^^^ Marcus sings this song with a very thick foreign accent to me. The pronounciation is not good IMO
But he does sound very good. I guess people who are not american can't hear the accent .. I dont know ?

Ps: If I would have produced that song, I would've hold back on that computer drum. That is the only thing annoying to me. But for the rest..very nice.

I was just listening to Speed Demon (Nero remix) in my car. Honestly, they should make a video and release this song. It's a bomb and does justice to MJ. I am pretty sure it would be quite successful. Nero did a great job here, contrary to Afrojack.

I agree. This was before the release of Bad25, it was a new remix by Nero but the general audience here loved it.

Like always... Bad 25 is underrated, believe me. It's a great album, but unfortunately it had not so good sales. :(

They could release this mix as single. But it's off topic.
 
IMO the mix is not good enough for a video release. It's to repetetive and included almost nothing from the original version. There's tons of cool sounds in SD and with the multis, he should've made it better.

It was cool the first 10 times, but since then I haven't even been tempted to listen to it again..

I completely disagree :p

Nero focused on the rhythmic part of the song. He refreshed and accentuated the vibes. He managed to put forward the uniqueness of MJ's rock and deep voice which is MJ's signature all over the BAD album. When you hear his voice in Smooth Criminal, in BAD, in Just Good Firends, and in recently unreleased material Al Capone and Price Of Fame, his deep more-rock-than-on-Thriller voice is all over those songs.

Also, Nero was clever enough not to remove the trumpets and wind instruments, which is extremely difficult nowdays. Almost no song contain trumpets nowadays. He preserved all the important characteristics of the song, contrary to Afrojack who despite being in the studio where MJ recorded BAD, had apparently extremely weak inspiration.

And finally, he didn't get into the trap to make te remix long. It's as short as any standard song, which is also a good point.

IMO, he did a very good job, and a refreshed video with the Bunny from Moonwalker is completely feasable, it could even boost Moonwalker dvd sales and make people dance in the clubs and elsewhere.

But many seem to have lost faith in MJ's potential post humous success. It is time someone with some more faith in magic took over MJ's releasable material. Where has the magic gone? Releasing MJ's material without faith in magic is like giving your kids gifts from Santa Claus and forgetting to take your kids see Santa Claus with their own eyes.

I agree totally with your post. Speed Demon from Bad25 is just excelent. I hoped that it will get noticed after little piece was presented during Dancing With The Stars MJ's episode but it didn't happened.

But if it would be promoted in the good video or in the good movie then definitelly it would catch a lot new fans from general public.

To each their own of course, and judging by the response the remix got on here, most people seem to agree with you. But personally I really disagree, especially with the bolded parts. The core of Speed Demon to me is its funky rhythm, driven by the drums, bass, and MJ's beatbox. This is exactly why I love this song. Nero preserved the latter to some extent, but replaced the original drums and bass with an extremely uninspired drum pattern and arpeggiated synth bass, thereby (imo) completely stripping the song of its original groove. It also lacks everything that I like about dubstep. And I also think the mix is a bit sloppy. For instance, you can still hear the original guitar quite clearly in the background during the verses. And as for the trumpets you mentioned: Nero did keep them, but listen how sloppily they are mixed in at 2.54.

In any case, although I enjoy some MJ remixes, they almost always pale in comparison to the original. I would much rather see the focus on MJ's own work. If a remix can help doing that, great, but I think the work MJ left behind himself should always be the main point of focus.

I of course agree that the original is the best. I however see this remix as Nero's work in which he added MJ's Speed Demon in order to make sound Nero's mix great and not the other way round. I mean by that that I see it as MJ helping out Nero's remix and I don't see it as Nero helping out MJ's Speed Demon. It is thanks to MJ's genious voice, way of singing, rhythm that Nero could make this remix. Despite some little flaws you mentioned it is far better than any Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, or nowdays songs, that's why i thought that this could have been a hit if properly worked on and released.

I alsohave tomention that I have been buying all MJ's remixes since the 80s (extended, remixes, etc), and I am rarely impressed by the remixes. More and more I realize that Afrojack dida terrible job. Even the non official BAD TAG remix is better than Afrojack's.

But, what singles out Speed Demon is the adrenaline that it triggers. Impossible not to jam to it and get butterflies when the music all of sudden stops and the you hear MJ shout "GO!" and then this fast rhythm taking all over your body. Also, impossible not to feel good when you hear MJ's deep and husky voice in that remix. It's solid like a rock. This remix IMO has an unexploited potential among people who love good rhythm and being boosted by adrenaline.

I think I speak for a lot of fans when I say that if I appreciate a remix I'm not saying in anyway that is better than the original song.

That is IMO, simply impossible. Especially when talking about MJ.
 
Did you know that there's a rap group named Cascio? I don't think they have anything to do with those Cascios but some of their songs titles are quite interesting. This one seems like an obvious admission:

Might not be a bad idea to move this to the debate thread cos it's like a red rag to a bull.

Michael wanted to work with 50 Cent on something cos he reached out to him on the phone, even though they never met. I don't think it was Monster though, for obvious reasons. I kinda feel sorry for 50.

And Howard Stern has said some disgusting things about Michael over the years. What a horrible man.

I already commented on this cos I thought it might be a good idea to move it to save any stress.

He doesn't actually say that Michael mentioned Monster. Just that he wanted to collaborate with him on something. The original Monster is a totally different song.
