What's the max you think Invincible could have sold overall

Ah okay, I like to see that!
Invincible contains 16 songs, which all together last 77 minutes. The mood of the album changes throughout, starting with the hard hitting “Unbreakable”, which transitions to the dubstep-like “Heartbreaker”.

Rodney definitely took major influence from Timbaland when he started working with MJ. Just listen to this song he produced for Brandy on her 2002 Full Moon album:
Sounds a lot like "Heartbreaker", and by extension, Timbaland productions like "Pony", "Are You That Somebody", "None of Your Friends' Business", etc. Those songs aren't dubstep; as someone else said, they' just influenced by drums 'n bass. Dubstep evolved from drums 'n bass, but MJ was nowhere near the first major artist to have elements of drums 'n bass in his music.

And even if "Heartbreaker" is dubstep, no reason to give MJ for that. If anything, it would just be Rodney's accomplishment as he produced the song; MJ had little input on it as with many tracks on the album.

And even if "Heartbreaker" somehow was dubstep, why give MJ credit for that? If anything, it would just be Rodney's accomplishment as he produced the song; MJ had little input on it as with many songs on the album.
It was pretty much necessary to make that Timbaland sound style.

It's like saying, that all Michael's songs from Bad album sound like 80s music, lol. You know, that Mike always try to make music in some of modern styles. But STILL he always did it in HIS way! That's why it always was pretty innovative. Heartbreaker song are not similar to Pony. There is only one a little bit similar sound. that's all! Heartbreaker is rapid, dubstep song, with Michael beatboxing on the background. It's is unique.

It can be tricky to find out how much an album really sells. The official, certified numbers could be at like 6m, but people end up inflating it as high as 13m as they did with Invincible.

It's impressive that it managed to be the ninth best-selling album worldwide in 2001, with 5.4m sold that year. That's even more than Janet's All for You. But not many albums released in 2001 sold over 10m. Shaggy's Hot Shot, Destiny Child's Survivor, Jennifer Lopez's J Lo, Janet's All for You, Usher's 8701, 'N Sync's Celebrity, Britney Spears' Britney, etc ... none of these albums sold over 10m despite how overhyped they may be by various media outlets. Do people really think MJ at 40-something could have outsold all of these younger artists in the long run?

Bad sold less than Thriller, Dangerous sold less than Bad, History sold less than Dangerous ... Invincible obviously wasn't going to sell more than History, which sold 10m. Anyone who thinks it would have done better than that isn't realistic.

That's not true. History sold 20m, Invincible sold 4.6m. With decent promotion it could easily sell 10-15m.

History sold 20m, Invincible sold 4.
History only sold 10m as one package and Invincible shipped 5.4m in 2001:

I doubt there's such a discrepancy between units sold and units shipped, so I'm pretty sure that the album ultimately sold at least that much. 6m is probably the very most you could highball it, although Chartmasters says it sold 6.4m:
But I don't see what could have caused it to sell 1m after February 2002. There were no further singles, videos of appearances to promote the album; the "Sony Sucks" campaign did nothing and not even MJ's death revived sales. Actual sales of Invincible are most likely 5.4-6m.

Invincible was a classic. From start to finish there isn't a song on it that isn't a classic. Eh... Unbreakable with biggie is meh because of biggie but the album is a classic. Judge me all y'all want but it's better than Thriller. Yes better than Thriller. His vocals on Invincible lawwwwwwwd my heart hurts from them vocals. He needed you to feel them lyrics. Speechless. Don't walk away. Whatever Happens. Y'all don't understand I'm a stan for Invincible. I was born in the 90's but the first CD that I actually bought and owned was Invincible the white copy. You know the babies came in different colors. I also owned all his other CD and I'm sorry IMO his songs on Invincible slayed Thriller. Maybe R&B Mike is my Mike because now thinking Dangerous and Off the Wall are tied for second place for me. Keep the Faith which is more gospel/ polish/r&b ish has one of the most special places in my heart because it really spoke to me.

What's unique about beatboxing? You must not be aware of Human Beat Box from The Fat Boys or Doug E. Fresh. They were around in the 1980s.
