Glee Covers MJ Again - Update: Show to air Jan 31, 2012

I like the smooth criminal one. The others are ok. Anyway, Glee is always a good platform to new audience.

Why Was ‘Glee’s’ Michael Jackson Tribute Episode ‘Traumatic’ For Chris Colfer?

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. -- CaptionThe kids of William McKinley High will pay tribute to the late King of Pop on this week’s “Glee,” but for Chris Colfer (who plays Kurt Hummel on the hit show), performing MJ’s “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” was a bit rough.

“I was in a leather one-suit – like, a leather jumpsuit,” Chris told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson at the 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday. “The dance was fine, but just the fact that I was in a leather onesie was a little traumatic!”

Chris said the embarrassing get-up was reminiscent of a Bond bad guy, combined with a certain feline femme fatale.

“Very Catwoman-ish, [but] I would say more James Bond villain than Catwoman,” he told Shaun. “I wish it was Catwoman flattering! But no, it was James Bond villain.”

While the entire “Glee” cast enjoyed performing MJ’s iconic songs, Chris said Kevin McHale (Artie Abrams) was, by far, the most thrilled.

“Kevin McHale, without question,” Chris said, when asked which castmember was most excited about the episode. “He’s been idolizing him since he was a wee, wee lad.”

There's just something about Chris Colfer's answers that makes me feel that he was not excited about filming this episode at all

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. -- “Glee” and Michael Jackson fans are eagerly awaiting tonight’s episode which will celebrate the music of the late pop star and Harry Shum Jr. says Kevin McHale, in particular, is going to wow the audience.

“You’ll see [Kevin] dancing,” Harry told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Tuesday’s Access Hollywood Live, referring to Kevin’s Artie character, who is in a wheelchair.

“Kevin is what is going to blow people away,” the 29-year-old explained. “He’s dancing!”

Harry told Billy and Kit that he and Kevin – both huge fans of Jackson – were instrumental in helping to shape tonight’s episode.

“Ryan [Murphy] was like, ‘Anyone who has any ideas for the Michael [episode], come tell us,” he said. “We were like, ‘OK cool, we’ll make a list.’ And [Ryan] was like, ‘Actually, you’re going to come pitch it to the writers. We had like two minutes to put it together and [we had] this whole PDF file… we made CDs for all the writers.”

And though Harry – who will be performing “Scream” with Kevin tonight – is known for his fancy footwork, the skilled dancer admitted that he was scared to take on Jackson’s moves.

“All of us [were nervous]! Even me!” he told Billy and Kit. “It’s scary. He has legions of fans. We wanted to do it justice and I think we were able to give our spice to it, the ‘Glee’ version of it.”

“Glee’s” “Michael” episode airs tonight on FOX at 8 PM ET/PT.

I am liking it so far. Never watched glee ever so I don't know these characters lol.

So since they are fighting for who gets to perform MJ at regionals does that mean we get another MJ song later in the season?

I think it wasnt just chris who felt that way, i mean i assume they all were nervous bout doing this particular episode. As whenever a show does something like a tribute to mj music its hard to i guess outdo what mj did cuz no one will ever be to live up to mj 's staus.

I don't watch GLEE either. But I'm checking it out now just because of the MJ tribute.
I came in on the tail end of NCSG and it was OK. Good even. Human nature was cool too.
Wish I would have caught SCREAM and SMOOTH CRIMINAL but that's OK.

Ben.

LOVE IT. LOVE IT. LOVE IT.

Only sticky point was Scream...

Great great job!!

ok now i realize why i dont watch Glee... Some of them are hard to watch. like Scream and Smooth Criminal. kinda not liking Black or white but ya know i always say "It's the thought that counts." But i think they could have done better and left out the adlibs..
