Just the fact Justin Bieber was not on stage made me enjoy the performance!

Michael would love all of this attention, praise, hit singles, and #1 albums.

IMHO, anybody who doesn't realise that, doesn't understand what he was about.

Yes, if Michael was here thngs would be different. But he isn't. The fact that he is still able to top the charts all over the world is down to the music he left behind, and the vision of the people he left it with.

The future of Michael Jackson is for the whole world to share - not just a few hundred 'hardcore' fans who spend all their lives nit-picking on forums because their hero is dead.

Get over it, and get a life.

Your attitude suggests that we should be entirely happy with whatever is thrown our way without being able to question, discuss or criticise without having people like you come down like a wet blanket.

People aren't nit picking because their hero is dead, they are nit picking because this is a Michael Jackson forum, not a "Keep SmoothMJ happy" forum".

And you telling people to get a life is absolutely ridiculous. Every thread I've gone into today I've seen your ramblings and you are still at it.

Nobody will enjoy everything that an artist does. That is impossible.

I don't like everything that Michael did as an artist, but that doesn't make me not a fan. If people don't like this era, just let those who enjoy it, enjoy it.

So basically

This is about 0% Michael Jackson.

The only thing real here are the vocals. Nothing else is him.

Interestingly, while everyone's mouth open with the hologram while fans are disgusted in the majority. For me it was good, just that. :)

He is in Forest Lawn, don't tell me you expected him to get up and perform

As a huge promotional opportunity for Xscape to enter the music buying consciousness of the general public, the event was PHENOMENAL. And yet, as a huge fan who has watched and studied Michael for years, the performance was underwhelming for me. I kept saying, "That's not Michael's face." My expectations were too high, I guess. I'm just being honest.

I'm ELATED for the continuing positive coverage by the media for all things related to Xscape, especially here in the US. It's a breath of fresh air.

Well at least the reviews are very positives in the media, Even here (Dutch Antilles, Curacao) they are talking about it, Xscape Album and Slave To the Rhythm

We can not all be happy about every release, every song, every performance, every video they make, Cirque du Soleil etc.

And that's fine. - As long as there is something for all of us to enjoy.

This hologram performance was not the best for me personally. (I love how it helps promote MJ and makes people talk!) do I hate this performance just because it did not look like MJ 100 % - NOT AT ALL !! It was ok, and they tried.
Next time they will do better maybe, make his face look more natural. - And the moonwalk was off. - His signature move failed, they need to get that right next time.

MJ is alive. - All newspapers write about him, he dominates the charts, the radio, twitter, facebook etc. etc.

Let's celebrate Michael Jackson

I think some people are just annoyed that Justin Beiber DIDN'T perform with the hologram.

They were all prepared for that, but it took away a lot of their wailing and gnashing of teeth. Bless them.

Still, they seem to be doing well, creating a shitstorm out of nothing again.

Most people love it. SOme people are saying "creepy" because MJ is gone and to see something like that that has him looking alive freaks some folks out. I liked what one radio host said just morning, "MJ brings more excitment to the stage in death and in hologram form than some performers alive and on stage". PRICELESS.

Agreed. - When some say creepy I do not think it is all negative. More like weird seeing a dead person perform in front of you.

But the more people talk about it the better. - It will make more people watch the performance and hear the song. - Some might like it and buy it. - Some might even buy Xscape !

A nice 'balanced' view Hess.

WTF would you want to waste you time on something you obviously don't like?

That THAT's obsessive! :busted:

Because they DO like Michael Jackson, but don't like what's happening now. They are Michael Jackson fans so they are not wasting their time, they are investing their time and effort into something they love.

The only person who is obsessed here is you and everyone can see it, even the people who share your opinions can see it. But you obviously want to be the 'hero' and the one who speaks out and saves the day! Give me a break. I'm embarrassed for you.

It was not, MJ's impersonators are the worst shit ever, you can definitely tell that was his body structure.
No that was not Michael's body . That was evident to me. but was close. They cant use MJ footage to create this, they use a live model for the CGI Image for holograms. Michael never danced in that costume or sang that song. . I think you may misunderstand the technology. They have too use a model to dance. then they can try to project his facial image to make it look more like MJ and they could have used a dancer that is closer to how MJ walked and would execute the moves. That is something they need to perfect. BUT ... what they did on that stage with the MJ image created with the model was amazing . it looked like he was really dancing on the stage. The setting he was in ws beautiful. and the production was beautiful . This has Never been done before .. So in that respect it was historical and Awesome. Now they just need to perfect the image to look and dance more like MJ ... I dont get all the anger and hated from some though . I thought it was beautiful to watch . and did somewhat look like MJ .. Im sure even more so watching it live because it was not meant for the screen .

Even if MJ never danced in these clothes, it's possible for it to be just a 100% digital MJ with animated clothes (without a real person wearing them.)

Personally I think in this case it's quite likely an impersonator was involved in the creating process, though.

kinda off topic, but i went to billboards yesterday and the hologram was so good. i really enjoyed it , mj hard core are are not satisfied they had too high expectations...but to me it was billboard's highlight. also people behind me couldn;t stop talking about it saying it was the best performance of the night. right now 7:30 am so half america are not really awake...let's wait for a few more hours to truly see the billboard's effect. btw where will we know if mj gets #1 on album charts?

Interesting. From someone who was at the awards.

Who are you to question any other fan's love for MJ? And just because they have a different opinion than you? You are way out of line.

QFT.

I criticise this performance by the people behind the performance.
Nothing against other people.
Some people might call me a drama queen, but I'm not.
Why do people always have to give other people names if they don't agree with each other?

I bought the Xscape album, because I love original items.
I don't like all remixes, but I will give my opinion about it.
And I think I have the right to...right?

I am happy that Michael is back online, but I'm not happy with the results of a hologram which in my opinion didn't reflect the awesomeness of MJJ.

Okay guys get back to a discussion here, you have the right to post whatever you want about the thread subject at hand, please respect other peoples opinions, they will be different but thats what makes us human huh

Smooth, you are on fire today. You are cracking me up. But it's all good. Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. It's nice to see the passion on both sides from so many people. It just proves that the King is still relevant today, many years after his passing. I will never stop caring for or loving this man. He was everything

I agree people need to stop personally attacking others for their opinion. Its is not suppose to be allowed on the board anyway. Certainly you can disagree without all the insults and moral judgments. Please nix it, because its getting real aggravating and is actually derailing the thread. .

Let me ask you guys this: how many of you own one of these little Michael dolls? That is not Michael, is it? But you might still want to have it in your collection :) That might be the case with this hologram, or animation.

Oh, and that impersonator, Christopher bla bla, said something like: he was called to perform at an Xscape party because the hologram was not ready yet (What I understand of it is that, if the hologram would have been ready, they would have used that at the party, instead of an impersonator. Just what I think...)

Not at all! Oh no! I was falling asleep typinf that. What I was trying to say the moves should have been smooth and not been repetitive but no one can replace MJ as we all know that could have been better

That's not what they've said. They said it is completely new technology. No impersonator. And all computer programmed. The body and the head. Something like a video game.
