erupt between Teddy Riley and Will.I.Am

Teddy Riley had what you call "figure it out" type jokes ...lol

It's funny as heck once your like oooh now i get it...ha ha ha thats hilarious

What Teddy is saying is he works hard in the studio to create MAGIC with MJ where the music is just he and Mike..

With "Will i am".. it's more......Lets go get a old school Smokey Robinson album and find a track nobody knows about and copy that beat.

That's giving him too much credit.

His new song uses the entire chorus of the song from Dirty Dancing.

Seriously needs to shut up because William is right... The entire album promo and controversy has been a mess. The estate should have never released the album or they should have at least took off the 3 controversial tracks.

.

Well Let me just put it on out there that Teddy is better than William BUT yall giving Teddy a bit much credit on some notes. Hollywood tonight was very 2010 overproduced and alot of Teddys recent works havent been spectacular.

If MJ were alive you wouldn't question a single part. You would accept it as him singing differently, as you did other recordings that weren't typical MJ.

The Monster chorus includes background vocalists who are not MJ.

As for the rest, well, I don't disagree that some do not sound like typical MJ. But that doesn't mean it's not him.

How about this, instead of nit-picking the vocals, spell out how such a conspiracy would work.

Re: Great interview with Teddy Riley by ThatGrapeJuice.net (for the non-believers)

^ :clapping: I guess the consumer fraud case that is about to be filed by this army of naysayers, led by voice of reason Taryll Jackson, will reveal all this.

If Sony used even one line of a lead vocal from an impostor and did not reveal it in the album credits, AND IN A STATEMENT, everyone in charge at Sony should be fired and then turned over to us - the crazed fan base - for a public beat down of mythical proportions!!!!!!

We would go medieval on their butts. I would not accept that and would throw the CD away and delete those songs three Cascio songs from my iTunes in a nanosecond!!!!

Re: Great interview with Teddy Riley by ThatGrapeJuice.net (for the non-believers)

I cringed too when i read that lyric 'eat your soul like a vegetable', who wrote that? A four year old?

Re: Great interview with Teddy Riley by ThatGrapeJuice.net (for the non-believers)

I gather it too because there isn't more activity on this thread. If it stated, "Riley interview about faking tracks" it would already have 10,000 views.

If you are a Michael Jackson fan this is must-watch stuff.

People probably just thought it wouldnt be any different to his interview on Oprah and the other interviews he has done since then, and they'd be right. Except he slags the Jacksons off quite a bit more.

Re: Feud erupt between Teddy Riley and Will.I.Am

Since when did articles from tabloid newspapers like the Mirror (while not as bad as The Sun) become acceptable to post?

Re: Feud erupt between Teddy Riley and Will.I.Am

will.i.am is wrong and Teddy Riley is right. Fans should be boycotting Black Eyed Peas music and not MICHAEL.

Re: Feud erupt between Teddy Riley and Will.I.Am

Tabloid BS.

Re: Feud erupt between Teddy Riley and Will.I.Am

Will.i.am could only dream of producing something as hot as Hollywood Tonight.

So what are you saying? Michael Jackson was an idiot for working with him?

I agree

Stop putting words in my mouth. I never said that.

I think Michael tried to work with him, but obviously didn't come away very inspired from their sessions. After all, they starting working together in late 06 and by mid-09 there were absolutely no indications that MJ had any plans to resume the work they did together.

Re: Feud erupt between Teddy Riley and Will.I.Am

Teddy is right. Wii i am is a jackass.

His black eye peas' albums are embarrassment to music and music lovers. I am glad his music with MJ will never see the light of day...Although whatever he has ...is lil more than whatever crap he sampled, with very lil MJ singing.

Thank Goodness.

Michael's last official release included work he did with Will.I.Am. So I think Michael did MORE than 'try' to work with him.

Re: Feud erupt between Teddy Riley and Will.I.Am

Just to get this straight, you're supporting the man that claimed Quincy Jones doesn't know what he's listening to, that claimed Michael Jackson's mother doesn't know what she's listening to, that claimed Michael Jackson's brother doesn't know what he's listening to, that claimed Michael Jackson's nephew doesn't know what he's listening to, that claimed Michael Jackson's children don't know what they're listening to? The man that claims that Michael Jackson is in hiding?

That's the man you're supporting here?

To be honest i can never understand the hype around Will i am. I think that he is extreamly overrated.

Great interview he seems like a genuine person.
