No, you are definitely not the only one who is confused.

That promo video is hilariously bad. The fact that it is meant to bring back memories of the day Michael died is just sad, but the misspellings and just general amateur (and I mean really, really amateur) way it was put together crack me up.

Same here. I am so confused after watching the video. I thought the book is about her starting over after the abusive husband. However, the promote is all the conspiracy of MJ's death. That promote totally doesn't have any logic in it.

No she just want to have fun....The woman is as old as my dad, almost a sexagenarian,...she is acting like she is in her 20s.

These clips had me ROTFLMFAO. The most random, albeit pitiful, crap I've seen since Murray's Disneyland's pictures.

hmmm some things i wanna say..
First of all the first promo maybe la toya didnt make that one?
I have to say im curious about her book, like 1 other member said curious about her bond with michael..
Also starting over, i see that like grieve over michael, grieving over the abusive exhusband, so i cant see i reason why those 2 cant be in 1 book. Alot of people say writing helps and im not going to judge now before reading it.

If after reading it, or reading summerys then i decide if i want to judge and be mad..

The jackson fam is no ordinary fam, and for me some of the choises they take are in line with that, they arent normal like michael told us once.. they had not a normal childhood so they know showbiss better than being quit...

I read alot of people here who are angry at la toya.. I cant be that angry, im sorry i just cant..
If she is going to disrepect michael in the book yes than im angry, but for now we dont know what is in it right?

A thing about talking about the death of michael and who killes him: im sure she did went to the cops with that but maybe they cant do anything so la toya decides to talk about it, why is that wrong? murray is on trial and maybe aeg later too? I think i just wait and see what happens with that. Alot of interviews with the fam were like: wait and you see there is more to come so if this books give answers to those lines i want to read it or hear it

The Jacksons' problem is they are a bunch of uneducated people. Everything they have been doing since June 25th 2009, screams GHETTONESS, CLASSLESS, GREEDINESS. Just like Joe saying he has the right to MJ's name & likeness because it's his son's. All proof of IGNORANCE.

Michael recognized the importance of education...that's why you hear about him & books. He was hungry for knowledge...he knew he had missed something & went looking for it & made sure he was well-versed in many subject.

So it is not surprising that MJ had so little in common with them and took steps to distance himself from the family.

Sadly, the rest of them only understand money and how to con their way into getting more of it. Their sense of entitlement is rooted in the fact that they don't know better...they have been sucking on MJ since 1963 and will continue to do so as long as it brings them what they want: attention & money.

None of the 2nd generation (MJ's generation) graduated from college...even though their career was long dead before they reached 30. They could have studied and become music execs...Noooooooooooo....It was easier to wait for MJ's handouts.

Everything we have been witnessing is rooted in their lack of education.

I had this discussion with a few friends of mine, some very casual fans, and I was surprised to hear how many viewed the Jacksons as a greedy pack. Unlike me, they don't get all the gritty details...but their impression is whenever the Jacksons are in the news, it's to announce a new venture or a lawsuit to stop it.

We laughed it all off as a "black thang"...but really, it's an "uneducated thing"

At least that's my opinion. So kids...stay in school.

... So, this is the message that people in this crazy world should get? "Do what you wanna do, / Say what you wanna say?" and all the crazy menage-a trois stuff...? When I say this, I'm not even criticizing her, nor the family... I just feel deeply hurt and sad about all this, and how this family can't seem to remove themselves from this cloud of ignorance and darkness. Something ugly and twisted is messing with their brains and it's plain to see and feel... it's that thick. Yeah, been bringing this up before, but I don't care, for that is what it's happening... That family needs some prayers, guys... this is serious... ...More hate is only gonna get them more sunk in this nonsensical craziness to the point of no return. If you care about Michael and his 3 children, and you know you do, at least try to abstain from time to time from sending these bad vibes and hate their way (saying that to those who do that repeatedly), it's only gonna affect the children in the long end. ... And I'm saying without the smallest hint of wanting to start an argument or anything... This is so serious that's numbing... ... ):

It's funny that you bring this up in a La Toya thread. Your comments are probably true for some of the Jacksons, but I don't think that they apply to La Toya.

