Chicago is on Sony Music Unlimited, 30 second Snippet preview has been released.

I listened to the snippet and it probably is too early to judge, but i don't like the intrumental ONE bit. When i heard it and those weird sounds...all i could say is...wtf is this?

Listened to the full version on Tumblr... not sure what to make of this. It definitely reeks of the modern R&B/hip-hop music that you hear today, although I guess such a song was to be expected since they have to market this to all the "hip" modern music listeners too. I hate to sound like a stubborn old fool but I don't know if I like this one. =/ Although I am eager to hear the demo version now so I can compare and contrast.

Quick question - so are Sony debuting 30 second clips of songs and Chicago was just leaked in full, or did Sony release the full track?

Sony released the full track on Sony Music Unlimited. That's where I've been listening to the song on repeat!

Ah right, I don't know what I'm doing wrong then I just get the 30 second snippet there when I click play I had to use an uploaded version to listen to it in full.

EDIT: Just signed up to the site, but looks like you need to enter payment details even if you're going for the free trial period. That's not happening, $ony! I'm already buying enough copies of this record without having to give my card details to a service I won't use after next week!

I had to make an account and do the 30 day free trial to hear the full version.

Make sure after the 10th you cancel your account with Sony Unlimited, so you wont be charged. you have 30 days from when you created it.

Holding her to blame, holding her to blame.... :music:

I have to say, I'm really diggin' that song! I signed up for the Sony Music Unlimited site. Now I'm hooked. :)

^ I didn't notice any ducks, but do you mean something like Dick Van Dyke's Bert singing along with the animals in "It's a Jolly 'Oliday with Mary!" lol.

I love Mike's vocals but why are ducks singing along with him?

I thought it was Timbo, never realized he was a duck... LOL

I think it's possible the track has been pitched up a bit and MJ's original vocals were a semitone lower. MJ did this in quite a few songs like Tabloid Junkie, etc. so it isn't anything new. The song sounds a lot darker at a lower pitch.

Okay, after a few listens to this track, I can now actually say, I like this.

So far, I am greatly surprised at the quality of this album thus far.

Xscape can't come quick enough! :)

I didn't initially "love it" but I can't get the damn opening line melody out of my head xD Its a good track, would have been killer with some MJ backing vocals too :(

Monkey Business has monkey sounds throughout, and no one says anything. Yet Chicago has what sounds like ducks and people are throwing a fit?

First I found the song a little bit odd, also the production, but it grew on me and I think it's an awesome song. I even like the ducks. :D

Hear Michael Jackson Freak Out Over a Lying Lover in 'Chicago'
The Timbaland-produced track will appear on posthumous album, 'Xscape'Comment25By Kory Grow

Michael Jackson performs circa 1986.Kevin Mazur/WireImageThe funky, Timbaland-produced love song "Chicago," a "contemporized" track off Michael Jackson's upcoming posthumous album, Xscape, has come out. With a deep-bass groove and some Auto-tuned vocals, Jackson sings about picking up a woman on a trip to Chicago, before bursting into a frenzied chorus. The hook finds Jackson singing in both a smooth voice and anguished wail, as he sings about a woman who said she didn't have a man, but had a family, all punctuated with a classic Jackson, urgent-sounding, "lie to you, lie to me" hook. The track was originally titled "She Was Lovin' Me" when Jackson recorded it in 1999, and it was meant to appear on his 2001 album, Invincible, but didn't make the cut.

L.A. Reid Explains Why Michael Jackson Is One of Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Artists
To put together Xscape, the album's executive producer, Antonio "L.A." Reid, retrieved eight previously unheard Jackson tracks from the singer's recording vaults and gave them to producers to add a contemporary spin to them. While Timbaland is the album's lead producer, other producers who worked on Xscape include Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, Jerome "Jroc" Harmon and John McClain. The regular edition of the record contains these "contemporized" versions of the songs, while a deluxe version will also contain the songs in their original form.

"Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with," Reid said in a statement. "We are extremely proud and honored to present this music to the world."

The disco-leaning Xscape track "Love Never Felt So Good," which also features Justin Timberlake, came out in April; Jackson had co-written the song in 1983 with singer-songwriter Paul Anka. Xscape is due out May 13th.

Damn I love this song! I like the way MJ sings "she tried to live a DÖÖble life", I can clearly see the angry expression on his face when he sings that word. :p

So, judging by the comments, it seems this song is a masterpiece and a fav so far then. ?
:)

It definitely is :D I did listen to it like a 1000 times already. I'm also dreaming of it.
