oh so it is a big place with different rooms...so multiple events can go on at the same time?

No.the millenium stadium is totally seperate.its a big stadium on its own and thats its. The theatre in the link has nothing to do with it

I wouldn't call it "disrespect," I would call it DISAPPOINTMENT.

Disappointment in their behaviour and their actions since Michael passed away.

This latest fiasco just adds to the list of ALL the other fiascos to date.

No offense, but there is no way to justify a tribute concert being planned at the same time Murray is due in court for murdering MJ. No matter how you slice it, it's just plain wrong, in my opinion!

no there is a difference between dissappointment, disrespect and hate, saying his family should go to hell, and every other name fans have call them is disarespectful and even at times downright hateful , now what Michael showed for his family was dissappointment not disrepect or hate.

Alot of fans seem to have alot of disrespect for MJ's family. I wonder how he would feel if he could see some of these posts?
I wonder how mj would feel about the actions of his family since 09? Selling his kids to oprah and a porn film maker.yeah i bet hes estatic

we have no idea what mj said behind closed doors.and what he said is irrelevent as we are all individuals we all have our own opinions.we dont have to have the same opinion as mj.whatever that was as we are all seperate ppl.do u like kfc just cause mj did?

Jackson tribute promoter sued for fraud

Promised concert in P.E.I. was to have featured Beyonce, Timberlake

The City of Summerside, P.E.I., is suing an American concert promoter for fraud, saying it paid $1.3 million for a Michael Jackson tribute concert that did not exist.

The city filed papers Monday in a San Jose, Calif., courthouse against Katrina Berg Sussmeier and her promotion company, Starlink Productions. The city claims Sussmeier promised it could host the first concert of an official Jackson tribute, featuring stars such as Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna and Usher.
Summerside would have kicked off the world tour July 24.
"In reality," reads the statement of claim, "the Michael Jackson Tribute Show was, from start to finish, an elaborate fraud."
The statement of claim describes how the city fell completely for Sussmeier's plans.
It says the city wired two separate payments of $650,000 to the promoter: the first in July 2009, the month after Jackson died, and the other in March 2010. The second payment was sent to the promoter despite red flags already being raised for the city.
The second payment was made despite growing doubts.
"Summerside officials became increasingly concerned about the status of the concert," says the statement of claim about the months leading up to that final payment.
The city is suing to get back the $1.3 million in taxpayers money, as well as for unspecified damages.
None of the allegations have been proven in court. A message left for the promoter Monday night by CBC News was not returned.

LOL

Who cares about a new show that should not happen? Who cares about the money that fans will spend? Who cares about the disgusting behavior of the family?

Let us all discuss the difference between dissappointment, disrespect and hate!!!

LOL

Some fans are really unbelievable.

You have every right to your opinion but I respectfully disagree with you. I don't hate the Jackson's. I do hate many of their actions and they have done nothing to earn my respect.

BTW they are showing TII at a park in Chicago tonight!!! I wish I could go:(

If we have to have a tribute show THE ESTATE has to organise it.
PERIOD.

With the Estate, WE KNOW where our money we'll go.
and if they decide to give it to charities
WE'LL ACTUALLY TRUST that they'll do it, and those charities will benefit the money made FROM THE TICKET SELLING!

This forum should organise the tribute concert with approval from Estate, or helping them choosing the place the date and it should stand for.

I think that is a cool idea!!! How fun would it be if the Estate did this and allowed us to participate in the planning?!

Many of you have asked about my book's timing in light of my comments about the tribute concert, so let me explain.

When I first signed the book deal, the agreed publication date was October 13. When the courts moved the trial date from June to September, that meant the book would come out in the middle of those proceedings -- an outcome I couldn't allow.

Once I explained this to the UK & US publishers, they both understood and acted swiftly, going to great lengths to rearrange their 'locked in' schedules.

I was offered two alternative publication dates: first week November or second week September. To avoid a potential clash with any jury deliberations/verdict in the November, I agreed September 13 because it's BEFORE the trial's start on September 20.

Where my publishers listened and acted to avoid conflict with the trial, Global Live, the promoters behind the tribute concert, heard my same concerns and stuck to their October 8th concert date. There is the difference.

I will not be promoting the book or doing any book signings after September 20 and until the trial has ended.

Even if she wasn't touring she wouldn't be involved. For whatever reason, unlike MJ, she is left alone when it comes to them and their schemes.

It'll get tanked before it even see the light of day.

If the family thinks they can pull this off just without the estate's nod and involvement, they're living in their own Neverland.
Two previously attempted tributes have busted before the press conference ever hit the wire, what makes them think they'll make it this time round.
If there'll be MJ tributes, spare fans the pain of choosing trial or MJ tribute.

Ill-timed is an under-statement, disrespectful to Michael pretty much sums it up.

Let MJ's death closure have it's day in court and if there'll any tributes at all, let the estate get the job done.
They got enough industry clout and entertainment biz savvy
to make the Jacskon family look like kindagarten

You don't do a tribute concert during the trial. It can wait. Michael died 2 years ago and the man responsible is free doing whatever he pleases. There is a chance that he won't be found guilty and that makes me sick. Nothing is for sure. I am not saying they can't do it but their focus should be on the trial. The kids don't need a trust fund. They have what Michael provided for them in his will and that is a lot.

