The Music Of Jermaine LaJaune

Lately I've been listening to the latest realease, LOVE SONGS by J5.
Jermaine is on lead vocals on the song "I'm So Happy" and he sings
his butt off on that track. :)

"I'm so happy I feel like singin' toodeloodelootootdoooo I'm so happy you saved your love...for meeeeeeeeeeeeee" :chillin: Thanks Silouette!

:)

If you Jermaine fans haven't heard Jermaine's version of Simon & Garfunkel's great classic Bridge Over Troubled Waters you're in for a treat.

None of the many versions of it makes me cry except this one. So much "old soul" to be so young.

Love the background vocals on this one too. The Jacksons collective voice is an amazing entity in itself. And you can hear MJ just a little ... so subtle ... so beautiful

:p I don't know for what, but you're welcome SoS!

And yes, I've listened to your favorite Jermaine song many times
and he does an excellent rendition. Great! :)

^ :D for highlighting another of my all time favorites, I'm So Happy

A lot of fans won't know these amazing songs unless we tell em.

I especially love when he says, "I'm so happy I feel like singin' ... toodleloo toot loot toot tooooooo"

Michael loved Jermaine's voice too, I forget who he told he said he was one of his all time favorite vocalists :chillin:

Old Jermaine songs

Hey, I just listened to Since I Lost My Baby, and I remembered how much I love Jermaine's voice when he was little. I think it was recorded in 1969. Can anyone recommend other songs that feature Jermaine's vocals from around this time or earlier? Not Steeltown songs though.. I can't do the old audio..

A long time since I've been on this thread or even this forum.

When's the Jermaine box set coming, damn it? Or even better, the full CD reissues of all of his Motown stuff? Amazing that his first album and Let's Get Serious are his only Motown albums that have EVER appeared officially on CD.

In recent years Motown has released albums that had never been on CD by Smokey Robinson & Eddie Kendricks in a series of 2 CD sets with 3 albums each. There was also a Tammy Terrel compilation with everything she had released including from other labels and some unreleased stuff too. There's a guy named Harry Weinger who's in charge of Motown reissues. I'm not sure why Jermaine's albums have not been reissued, at least the popular ones like Let Me Tickle Your Fancy. I don't think they're even out in Japan. Motown seems to focus mainly on 1960's era stuff and put out endless compilations of the same songs & acts.

^ Yeah, it's sad that it took an appearance by him in a damn reality show (Big Brother) here in the UK for even a compilation to be released of his Motown stuff in 2007. I have a few of the fake CD versions of his albums that were popping up on auction sites at some point, lol.

I'm sure that some of the smaller reissue labels like BBR will have enquired to Universal about that stuff and been knocked back, so maybe they're planning to give us everything all at once (as is now finally happening with Donna Summer's 1980s stuff) at some point in the next few years.

Do Unto Others

Here's some songs from Jermaine's unreleased Motown album Do Unto Others. I don't know where the poster got the songs.

March 2015 interview about songs on adult contemporary radio station

Good little interviews. Jermaine has a great voice, I think. I always forget how good it is and his songs are good too.

Let's Be Young Tonight

This clip is from a 1976 program called The Second Annual Rock Music Awards. This is on Jermaine's VEVO channel and has good video quality

I'm sure this has been posted before, (thread started in 2008), but I went over to Jermaine's VEVO channel and this popped up first. Love the song, and really love the video a la Robert Palmer. Cute!!! :)
