BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For [General Discussion]

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

I don't know if you noticed, but MJ's DVD's for HISTORY vol 1 and 2 were A LOT better quality than Visions.
Go ahead. See the difference. from a video that's featured on on of those DVD's and then watch the VISIONS version.
Apparently MJ had to be alive for there to be any quality control over his products...

I'm surprised that Moonwalker was actually given the treatment, too.
While it's not rocket science, but getting the original film negatives and transferring them to 720/1080p resolutions isn't the easiest process in the world. So I was happy they did that.

Oh I noticed....I actually never watch the Vision DVD because I actually don't own a DVD player, so I have to use my PS3 ...and guess what? It doesn't even work in the PS3! (actually, I have 2, and it works in neither)

Oh God! What if THIS release doesn't work in my PS3?? :bugeyed

Michael would never allow Vision DVD to be released in such quality. It's the worst quality ever. Even Dangerous DVD has better quality. The best quality in my opinion is on Visionary CD singles.

Then maybe your Ps3 is faulty! Get it checked out :D (its not like a foreign copy, is it? Like a different region DVD?)

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

I was previously talking about those snippets.
TWYMMF is confirmed here, taken from the supposedly multitracks
http://youtu.be/0WxwWgxI_JM?t=2s

Not to discredit you, but I read in the comments of one of those snippets that it's actually from another Wembley date.
I hope it's true though!

Nah, my bf takes care of all that...the system is fine, everything else works in it..And no, it's not a foreign copy...

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

I'll buy and send it to you for free. how about that?

if u want to do that. yeah, thanks.

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

I didn't say it was important. Just basing that on the Moonwalker video is all.
I liked him wearing the blue better. Going from TWYMMF to MITM instead of Bad to MITM is so much better :)

Funny thing is that i'm kinda obsessed with the order of setlists myself lol. I always felt that Billie Jean was better performed after Thriller like on the Dangerous Tour and not before Thriller like on the HIStory Tour. People may ask ''what's the big deal?'' but i just always found it really cool that when Thriller was over MJ (Or rather the MJ impersoator wearing the wolf mask) would vanish and then he reapears on stage performing Billie Jean

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

lol "we got this from MJ's own nightstand"

But I can't wait to watch that concert and put the VOLUME ALL THE WAY UP in my living room :dancin:

yup....Michael in surround sound....:bow::clap:

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

I wish Michael was here. I can't help it. I hope he would be happy with this. I am happy with this and will make sure to have more than one copy.

he would not. Read Moonwalk or some of the press articles at the time. He never wanted it released.

Another question:

Will the DVD contain the concert in full surround sound? I think that the show was recorded on multitracks. On YouTube you can find a live 'Rock with you' acapella and the same segment with only the keyboards on it. So it could be possible.

A Bluray audio of the full album in surround sound would also be nice in the future! :D

But I am so happy with this release. We get so much more than we thought!!

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

Seriously, my Moonwalker Bluray is SO precious to me...The quality is just OUTSTANDING...It's exactly how we're supposed to see MJ...in that type of kick ass quality...

I mean, I know it's wishful thinking, but it would be so amazing to have everything released on Bluray....I was quite disappointed when Vision was released on only DVD...His videos SHOULD be seen in the greatest quality possible...I know we can be picky about the quality, but really? It's MICHAEL JACKSON live! What other ways are we supposed to watch him if not the greatest quality that can be achieved?

I really don't care what he was wearing, but I know what you mean...it's those little things eh?

Yes, Moonwalker Bluray is one of my the best MJ purchases I ever made. MITM is breath-taking. I mean it really is breath-taking. And, Smooth Criminal in crystal clear video quality. Oh man... :stars:

Yes, HIStory Vol. I and II are way better than Visions. Some think I'm being picky. But, fact is the differences are very noticeable. I never watch a DVD with a magnifying glass or trying to pick up mistakes. Still, the quality of Visions is just unbelievably bad. The collection is now sitting there collecting dust. I almost never reach out to them. I always go back to HIStory instead.

Let's hope the Bad Tour DVD is of better quality. :prayer:

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

HIStory vol 1 and 2 look like they were transferred from the master tapes of the music videos.
VISIONS looks like they were transferred from a VHS copy that belonged to Michael Jackson in his house ;)

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

I watched the interview back and I didn't hear him say anything about adding it in after she asked him to sing it.

This is funny and sad at the same time...

