Is a massive "D25" box set about to be announced Monday?!

I'm still excited, I hope it is Dangerous 25, but I really don't expect it to be Dangerous 25. It as many said it will probably be Thriller 3D.

I wonder will this announcement happen at 8 GMT? I know it's delayed but they should give fans a heads up.

Rumour J has heard over at the MJ Cast;
"And I'm hearing rumours that the accompanying doco is about remastering the short film rather than the era itself. Um. Please no. J."

A mini documentary about the restoring of Thriller short film would be great in my opinion. I just hope that it's not the only extra. Maybe they should at least include all the Thriller era short films if they release it on Blu-Ray. Who would buy only one short film on Blu-ray or buy a re-release of the album?

The Making of Thriller would be a nice feature.

I mean I wouldn't mind it at all but would like the original Making of Thriller included and maybe some unseen footage from that Making of doc too. I hope it's not too bare bones and there's a decent amount with it.

I read a interview Stevie gave a few years ago where he mentioned he liked listening to The Beatles Anthology CDs. He said he enjoyed hearing the process of how the songs came along. If the destroying the tapes story is true, I wonder if Anthology had any influence on maybe changing his mind about it. He did approve the release of Buttercup by the J5. But he has never released any vault material other than a song (Feeding Off The Love Of The Land) used as a B-side for one of the Jungle Fever singles. The song was in the movie too. There's others that were re-recorded like Cryin' In The Night from Characters. The original version was recorded in the early 1970s.

There's already formats out there that never caught on with the mainstream like DAT tape, SACD, DVD audio, Blu-Ray audio, Dual layer CDs, etc. Since 1987 Stevie has only released 4 albums of new material and one is a soundtrack. Other than that there's the usual endless compilations Motown likes to release. Stevie has done guest appearances on other artists songs since 1987, often just playing harmonica such as Sting's Brand New Day.

****** tweeted that the Thriller 3D project has not been a smooth one and many of the people involved in the original video were not consulted or involved. As long as Mariah Carey, Justin Beiber and Questlove were consulted I'll be happy.

Everything feels so pear shaped already haha

Rumour on Facebook that it might have to do with Quincy since his trial starts today. It could be that they had everything settled and Quincy changed his mind at the last minute.
 
News like this!! I'm just gonna say it.. it would be awesome to have an MJJC app! not angry at not having one but imagine instead of refreshing the thread and reading pages.. we just wait for the alert!!

I can understand even support your mindset on how we get information to you all, however, there are two key issues. One is we are a non-profit organisation which we struggle just to pay for our servers (like we did last month, shortfall had to be added to this month) so seeking extra expenditure through app licences and developer builds is completely impossible. Second, the estate is not even communicating with us anymore (not had any of the recent announcements to our email addresses) so we could not even bring you any updates even if we wanted to.

I notice this announcement says delayed and not postponed. One would think delayed would the announcement is still coming either today or tomorrow, no? It also says 'slight delay' which makes me think we won't have to wait long.

It was supposed to come 6 and a half hours ago, so we've already waited a long time by now
 
I just sent an email asking if Alicia could clarify what "delayed slightly" means. Doubt she will but *fingers crossed*

That's exactly my point. If we're not assuming when the announcement will be then six and a half hours or so isn't a very long time, especially if the announcement is days/weeks away.
