OMG! I think I know how bidder 462 is... It could be a member of the Pointe16 hotel staying in new york to buy all the icon MJ things to put it in there exhibition in Macau, China. (They've bought 50+ iconic things including the Billie-Jean Motown 25 glove).

wouldn't they call him the person from China? and why would he stay in New York when the auction is in CA and this person is in the room in LA right now.

I don't know any museums in New York that would be interested in such a collection. So I think it's a private collector.

No, he may have not wanted to reveal where he is coming from. I don't think Julians knows or needs to know a whole load of BG information about you. He may have stayed in New York because it is central part of American tourism, to enjoy his/herself? And then of course flown to C.A which seems unlikely but as we can see his bathed in money - all is possible.

the auctioneer clearly referred to this bidder 462 as a gentleman from New York so I'm assuming this is a rich person that they have dealt with before and know who that is and that this guy lives in New York.

It's highly likely that they would know the Chinese guys flying plan and that he came to New York from China first and even if they did refer to him as from New York when he clearly isn't.

The Grammy Museum in NY has a permanent MJ display - maybe its them (maybe in partnership with estate)

Reading here on Wikipedia on the Ponte 16's page it says under the Exhibition subheading "Jackson's glove was sold to the casino at New York’s Julien’s Auctions". This happened in December 2009 which makes it possible that the Auctioneer remembers the man and calls him "The gentleman from New York" simply because he remembers him buying something previously there. I assume it's the same auctioneer because he is quite an old man and he also sold the Thriller jacket in 2011.

Its possible. Im hoping it all doesnt go to one place in china. making it near impossible for most to see them :(

The whole thing is so damn sad. Whoever this bidder 462 is deserve Bush's big "thank you for making me rich" note. And if those costumes in Bush's possession are meant for the museum, shame on him. Only Michael knew smh

yeah there's a confusion in that regard. Some say that Estate and MJ's kids had picked items before the auction and so those weren't a part of the auction.