Who has possession of the master film of Bad Tour? If the Estate doesn't have it, then who?

and tour was a pivotal moment in Michael’s growth as a composer, performer and producer
cementing his role as the King of Pop. We are thrilled to celebrate such an historic era in
Michael’s career with this release”, stated John Branca and John McClain, Co-Executors of the
Estate of Michael Jackson.

On June 26 a replica edition of the original 7" vinyl of this single with the original B-side "Baby
Be Mine" will be made available to the world. The first single for BAD, “I Just Can’t Stop

The BAD album was the third Michael Jackson album produced by Quincy Jones and was
originally released on August 31, 1987. It was monumental in many ways; Michael wrote nine of
the album's eleven tracks and received co-producer credit for the entire album. The album was #1
around the world, made history with five consecutive #1 singles on the Billboard chart, produced
ten chart-topping singles, nine ground breaking short films and to date, the Bad album
has generated over 45 Million units in sales. BAD was nominated for six Grammys and won
two; the album earned Michael the first-ever Video Vanguard Award at the MTV VMA Awards.
Songs on the original album are: “Bad,” “The Way You Make Me Feel,” “Speed Demon,”
“Liberian Girl,” “Just Good Friends” featuring Stevie Wonder, “Another Part of Me,” “Man in
the Mirror,” “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You,” “Dirty Diana,” “Smooth Criminal,” with “Leave
Me Alone” added to the album once released.

We had this story several times now. how she did that (re-released & different mixed), and totally different chart system (very easy to manipulate by record company and radiostations). so mj have the record, and noone else can achieve that anymore.

that means the version with the spoken intro? cause that was released on the first edition of the album.

if thats true, and is not PR, where are the certification updates?

omg, me too! (@ setlist order).

I thought Human Nature worked better in the beginning of the show better (like the first leg of Bad Tour) rather than later in the set after Rock With You.

A good show should have a good flow of songs, in more ways than one.
Moving Heartbreak Hotel to the 2nd song was a good move. It was arguably a lesser known song, but it was very rock-esque, so going right after a hit song long WANNA BE was good. Then going into an uptempo, uplifting song with just MJ and no dancers for APOM...
I could go on.

My only gripe with the 2nd leg was cutting SHAKE OUR BODY. I get the other songs being cut for the new ones, but I felt that should have saved. They could have shaved off like 4 minutes of it, too.

Amazing news

This is funny and sad at the same time...

Who has possession of the master film of Bad Tour? If the Estate doesn't have it, then who?

I would imagine the production company who filmed it might have a stake in it, as well as Sony/Epic. Maybe even Pepsi, since they sponsered the tour?

In any case, hours and hours of footage are SOMEWHERE.
If I were ever in the presnece of the shelves of video tapes with Bad footage, i'd...

Also, another thing to think about in regards to behind the scenes stuff. Whoever produced that Japan Bad Tour special from the first leg and even the red shirt footage from the Aussie documentary still probably has all their footage they filmed, as well.
But I think stuff like that is harder to dig for.

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

also I don't know one way or another but there's a good possibility Moonwalker was UPSCALED from the original DVD to 1080p... It looks rather soft and the grain is blocky. Either that, or it could be just a "bad-quality" (low bitrate) rip

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

I think they got the film negatives because it looks too good to be upscaled. You just might have gotten a bad rip, yeah.

Considering it was filmed before HD anyway, it turned out (like a lot of movies that go through the same process) really nice.

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

There is ONE thing I'm SUPER disappointed about and I can't help but be negative and bitter about it...I'm sorry :(

If this is the audio we're getting, I'm going to die. This is too awesome. Too bad it isn't being released on Blu-Ray, but hey - music DVDs can have great audio too!

TWYMMF sounds crazy.. I really want it on the dvd

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

I'm sorry I'm really confused can someone tell me where on Barbara Walters Interview does he say he re-added Dirty Diana?

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

Why would they lie? If they have better quality than a VHS tape I'm sure they would use it. I don't know where those concerts are. Maybe someone stole them like many unreleased songs, maybe the owner of the production company that filmed the concerts has them and he's refusing to release them - like will.i.am.

This cannot be true, what about all those clips shown in brace yourself? And not to mention LA 89. He used 90% from LA in brace yourself, And he used footage from LA for soultrain and not to mention that he used it in "the ones" dvd (by the way aweesome quality!) and that was released in lile what 2003? So yeah i def believe that they are in thr possesion of more tapes! In the memorial when they did a quick montage of his carrer i saw alot of 88/89 footage..

With that being all said, iii cant waait to finally see a bad tour 88 concert on dvd!!

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

if u want to do that. yeah, thanks.

If I do that as you are getting a free copy, you'll promise never ever complain again.
