Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

To be honest I'm not really interested in remixes. I always skip them on Thriller 25. I'd rather have some unreleased demos.

And of course, the BAD TOUR ON DVD/BLUE-RAY!!!!!!!
That's what everybody wants!

I'm not sure why people think that this snippet of information on Billboard means there won't be a Bad Tour DVD. The one does not exclude the other. I remain optimistic.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

if they mess up BAD 25 and only release remixes and not a BAD Tour 88' DVD & Blu-Ray then I'm just gonna stay with the collection I've got now and not bother buying any of the estates other projects in the future it will be absolutely disgraceful if we don't get this tour this year!! don't let us down AGAIN Sony & Estate.

Don't know about others. I just don't know what to think and what to expect. To me, a Bad Tour DVD is a no brainer. Every fan wants it. Just don't understand why there isn't any word about it yet. So far, we have seen a new Bad 25 logo, a Spike Lee documentary, some Pepsi cans and a Billboard article about remixes; but, not one single word about the tour.

Unless Sony and the Estate are intentionally keeping a low profile about the DVD release, I'd assume news about it will be out soon. Surely, editors, graphic designers, audio engineers are working on it, right? In this Twitter age, nothing can be kept a secret for long...

I keep it optimistic and I think they save the Bad Tour announcment for last as the crown jewel of the whole Bad 25 campaign. Also, maybe they won't want to release everything at once. We will get an album in August and the Tour DVD somewhere before Christmas.

Yeah... the Bad Tour DVD/Blu-ray is indeed the crown jewel of the whole Bad 25 re-release. I just hope the campaign will be synchronized more smoothly to make a bigger impact. Just don't understand the way things are heading into now. Pepsi cans out in May, yet the album and DVD (hopefully there will be DVD/Blu-ray) won't be available till months later?

Guys you outta this world...
A little loco is fine, but this is somewhat insane!

There's nothing for sure until now!
So why acting out?

And Bad25 Album shouldn't have anything to do with with Bad Tour DVD/BluRay.
The album is one thing, the Tour the other!

Only because there may be remixes on the album, it doensn't mean there will be no Tour, or the 'unloved' first leg!
You're a bunch of panicking chickens ;-)

Wait & see, buy if you like, don't buy if you don't like!

Just don't ruin it for the people who will enjoy nomather what.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

In all fairness, the remixes on Thriller 25 were Michael's idea.

Great! Blindly supporting any half arsed product the Estate and Sony put out.

I actually think those are exactly the kind of people that the Estate is aiming their releases at. The ones that'll buy anything, no matter how good or bad, with Michael's name on it.

Fantastic!

Fans need to be more selective about what they buy and support. Just because some product has Michael's name on it, doesn't automatically make it great. Especially now that they're not done and released by him anymore. Cause I can understand if it were Michael putting out a new album or whatever, that wouldn't have been THAT great, and you'd buy it just because it's Michael Jackson, but that's not the case anymore.

In all fairness, the remixes on Thriller 25 were Michael's idea.

True. They still sucked though.

They should include Water and Soldier Boy as bonus tracks then they'll have a real masterpiece that Michael would truly have been proud of.

This is Michael Jackson we're talking about...I won't accept anything less for my idol...You say 'buy it if you like, don't buy if you don't like'...Well, yeah, obviously, that's what we're saying...lol....We're just discussing the release, that's all...I don't see anyone ruining it for anyone else...It's the reality we have here though...The Estate have been flimsy with the releases thus far and don't seem to be too concerned with quality....You can't blame fans for being a bit sceptical with the whole situation...

I'm not gonna keep my mouth shut about what I think is worthy of MJ, sorry....So, if you don't like us speaking with some constructive criticism, well, that's really too bad...

You can buy whatever they release, be it crappy quality or not, but some fans feel that Michael Jackson is worth a bit more than that ;)

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

For over 20 years ive been waiting for a bad concert to come out, or be shown on tv...:(

if it dosent happen for the 25th anniversary, its probably never going to come out etc, they might aswell set fire to all the reels of film, tapes/ footage of bad tour stuff etc etc...whats the point in filming it, if we never get to see it..:(

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

For us MJ fans, it's simple.

Give us BAD concert, BAD re release with 3-4-5 demos, untouched and a nice documentary.

It's simple.

But sadly, Sony and The Estate think business and money. So they want MJ to appeal more to the youth by giving out remixes, making the demos sound more current, bringing in Skrilles, etc.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

I hope the Estate are looking now. If the album is going to be something like original songs + remixes + maybe one unreleased song, I probably wouldn't buy it. I'm not a fan of remixes unless it's done like the way the Immortal album was done.

*gears up for disappointment* Well...if they screw up again, I'll just be celebrating Bad in my own way. I still believe the Bad tour will be released. It would be stupid not to release it.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

I'm gonna stay optimistic, but if we don't get a BAD Tour 88' DVD Blu-Ray by the end of this year then I will be extremely dissapointed.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

What is this Skrillex and who the hell are they, and why is there a rumour they may touch an MJ song?

It was reported by Billboard magazine.

"Pepsi is also prepping a 25th-anniversary campaign in mid-May for the rerelease of Michael Jackson's Bad that will include a series of remixes from superstar DJs like Skrillex, Diplo and A-Trak. Jackson, of course, famously struck a ground-breaking, multifaceted endorsement/sponsorship deal with Pepsi in 1983, and was also infamously burned by an accidental fire during a 1984 commercial shoot."

It's the lead story on the May issue.

BAD Tour 88' DVD & Blu-Ray please.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

I perfer NO REMIXES there's enough out there of his songs already. And after we got the Immortal CD (which in my opinion was pretty darn good) it would be a mistake to yet again have an album full of remixes and nothin else or as some kind of bonus.
