Michael - The Great Album Debate

The voices are identical. Literally. Identical.

Identical is much too simple of a word. I would go for "exactly the same".

Believers are entitled to their own beliefs just as doubters are entitled to theirs. But personally, I just do not hear the voice of Michael Jackson in any of the twelve Cascio tracks. I remember defending Breaking News when it first leaked. I used every excuse the believers use now: vocal processing, bad audio stream on Michael's website, bad working conditions in 2007... but after hearing the eleven other songs, there's just no room for questioning.

Not releasing any more Cascios on any future albums is good. But it's not enough. I believe that Jason Cupeta/Malachi needs to own up to recording the tracks (with Eddie admitting he lied as a result) and having the songs removed from Michael's discography. This will never happen, but I don't think the fans will ever get closure unless it does.

2 YEARS ANNIVERSARY OF THE "MICHAEL" ALBUM - INTERNATIONAL FRAUD DAY CELEBRATION!:)

Yay,

Isn't this sampled from "Earth Song"?

"I used to dream, I used to glance beyond the stars."

EDIT (after Pentum's like, not to create any problems between members):

You mean the ten seconds of vocals that sound identical to Jason Cupeta and not a bit like Michael Jackson?

As evidenced by this video - clearly the same voice as on the Cascio tracks:

Well that's interesting.

Can someone tell me which part is suppose to be "Michael'? They sound so similar.
0.00-0.09: Jason Malachi 'Do I Do'
0.10-0.17: supposedly Michael 'Soldier Boy'
0.17-0.24: Jason Malachi 'What does it take'
0.25-0.35: supposedly Michael 'Soldier Boy'
0.35-0.38: Jason Malachi 'What does it take'

Nope, it's "I wish a dream". But yes, Stella & Co. are mistaking even obvious MJ vocals for Jason, tells much...

*Edit* Lyrics are the same ("I used to dream"). My bad.

I haven't listened to it but why are you linking to "soldier boy"? you know it's not allowed in any shape and form right?

Score goes to Pentum. The lyrics are the same.

However Stella is losing a point for not recognizing Michael Jackson (and in previous postings Stella claimed that only 6 songs would feature copy-paste jobs which is not true, all 12 do).

I have never stated that at all. I have always stated that they all use Mj pastes.

lol What Does It Take is like almost the same song as Soldier Boy.

One interesting thing about Soldier Boy though, about the buildup to the chorus. This could be for or against the argument. "people stabbing your back as a matter of fact" is clearly James Porte singing, while "but they won't help you find..." Interesting how "Jason" sings the second build up but James does the first one. Probably more "proof" James had a lot to do with this song than the other Cascio tracks as it was supposedly written before the other tracks by him.

And what about what Birchey first said? That the "boyyy" background vocal is MJ. not sure about this as all the background vocals are so muddled up.

Some more proof: :p

Is that you Frankyboy? "yeaheheheheheheah".........lol.

An old quote from you Bumper:

One thing is sufficient to hear the oddest supposed MJ ever: the word "wai'ing" in STAY. Neither the voice timbre nor the accent is his.

Can't remember if this already is mentioned, but in 'What does it take' he also uses the word 'waiting' and pronounces it as 'wai'in.

http://muzofon.com/search/jason malachi

^^^^listen to 0.16 of 'What does it take' (feat C.M.)sampler. It very clear to hear.

This page throws Michael and Jason on one big pile, btw...

There's one at 1:31 as well. Waiin pronounced exactly the same as in the Cascio tracks. Michael never used that pronounciation.

This has advantages btw...;D

The more I listen to the songs, the more I notice.

For example Jason in 'DJ don't stop' acapella at 2.44 "I wanna dance all night": his staccato (affected? , I don't know how to describe it) way of singing. Same as in 'They could put around the world today, He wanna' write my obituary' from Breaking News. It stands out to me. I can't remember Michael ever singing this way.

It would be real Breaking News. Can you imagine?...The Estate of Michael Jackson not recognizing the voice of the man they represent? HUGE Breaking News. And that's the whole problem. Of course such news can never get out.

You can try to protect and keep Michael's legacy alive as much as you want, but I would think that at least they know the basic, his voice? And honor that? And then the cans, dvd's, books, etc.

