Incredible lifelike Michael Jackson Thriller bust [Update] The Creator comments in our thread

Your sculputers are simply amazing. Lot of artists have difficulty capturing Michael's exact likeness, going by the many sculptures that don't look like him! Your's, however are top, show quality. What are your plans for these?

It's really hard to say. I always thought his nose was ever so slightly more up-turned in the Bad era, and nostrils thinner and more triangular (TWYMMF video is a good example of this), but I don't know how much of that is just a perception thing because of the lighter skin.

I agree with you. It's really hard to tell. His nose though, seems a bit bigger from around the Bad video shoot time (1987?) to the Moonwalker/Smooth Criminal video (1988).

Alright, here are some final pics. Plan on using this for both Thriller (I'll fill in the chin) and Bad sculpts. Although it's hard to tell any difference, one thing that always bugged me about the sculpt that I couldn't put my finger on until now was his right side temple/cheek area. It looked too gaunt. So I've made it fuller after studying pics of MJ from Thriller and Bad.

Once I'm done with a painted prototype, I'll have some pics for everyone here. I have high hopes this will finally be close enough t0 1980s Michael finally.

Thanks everyone for your support!

What are the years on these pics..the first and last look identical while the second is every so slightly different...but that could be because of lighting and position though
Thanks for all the kind words everyone!

I had a question for all you MJ experts: Everyone always says how different he looks from the Thriller and Bad eras. With the obvious addition of the chin cleft and the lighter skin, I don't think he had another nose job. But maybe I'm wrong? What do you guys think in this pic comparison? (Keep in mind his lips are widened on the Thriller pic so it stretches the nose out a bit).

Here's a quick teaser. Still have a long way to go into finishing the prototype (I still need to tweak out the eyebrows, add eyelashes, hair, paint tweaks, etc). The eyes looks off center due to being held in by tape but I'll fix that when I'm done. ;)

Omg! That's amazing!

A couple more pics. This taking a long time but coming along nicely. I've decided to make this a Bad video version with the part in his hair.

I know I'm getting a bit repetive with these posts, but here's some more pics:

The eyes are still being held with tape so they look off centered. Hopefully seeing Mike bald isn't traumatizing anyone here.

Just had a question everyone: does the skin tone look close to Bad era?? Should I lighten it up? Please give me some input! Thanks for the kind comments everyone!

Mike still looked good bald IMO. I think the color is about right? It looks fine, don't lighten it. MJ still had some pigment during this era so if you decide to change it make it a bit darker then.

Thanks for the input! Just wanted a second opinion.

Here's the look I've decided to go for, as far as the hair is concerned:

I think with the wig I have, I can pull that off. Be back soon!

This is amazing! It would be cool to see a video of your work in progress :D

This is amazing work. Better than any of the museum MJ sculpts I've ever seen. Fantastic likeness. They should have used this in the Torture video! LOL I'm surprised there aren't more members here commenting on this work of art. Puzzling...

Thanks everyone for the comments!

Wow....I'm not done yet on the hair(still need to do alot of trimming, styling and adding of curls in the fronts and sides), but it's REALLY coming together nicely:

That's gonna be so awesone. what a great likeness  Beautiful

Just a suggestion:
I think the wig should sit a tad farther back on his forhead , not so full on top and bring the curls down above his eye left side.

I love it, even bald MJ would've looked hot, haha. I think when it comes to his tone, he sometimes had a darker shade and others it was lighter..of course that was up to his makeup artist. But this tone or even a bit darker could work!

OMG, I want one :p

Congratulations, you have such a great talent!
I agree with Qbee's suggestion about the hair though :)
Can't wait to see the finished work with make up and everything.

Amazing work! I have never seen more real looking sculpture of Michael. Thank you for sharing these pics. :)

That's an easy fix. Here's what I've done so far:

As far as the hair fullness on top and the bang curls, I'll get to that eventually. Also, maybe some slightly darker eyeliner on the bottom eyelid. 2nd opinions always helps though. ;)