She wanted to go to college. I think that she wanted to major in business, maybe get a law degree. Anyway, Joe told her that she needed to sing (it's the family business, after all). So, while it's true that she didn't graduate from college, I think we should acknowledge that she did have the desire to further her education.

Also, I'm not sure that La Toya has been living off of handouts from Michael. I think she has her own money. Didn't she help pay for Havenhurst when Michael was having some financial issues?

No she did not, she used to own 5% of Hayvenhurst way back in the early 80s, but she doesn't anymore. Also if Latoya had the kind of money (or had other assets) ppl think she's got, her apartment in LV wouldn't have faced foreclosure. She's still not out of bankruptcy court. Also she wouldn't have and wouldn't be selling fairytale interviews to the UK Tabs for mere thousands of $$, if she had money

Even though I am white I was offended by your post. It seems to have RACIST overtones. you state that
first you laughed it off that to have those negative traits was A Black Thang and then you came to the
conculsion that for the Jackson's You will consider those "Black thang traits" an uneducated thing instead

Education is not "end all be all". There are many people who have an education and they still dont have a lick of sense. Why did the Jacksons need an education when they started out in the business as young kids??? Now if they wanted to get into another part of business that they have no knowledge of then they could get an education on that, but anyotherwise why should they?!?! Whats the point of getting a degree if youre not gonna use it. Not to have an education they seem to be living fine to me. Also the only person that is ignorant is yourself. First you do not know what ghetto or classless is or means, if you did then you wouldnt use it to describe them. I dont see how you could make such a gross and harsh generalization of people.

From what I have read Janet and LaToya both wanted to go to school but Joe put them in the family business. Education isnt "end all be all". There are people with many degress who will not ever see a fraction of the money these so-called uneducated people have seen. Most of the people who are rich dont have degrees.... Its more than about going to school and learning something that someone teaches you out of a book. They all have studied their crafts or they wouldnt have gotten to where they did. Doing what they did is no different than receiving a doctorate degree in a specific feild(not literally). N yes LaToya does have her own money. While she may not be SUPER RICH, she isnt hurting for anything and I bet she has more than all of us combined.

She wasnt staying in the apartment in LV. She stays in Beverly Hills. Bankrupty stays on your record for ATLEAST 7 years after you file. Nobody is saying LaToya is super rich, but she aint broke either.

No they typed exactly what they meant to. While Meme may not be racist, there is defintely some prejudices, misconseptions and ignorance on her part. I dont see how her preception of the Jacksons actions turned into it "being a black thang"!?!?!

Some of the others did see importance in education. Both Janet and La Toya wanted to go to college to study business law. La Toya even started and was pulled out half way by her father before she could complete it.

Having said that having a college degree is not going to make you anymore honest or better off financially. Having an education is very overated...you also need the drive and the right attitude. I know ppl who have university degrees but are still not so well off financially and still make bad business/life decisions. It all comes down to attitude in the end whether or not you have education.

Your statement was VERY overgeneralised. Are you implying that generally black ppl are ignorant and greedy?

One question. I know of LaToyas tribute song "Home" when MJ died, but had she released anything prior to that? Did she release something in lets say 2004 or did she do it in the 90s?

For what is LaToya really famous? Is she really known as to be a singer?

I agree with almost ALL of your posts! I'm sorry, but the J family ass kissing ad nauseum grates my nerves... And if one more person claims that MJ always spoke of his family respectfully, I'll use his own words, "Tight knit my ass", he knew they were snakes. I have no respect for any of these people except Marlon, Jackie, and Tito who do their own things, without trying to for lack of a better word, ride MJ's balls and hear the cash register ring..My opinion, if it is in opposition to yours, that's life.

To answer your question honestly, No, Latoya is not known as a singer, but most know her as a drama queen, Playboy centerfold.
