Controversial MJ Documentary Leaving Neverland [GENERAL DISCUSSION THREAD]

This person is a troll, pure and simple. He/she is here to divide and dissuade real fans. Btw, what this person is spewing is noT true. I see much more positive comments than I do negative ones. So don’t fall for the BS that Demon is spewing. He/she has an agenda.
I agree. Also, this "backlash" seem to be more media driven than public. Yeah there are haters and a few doubters (that is always going to be the case with everyone) but I do not see or hear no backlash.

I believe at the end of the day, it shouldn’t matter what others think. As long as you have MJ in your heart, and he’s celebrated in your own ways, no one can take that away. Even though the vibe right now is negative and tense, it’s only a matter of ignoring/being indifferent to the outside garbage.

Yeah. But I can't help it, the injustice of Michael's name and legacy being so heavily tainted by this is hard to take. I'm concerned that the avoidance of him by radio, companies, etc., will stick, purely because of the risk of of backlash. I mean they have no incentive to promote him after this.

Sorry but I’ve got to put a word in for Speed Demon 87s defence here.
It’s clear he/she is a genuine fan. You need to stop getting all offended and defensive of what they’re saying just because you don’t agree with it or you consider it negative.
This is a discussion forum, they should be able to state their opinions without being attacked and people calling for them to be banned.

I don't think Speed Demon is particularly good at putting their point across, apart from that,it just seems continuously negative.

I personally would never call for anyone to be banned, that's up to the powers that be.

Honestly... I just think we are all wound up with the constant crap we have had to out up with as MJ fans the last couple of weeks.

This shit is bothering every one of us,fans are getting bent out of shape with other fans, some are even having a go at Paris.....this is not normal,we are all stressed.

Let's all try to get along because we are stronger as one MJFAM.

Just my two cents.

Speed, when all this blow over, they will put it back. Ryan Seacrest went through this, Anthony Anderson, etc. People are waking up for those who were duped (others did not want to see the trash. The doc was a ratings flop compare to the advertising they got). And the people who are hating on him now were doing it before. MJ will be ok. As for MJ music being Ax from X factor, that was in a tabloid site. And looking at the comments on Thriller live for the month of Feb and March, people are loving it with great reviews from the PULBIC.

I agree. The media made it seemed like it was a huge hit for them, even though in reality it flopped all over the world. His music is still being played on the radio in Atlanta, especially the old school radio stations. Even though it's very tiring to go through this again, this time around, we got this.

I AGREE WITH YOU!!!! :listeningtomusic

I wish the film "flopping" was all it took. But we live in a world of streaming, watching later than the air date and so on.

This "documentary" really hit at the worst time.

1.) #MeToo and "Believe Victims". Any questions asked is taboo and frowned upon. You could lose your career over it.
2.) Millennials love documentaries. All the Netflix, HBO documentaries become popular phenomenons. "Did you watch 'Making a Murderer'?? And the 'Ted Bundy Tapes'??" Documentaries really have become kind of a craze and are very much seen as a definitive take on a subject by our culture, now.
3.) Because of the #MeToo era and the politics surrounding sexual assault - the public feels they're more informed and smarter about victim-hood than in 2005 and prior. That's why you see the word "Grooming" thrown around and people acting as if "X and Y were him GROOOOOOMINNNNGGG" since the documentary aired. Plus, people becoming aware how victims act really gave Safechuck/Robson the benefit of the doubt in the eyes of the public. Everyone is an expert now.
4.) Also, the public's awareness of how abuse affects victims in recent years gave Robson and Safechuck some information by proxy on how to portray themselves and say all the right things to sell themselves as genuine.
5.) Social media/news outlets being able to get things (mistruths/lies) out even faster than before.

Wish I had taken a screenshot of it but...

Earlier on Twitter I saw a comment about how someone met a guy from TMZ at Sundance. The guy didn't believe the mockumentary at all but he wasn't allowed to write that for TMZ. Nothing but bad stuff is what he was allowed to write.

Not surprising at all, but still... wow. I'll try to find the tweet.
Interesting. I think there's something to this.
I have been watching TMZ Live off and on since 2009-TMZ became more "reputable" just for breaking the Michael Jackson story and they were even featured on 60 Minutes here-Harvey went on about how they have sources in the hospitals and court rooms around the country-and of course, paps like X-17 feed them stories.

When Wade first came out, TMZ absolutely ridiculed him for his "repressed memory" story. Wade happened to be on film heading to NYC for his Matt Lauer interview and said to watch TMZ for any information. That was, of course, before he realized they were laughing at him, and continued to do so, and he turned to Radar Online to get his filthy garbage out to sway opinion.

NOW, since the doc, I have noticed a huge change in TMZ. They are no longer laughing. The three main guys on the show are talking sympathetically about Wade and James-it's a total 180. Why?
We know that HBO was recently bought by AT&T and the mandate is to get their profits UP. This week TMZ said something about their show and the network they are on also being bought by AT&T. ??? So is there some kind of connection-I think so.

Last month I would have believed their story on Paris. They always know when someone is in the hospital and why-first ones to break the news when someone dies. But today, it seems it was totally bogus. Paris was seen this afternoon going to KFC and the movies (her dad would have loved that) and you don't do that if you tried to kill yourself or on a 5150 hold. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but HBO and TMZ are somehow connected.

