In all honesty no one will really know until we see it :pardon: I ordered it but it had nothing to do with Michael having input on it, I just like collector item type stuff, I have tons of mags, newspapers and books from all kinds of significant happenings that occurred in my lifetime (9/11, katrina, etc.) sealed and protected not only for me but for my future kiddies, the fact that it's totally about Michael and he holds a special place in my heart and life just gave me that extra boost to buy it. I'd rather have it now than want it next year and not be able to find it for less the 500 bucks. For those of you who want something special but not as expensive, I did see an "opus like" book in the bookstore, it was like 50 bucks but it looked nice, had a protective case and all, I have no idea what the content is though because I was in a rush and didn't look to see. It was an actual book, not a mag like the commemorative editions. Anyway, that's just my outlook on it. I'll definitely read through it once and then it will likely go in my display to keep it protected.

Hello to all that's on.

hiiiiiii Serenity!!!! where did you see the opus like book? i may check it out if its at barnes n noble at lunch tomorrow

Limon, I totally understand, I get rid of stuff all the time  mostly clothes and random books and stuff like that. I don't buy a lot of fiction type stuff because once I read it I remember it forever, but truth (history) can always be used as a reference. I don't buy nicknacks  I absolutely hate those things, I like larger sculptures tho, if it's like 3 inches tall it's not coming in my house  but I'm a history buff for the most part, what's the use in working if you can't buy what you want right??? To me, that's the entire point lol. I have totally random stuff, like brand new 2 dollar bills in sequential order and new "old" twenties and hundreds, silver dollars too. Ask me why? I dunno
Now, if my kids hock it when I'm dead and gone, then that's cool too I guess  I already know they're going to HATE reading/history cuz I love it too much and well, if they see money they're just gonna spend it

yea i was looking on famous footwear website earlier today and was like damm i have to have those! they have some cute ass boots right now!

they have a pair with little buttons in 2 rows that go up. i almost got those but once i tried them on didnt like them as much...i have a boot fetish.. think i own over 30 pairs :lmao:

JAG, I was in Books a Million, I'll see if I can find it in their online store  I know the opus was like  or some people and I took note of that book for that very reason, I'll edit this post if I find it

See ya later Limon

EDIT:

Michael Jackson Vault : A Tribute to the King of Pop 1958-2009 (Hardcover)
by David Lifton

I think this is it, now if it isn't a snap case with the book inside the case it's not the same, like I said I don't know what the content is cuz I didn't look in it. Both Amazon and BAM have it online for 33 bucks, that's about 160 bucks cheaper than the opus

Someone's Review from Amazon:

If it gets better than this book, point me in that direction. This is definitely a tribute to Michael Jackson and certainly, a keepsake. If you didn't purchase all of the many magazines featuring tributes and memoriam's, don't bother. Make this your purchase instead. What's in it? Photographs galore. Quality photographs. It begins with the beginning of MJ's career which would include, of course, the Jackson 5. You can get up close and personal with the J5 all over again. There's lots of trivia questions, that if you don't know, the book answers for you in its running commentary. Yes, there is a story to this massive legacy book. Replica's of just about everything you can think of is inside this book and things you can't. There is even the replica of MJ's will, death certificate, famiy tree, even a letter from President Ronald Reagan. The book is jammed with information; when his singles and albums came out, when he did concert dates, a list of his awards, an invite to Neverland. It took me more than an hour to get through this book and I still haven't read every scrap of information. There is a complete discography, quotes from Michael, celebrity friends and ex-wives are included.

What you don't get is a lot of tabloid fodder, which I found refreshing. Yet, the book expands his entire career. If, by some miracle, you missed his memorial, it's in the book too. Nothing seems to be missing, all territory is covered. Included are mini books and postcards. The packaging to this lovely, coffee table book ccomes with a slipcase. My inner book was not shrink-wrapped, but in fine condition. It is a great conversation piece and anyone who picks it up won't be able to put it down. At this amazing price and amazing quality, I don't see how it can be improved upon. Who is this book for? Anyone who is a fan, naturally.

You got me rolling laughing :hysterical: see, the thing I always have too much is fiction... and some other real stuff books too, but fiction/fiction/fiction. I am always depressed when I have to give away even ONE! and always afraid of another moving in or moving out! My future kids can probably exchange email addresses with your future kids to bitch "MY MOTHER IS A F FREAK SHE CONSUMES BOOKS GET ME OUTTA HERE!" :toofunny:

okay I really need to go......!!! nite

Oreeeeeeoooooo cheeesecake yuuuummmyyyy can you throw a piece over the Atlantic right here? I just live on the other side of this pond, the way is pretty straightforward!

*puts out her hands and looks West hopefully* :p

***throws cake across the atlantic in one of those message in a bottle type deals... more like cake in a bottle***

Awful, isn't it? And I can't drive so it's not like I can just get up, hop in the car, and go somewhere when I feel like it. I have to rely on people to get to places, so if there's nothing going on, I'm screwed. And when I'm home doing nothing, I think about all that stuff and it's just not good.

Oh my gosh, sounds oh so yummy. I hope you enjoy it :) I've been awful with the sweets the past couple of months since Michael's passing. I'm always (and am right now) craving something sweet. Like now I could go for some Vanilla Bean Cheesecake from TGI Friday's, bread pudding from Famous Dave's, Peanut Butter Cup Perfection or Cookie Doughn't You Want Some from Coldstone Creamery....*drools* I thought for sure I'd be gaining weight but each time I go to the nutritionist I keep finding I'm losing. WTF?

 I wish that was the case for me. I've definitely gained weight since June 25. I've always been an emotional eater but this has been pretty bad. Just hoping things get back to normal soon...

is this a cheescake we all talk about here? :p :p :p

I would have a piece too! Pretty please! :give_heart:

GORGEOUS!!! Peanut butter cheesecake right there!

More army jackets? :girl_haha: are you getting that Opus book?

I don't think I am (to answer HB's question as well). I mean... I am not crazy about that kind of things... I would rather put the money together so that I could fly ...
*you all know where*

NYC??? :D

I know that Michael knew about Opus and was excited about it, but does anyone know how much of his original creative thought went into a process of making it?

This is the problem with things that are being brought out now! We will never know thats why i am not willing to spend that sort of money!

Hi Serenity :) :)

Hello to all that's on.

Thanks for your take on it honey... Do you know where you saw that Opus-like book? I wanna check it out...

Thanks, Serenity :huggy: was hoping to get an outlook of someone that likes those kinds of items. I am horribly impatient with collecting stuff... I have it for some time and then I just snap and I go like "no, this goes to the bin, this too, this too..." plus, I moved quite a lot, I think since 2000 I've lived in like 12 different places/appartments, so I would not be able to drag all that stuff with me!
But I admire people that have those huge collections and I was thinking that this book is meant like this. I... guess I just need to have a look at this to ever decide if I want it or not :)

I just hate that we don't get a chance to see it before we pay. :(

night limon!!!!

im the same i have shelfs full of fiction books and give them away or get rid of them Hellls no! but i only buy certain ones! i collect castles, dragons and merlins so i have tons of small collectables all over the place! when you menioned if its under 3 inches i Lol'd Serenity.. you would die if you saw my collection i have..