But maybe I'm too naive.

Sometimes I don't know what to think anymore, to be honest.

Once this gets to page 3000, hopefully we'll have resolved this and can finally put a close to this thread.

Don’t want to write a whole story on the chat, so I’ll do it in here.
Sorry to hear the Cascio songs issue is the major topic of frustration in this forum. That same topic is the reason I joined this forum. Here I met fans who think alike.
I read a lot of posts on the whole forum (not only the Cascio thread), and occasionally I see warnings from mods to not discuss the songs and do it where it belongs, but I didn’t know it was that bad that fans are leaving because of it and there are so many complaints..:(. If fans disagree on that subject, then they are very welcome in The Debate Thread.
I’m tired of a lot of subjects too that come up, but I don’t complain to you. Then why is that subject such a problem that fans complain? Because it’s boring? Repetitive? If I would complain to you every time a subject is repeated on here, you’d throw me out of the forum..:D. I’d rather bite my tongue, than complain to you, because I love freedom of speech and tolerance. Only thing I do is thank a little here and there.
Maybe The Estate is listening, I also believe they will, but that’s not enough. We want more. And the frustration of not getting answers and powerlessness ‘doubters’ feel is only increasing (I’m speaking for myself, but I believe most ‘doubters’ feel the same). And yeah, that can be felt throughout the whole forum.
But anyway, thanks for letting us know about the frustrations you and a lot of other fans have. I really had no idea is was that bad. Of course I'll take it to heart.

There is nothing wrong with venting your frustrations on this topic, but at the end of the day this unlike any other topic has been the poison of the whole board, derailing hundreds of threads and chat rooms,

We all have an opinion on this and no one person is right or wrong on it based on the little factual evidence we have in hand,

However to poison a whole board with any topic of opinion is wrong, all it will do is infuriate members and drive them away,

Which in this case is exactly what is happening.

I thought the talk was only in this thread. I don't see how that's poisoning the whole board. Besides, we aren't to blame for this. We didn't start this mess. A lot of people underestimate how big this issue is to the so called "doubters". This is very stressful to us believe it or not and I think our feelings should be considered too. It's because we are not merely "doubters". We are people that believe with every fibre of our being that Michael is not singing those songs. We "know" he is not singing those songs. Whether some agree or not, we stand by that. As it stands, those song are going to go down in history as Michael Jackson recordings. Sorry, but I'm not having it. Simply not releasing any more of the recordings and saying behind the scenes that you made a mistake isn't good enough. And that is why we can not let it rest because we feel the injustice is just too enormous. I think sooner or later something is going to happen that will blow this case wide open and I want to be here when that happens.

No its not mate, or at least wasn't until my team and me continually step in and delete threads and posts in other area's.

As a for instance and who said it please do not think I'm targeting you its purely the one on my mine right now.

A member said in chat oh I so can not wait for the next album please let it be before Christmas 2013, innocently as a fan of Michael's wanting to hear more music yet someone straight after pipped up with I bet 10 bucks it will have Cascios on it someone else then states better not or I'm not buying it totally putting down that original fans excitement and derailing the chat,

This happens all over the place, so please put yourselves in their place why cant they have any enjoyment celebrate Michael in the way they want,

So again all I ask is please for the sake of our community think before you say put yourself in their shoes and think would you like it, is it the right place the right thread.

We're not a dictatorship, we honour free speech but rules are rules and at the end of the day its the longevity of the forum that's at stake here, surely we all must agree that we would not want to jeopardise this place.

Oh an on the note of blame, neither did we (MJJC) start this mess so allow us the same respect as we have you by allowing this two year debate to continue. the fact here is your actions are on the wrong doorstep Sony and the estate are the ones to blame not MJJC and its us that's being affected, that's not justice.

Thanks for listening, carry on as you all were.

I think all of that is just evidence of how much this situation has damaged the Michael Jackson fan community and none of the fans are to blame. This is a historic, unprecedented event in music. It's not going to go away any time soon, I think that's obvious by now.

