Lately ive been feeling like Michael and his music are losing the magic they once had in my heart. do you guys ever feel this way?
I know he is the beat and his music is better than anything....but is it possible for it to lose its spark? am i using it up to fast?
I dont understand how long term fans do it......ive been a fan since 2006, but i only embaced his music in late 2007....i dont understand the way i feel and think sometimes. im only 17, and i want the magic to last forever.

Exactly, like before that there was hope for a new MJ album, now we have what he left us. It will never be the same though. i dont understand it.

This is so sad. I've been a fan since 1983 and I can't imagine Michael losing his magic for me. :( I hope it comes back for you.

I never thought this would come for anyone. Michael's always been at the forefront of my life and it was SO exciting when he was here, but now, it's all gone :(

The music has the same magic to me. Just hearing his voice sparks the most intense joy I have ever felt. I think what changes is when you remember it's all over, his voice is now silent forever.

Maybe this will light a spark. :better: You are always in his Heart

Sometimes its hard, knowing that there will never be another MJ, and that he isnt coming back. What if he ended up releasing his album on the other side. and in reality songs like Best of Joy, Hollywood, and others are complete....i guess i can only hope....

The video is nice. thanks :)

Aww it'll get better, trust me. I think you may be taking a break but you'll get it back in time don't worry. Sometimes taking a break will help you to appreciate Michael's music more, I did that for a period and came scrambling back to my MJ collections lol. The Magic that is MJ goes beyond his music and into the man that he was and that will never tire out for you. He's been gone for quite sometime now and interest in his art and life has actually increased mainly for those who are now discovering the magic that we had already known for the longest time as his loyal fans. It won't be long before your heart is rekindled by the magic. :better:

WOW cool vid
Let me 'confess' here... In 2010, I had a rough patch like that too... I felt the Magic slipping from my fingers too... I could NOT watch vids, look at piccies nor listen to Michael's music and since this is the ONLY way to 'sooth' me... Living with me was HELL... I was  I knew this couldn't go on like this so... I took the brave step to come back here and with a lot of sweat, tears and tantrums I 'healed' ...

I guess, its a 'trick' of the mind as long as I can 'convince' my mind that Michael has just MOVED to HEAVEN and if I'm a  I'll be able to meet Michael again 'one fine day... I'm OKAY...

Right now, I 'block' a lot of things... Like This is it or just general Generation O stuff... TV/ Radio... I try NOT to 'spark' my 'tantrums' anymore and its working :clapping:

Just give it time.... Its been a HUGE shock and your body, mind, heart, soul...just NEED to 'adjust' to the NEW way of life...
Hang in there and the Magic will come back...
It has 'returned' in my life and I'm SHINING again with a whole NEW prespective in life as I've seen the 'other' side...

Keep your head up :better:

Try listening to some of his music that you don't normally go for; discover the Jacksons albums (Goin' Places, Destiny etc etc) or even his early Motown solo albums. Sometimes you just need to a break from the "main" part of his career and to go back to the roots. I find that helps!

Questions: Are you depressed by any chance? His music wouldn't be the only thing in that case to lose its spark. Just wondering.

By the way, I can't listen to his music day in and day out. I can't do that with anyone's music. Mozart, MJ or anyone else. I have phases, they come and go.
Michael is also human and put a finite amount of finished music out for us to hear, I think it's very normal to go through these phases. It'll come back, I'm sure.

Ive never heard the jacksons albums or alot of the early stuff i dont own thoose albums. I dont think im depressed, im not happy but im not sad. And i like michaels music. It has magic, i just dont want to get bored you know? I cant really enjoy billie jean, bad, beat it, man in the mirror....i also only listen to mj. I dont know who else to listen too. Im lost. Any other sugeations? No beatles or metal. I cant stand that. Lol

^Maybe you should take a short break from Michael's music, listen to other artists, and then return to Michael's music. I believe overexposure can take away some of the magic, but only temporarily.

Well you're missing out on a BIG and ESSENTIAL part of Michael's career. Go and get the Jacksons albums, trust me. They are 80 percent Michael, a lot of his early songwriting started in the 70's and a lot of his autobiographical songs were from this time too. Check out "That's What You Get For Being Polite", "Blues Away" and things like "Time Waits for No One" that were written by the brothers with him in mind.

Do you have all of Michael's albums? Because the songs you listed are only from the 80's. Do you have Off the Wall? Dangerous? Branch out a bit and discover Michael's other eras. :)

Its back, i was reading Joe Vogals book and reading about the unreleased tracks and how Red one, Will i am, and others have some at least 75-100% complete. It rekinddled the fire, and the immagination. It wont be the same, but ill take it. as long as it is him.

Yep!! Michael's career spanned 40 years. There's more than enough material there to keep from getting bored with it.

You must not have an obsessive personality like I do lol. Just remember the magic comes from constantly analyzing and reinterpreting old pieces. Maybe try to listen to some of his songs and view them from different angles? Nothing is ever one-dimensional (except maybe the Kardashians) so there is always the chance of a deeper meaning, of another facet, etc.