It's become frustrating watching all these deals, gimmicks, and products by the family. It feels like Michael is being used. That's how I feel. I am sorry.

My point EXACTLY. She wasn't touring, etc. when Jermaine came up with the Vienna "tribute" (that fell flat, no surprise there). I've never heard of the family imposing on her to 'carry the load' like Michael was. That may change now that she's the 2nd most successful Jackson sibling still with us.

I think it will not change. The reasons?

1) Janet is no different from the rest of the family. She is not a trustworthy person. Michael was a good person and never said 'no'. Janet is part of the gang. The only difference is that she had a solo career.

2) Janet does not have the star power of the name "Michael Jackson".

I do not like Janet, but I know she is not stupid. it's a good idea to stay away from the family right now and she knows it. That's why many fans think she is a saint. She is smart. But she also uses MJ's name, and in disgusting ways too...
.

I agree. In fact people (including non-fans) think they are just a joke. None of these Jacksons (barred Janet and Jackie) want to work for themselves. Instead they prefer to scheme around and write useless books about their golden relative.

I expect the Estate to put a block on this nonsense soon. For people to sing MJ songs in concert they will need to obtain the rights from the Estate. Same goes for merchandises. Cirque du soleil got the exclusive rights to perform MJ songs from the Estate. And they are far more credible than the fraudulent Global Live (GL). Never heard of that company before and based on some preliminary investigation, it seems GL was set up just recently to persue this scam.

I just wish the moderators on this forum (ie Ivy and co) could actually place a banner educating the fans of this scam cooked up by the Jacksons. The forum should be a bit more pro-active in this regards to try and protect its userbase (MJ fans) from falling victims of this obvious scam.

This is NOT an attack on moderators. It's merely a suggestion.

Actually everything you just said has already been stated and discussed in this thread. Plus Ivy and co have been educating pro activley several times in this thread alone. Maybe go back and read the thread. You will also learn here in this thread that Jacksons do not need permission from estate to sing MJ songs. anyone can sing MJ songs in concert. Plus none of the fans here have shown they are falling victim or support what they are doing in any fashion as far as I can see. but Fans are allwed to support or not based on the info they recieve and I think they are getting good information right here. This thread is at the top of the board main News forum for all who Enter to see. That's banner enough

STATEMENT ISSUED BY JERMAINE & RANDY JACKSON

RE: THE MICHAEL JACKSON TRIBUTE CONCERT

July 25, 2011

Today's press conference in Los Angeles announced a tribute concert to Michael to be attended and supported by the Jackson Family. However, we want to make clear that this does not reflect the position of the entire family.

While we wholeheartedly support the spirit of a tribute that honors our brother, we find it impossible to support an event that is due to take place during the criminal trial surrounding Michael's death. As everyone knows, those proceedings commence September 20th, and this "Michael Forever" concert takes place in Cardiff, Wales, on October 8th. In light of this, we feel it is inappropriate to be involved with such an ill-timed event and its promoter, Global Live.

Furthermore, the decision to proceed with this concert disrespects opinions and wishes expressed in the strongest terms to Global Live during conversations in April when this event was presented to the majority of the family as an idea already in its advanced stages.

There will come a time and place for an amazing and deserving tribute to Michael. But we feel that the most important tribute we can give to our brother at this time is to seek justice in his name.

Thanks for the feedback. Please note that my earlier post was not an attack on the moderators. I think they are valuable assets to this community and will continue to support them as always.

I was just concerned about the general welfare of this community. We seem as of late to be targets of all kinds of things it's almost frightening.
As for the banner bit, I was referring to a READ ONLY thread where the info you are referring to could be read by members without having to skim through pages of this thread. The truth is not everyone (including myself) will go through these long pages of discussion to filter out some useful info. and so the result is that people will most likely miss out on some good information as you implied in your response.

Hmmm, i have to admit to thinking the tribute was great... BUT then i found out how you get tickets and THEN i found out its during the trial time! Its so disappointing the way some members of the family exploit MJ's name.
We should wait a few years before a tribute concert is arranged. The trial is the most important MJ related news during the rest of 2011. Let the dust settle on that, then the ESTATE could do a tribute, not the family who have no interest in honouring MJ's legacy, just in making a quick buck off his name!

Hey people, what is the fuss here?
You wanted tribute, well, maybe you'll soon have it.
What is the point to explain how disappointed you are, offended or even disgusted by the actions of the Jackson family?
We don't know yet which artists will participate, we didn't hear the exact ideas of this tribute. Maybe it should excite us much more, don't you think?
Maybe this way the world once again will realize what a great artist and a person lost and asks a fair punishment for his killer. Because how many people which aren't Michael's fans know when the trail begins? This tribute / if it's well done / will draw attention to Michael again.
The only thing that bothers me is the requirement for a donation on sales of tickets. It is not fair.

Not yet. We should know about the performers around august 3rd, and info about ticketing are supposed to be announced in another press conference on oct. 3rd.

So they expect us to buy a ticket (+ donations) to a concert with no artists????

And isn't the ticket supposed to be a donation???......

......by the looks of it, the charity donation is completely separate to the ticket money.......in other words the ticket is not for charity as you have to pay additional money for charity!!!!

This is Fraud!!!!!!!