A polnish amphitheatre who is named after MJ want remove his name and an MJ memorial which is inside the theater.
Polnish fans should protest against this and send them videos with the exposed lies.

Who was TSCM? I don't remember them.
One of the legendary posters from the trial era. Like respect. A fountain of knowledge when it comes to court documents etc.

The media as normal are trying tp push the gen public down down the path of opinion that they want to hear. They are the ones who started to "ask" the question of muteing mj.it is done on purpose to put a thought that never excisted in the first place into peoples subconscience and to create a debte when there wasnt one. The public then responded by pushing mjs record sales through the roof compaired to pre docu airing especially in the U.K. the public gave their answer to the attempted brainwashing by the media.

I do agree it's mostly the media being anti-Michael and even then it's only certain media outlets since I haven't heard anything from MSNBC about this doc at all and CNN talked about it a little after it aired and then never mentioned it again. Even then, there have been some outlets like Wendy who out right said she didn't believe a word of it and you can't call her crazy MJ fan since she used to slam him all the time even after he died.

The general response seems to be indifference. I doubt this doc actually changed anyone's minds. Those who thought he was guilty of something believes the doc, while those who believed he did nothing are not swayed. Those on the fence seemed to disliked how one-sided it was.

This amphitheatre don't they have the competence and ability to make a critical, thorough and questionable research and evaluation of these three men and their mockumentary at all? Aren't they wondering why they don't hear the story from the defense side in the mockumentary, like interview real people? Does a one-sided mockumentary bear more weight than a trial that rendered Not Guilty-verdict for Michael? What about Brandis testimony, FBI investigation, court documents and all the contradictive lies? It is so tragic that these entities like the amphitheatre get so easily manipulated and blinded by this media material like it is the truth and the gospel and you almost must become a fan of Michael to come up with refutable evidence to them.

I hope that the estate has the destination to expose this two liars mostly publically before June 25.
I don't want that the media can use this day for something evil like oprah who wanted the people to say goodbye to Michael.
It should not the day who the media can call out to bury MJs Lagecy.

Did they not realise he was accused several times before. This sudden shock horror is pathetic

Maybe we need to start inundating FACTS to all of these idiots. They seem too stupid and lazy to research for the truth. In fact, everytime we hear of someone removing a Michael memorial, the facts need to be sent to them. It may not help; however, it can’t hurt either. I would bet that None of these morons know anything except what the media has fed them.

Perez Hilton (lol) was on Twitter yesterday spewing all kinds of nonsense about six kids in total now and John Ziegler nicely put him in his place. He had also linked to a article of his about TMZ's lie that Paris had attempted suicide with the headline "Paris must have known her father was guilty." while this was long after that lie had been exposed already.

I called his ass out, said that this says a lot more about him than it says about Michael and Paris and that he's a sad excuse for a journalist. But that's nothing new. The assclown liked that tweet. It's all for attention for sad individuals like him. Basically a one man TMZ he is.

This is a very good objective video from a woman who explains how documenteries manipulates people and why we should not blindly belive in them:

Please stop quoting SpeedDemons constant negative posts.- I end up seeing each post repeatedly throughout the thread. Stop giving this person the attention they’re seeking. They’ve been told time and time again that there’s a seperate thread for those type of posts. Yet the poster is deliberately ignoring that. If speed demon replies to this I won’t be responding. Not going to clog this thread up with anymore rubbish. Please can posters try and do the same and stop having arguments with SpeedDemon. The arguments make the forum so boring and negative and I stop coming on it.Prefer to be in twitter than on here when

UK SALES - Week Ending 14 March
In the first full week since the damning four-hour documentary Leaving Neverland was screened on Channel 4, sales of Michael Jackson albums have increased considerably. 2003 compilation Number Ones jumps 61-28 (2,770 sales) to achieve its highest chart position for 106 weeks, while 2005 compilation The Essential climbs 168-97 (1,252 sales). 1987 studio set Bad and 1982’s Thriller return to the Top 200, at No.110 (1,147 Sales) and No.141 (978 sales) respectively. Overall sales of Jackson albums last week increased 210.21% to 21,389. In stark contrast, radio is turning away from Jackson. In the four weeks leading up to the screening of the documentary, the 423 stations tracked by Radio Monitor aired an average of 4,174 tracks by Jackson every week (4,214, 4,151, 4,254 and 4,076). That fell to 1,989 in the week the programme was screened, and to just 221 in the latest frame – just 5.29% of the average for those four weeks.

Huge sales increase! Sales tripled compared to prior week.

Find the truth abt Michael Jacobshagen here:

This video must go viral. It must be seen by so many people as possible.
I made the proposal under the video to hand it out it to a Big MJ related channel like "Michael Jackson Remastered Videos" or a chanel who is working on exposing "Leaving Neverland" like "Michael Jackson Allegations" or the "Michael Jackson Innocent Project"!
This video needs to be in the comment sections under every video were Michael Jacobshagen is mentioned.
And the comment must get so many likes as possible to be reconized by the visitors.

It is well made but I think they could have cut it better.