There is nothing more than an extreme jealously toward Cascio family. Reading 2300 Jackson Street thread it easy to "discover" that all the doubters are vivid fans of the Jacksons and just can't stand it that MJ "abandoned" his family (brothers and nephews) in the studio. Instead he did choose to spend his time not only privately but professionally with his "adopted" family. All the "proofs" doubters are trying to present on this forum to disqualified MJ's involvement in the recording "Cascio's songs" are more and more fake and done with such "hard work" that is overdone. After working so hard on "producing" the "proofs" I would expect more sincere creativity. I'm so positive that all the dilemma with not hearing Michael Jackson on the so called Cascio's songs is the subconscious issue for most of the doubters ( why more than 90% of you are such devoted fans of Jackson5 and The Jacksons? ) that I started to think (as the former music journalist who plan to return to publishing field when retiring early from more stable and prolific venture) about the book on the subject. I have absolutely no problem with publishing it in my original country. And my publisher always is giving me the option to reach the other markets but it involve really big time commitments and I'm choosing my family now. However it's really fascinating subject and soon or later will be more professionally explored. Especially I can't wait for a serious media interview with Jason Malachi because it seems that the doubters are on their way to make him bigger star than J. Bieber when analyzing his every song and stage performance. Do you know that not so long ago only locally known singer is now recognized all around the world only because some Michael Jackson's fans think it's him singing as MJ on officially released album. Don't you think that if this would be true then Jason Malachi would be a multi millioner by now and the most wanted controversial celebrity on the market. Please use more common sense in your future conspiracy theories.

Sorry, this is the most ridiculous thing I've heard of. First of all, what reason would I have to be 'jealous' of the Cascios? I'm a MICHAEL JACKSON FAN, not a Cascio fan, not a Jacksons/Jackson 5 fan. They're not my concern, they never were. You say ALL the doubters are vivid fans of the Jacksons? And you can tell this by the 2300 Jackson Street threads? Please, tell me the last time I ever posted in there.

I don't care if it's Jason Malachi on those songs, or the Pope, doesn't make a bit of difference to me. It doesn't matter WHO is singing on those songs, it matters who is NOT. I've said this until I am blue in the face, along with a lot of other doubters. It is not my fault you seem to have trouble comprehending that.

Enough with the psycho-analysis, if I wanted one, I'd PM you and ask you personally for your consultation.

WE DON'T HEAR MICHAEL JACKSON ON THOSE SONGS. Clear and simple.

Personally attacking others is so low. I don't know why you are wasting your time. It's better spent with your family, as you said.

All right, thanks. :)

Here's a screen capture of the Facebook page in question, for those who didn't get a chance to see it:

Hopefully Jason's still workin' on that new album.

I checked out the song on his reverbnation, undeniably the same voice from all of the "cascio" songs, he must have turned to gospel music because he feels guilty about tarnishing michael's music and taking advantage lol

What?????????????? I've never ever liked the Jacksons or the Jackson 5 more than Michael's solo work. I got into the Jacksons/Jackson 5 after loving Michael's music. I enjoy lots of their songs, like Lovely One, Blues Away, Style Of Life, etc. but I am definitely not even near close to obsessed with their music... I don't even know much of it's history beyond what I read in Moonwalk.

And I've never had any jealousy towards the Cascio's or any reason to judge them as bad people or anything. All I know is the songs don't sound like Michael. It has nothing to do with Michael's family or the Cascio's and to think that is just plain nonsense.

I don't know why people are deserting the board, but there are two things that are certain:

1. True fans will always stay true fans and they will always need a place where they can talk about MJ and read the news about MJ, a place like this one.

2. The Cascio mess was created the day SONY streamed Breaking News. That mess till today hasn't been solved despite the vehement protest from the very first day, and it can't just be forgotten as if nothing happened. On the contrary, if the fans can't talk about it or are treated as Cascio haters being jaelous and don't feel welcome, they will, as a consequence, unfortunately leave the place.

To true fans MJ hasn't died musically speaking, so if the fans have been leaving the forum I don't think it is due to his death. Also, the fact that when speaking about the forthcoming album some people fear the tracklist, it is because the Cascio mess hasn't been solved and has been tried to be put under the rug as if nothing had happened.

How can people be excited about the forthcoming soup in the same restaurant if they had already been served a soup with three hairs that have never been removed from it? The fear of being served extra hair prevents the joy of receiving the soup that was supposed to be a delight.
