Janet to perform at American Idol tonight ?

Janet showed you what a superstar is all about. yeah she is way past her peak/prime and she ain't gonna get the same bank loan on projects as horseweave kentucky derby beyonce, or lady gag gag,etc.. but janet rocks a stage and i wanna see these chicks coming with it 15 years from now?

the booty made me want to go to zales and take out a loan good lawd!!!!!!!

i loved her hair and iu felt michael'sspirit on her. she brought it.

randy dawg jackson was fogging up. janet was on it.
 
I thought it was a pretty good performance. I know I'm not the only one who noticed how her voice was nearly identical to Michael's at a few points.

And yeah, she looked hot too. Janet's hotness has always troubled me. On one hand, I find her smokin', but on the other hand she looks so much like MJ (and now that someone has mentioned it, I can see that she looks A LOT like Jermaine currently), so when I find her attractive it's like ahhhh lol.
 
Janets "Rock Witchu tour" did not bomb back in 2008. I remember how everyone thought she cancelled some dates due to poor ticketsales and noone believesd her when she said she had headache (vertigo) and that was the reason for canceling (im not saying she did indeed suffer from it or not, just that i dont believe poor tickets sales were the reason). I had friends attending her shows in Staples Center and they said the venue were full and I also had friends going in Atalnta (?) who said it was full.

Billboard Magazine was reporting back then that ticket sales for Janet Jackson's Rock Witchu Tour weren't actually that bad. "While not all of the ticket sales have been reported, boxscores ranked at least in the top 30, with half of the four reported shows in the top 20. In Washington, D.C. the Rock Witchu show ranked its best at #11. Seven other cities were not reported." So the Tour didn't really bomb.
 
I find it mind boggling how people see or hear Michael while watching Janet, all I see is Jermaine straight up, Jermaine I see Jermaine and Randy in her as for sounding like Mike, I don't think so Michael's voice was angelic whereas Janet's not
 
I thought she was great and I was delighted to see her on American Idol. Its been shown in ireland this afternoon so I will watch it again :). Again gets me everytime its such an emotional song.

I don't really think a neutral outsider would disagree on Janet sounding similar to Michael at times on the grounds that Michael's voice is angelic and Janet's isn't... In general, I don't think I've ever really heard someone who is neutral to something say that somebody's voice is angelic. Nobody said that they sounded EXACTLY alike or that Janet has that intangible quality that made MJ MJ. But come on... she sounded NOTHING like him and her facial features DON'T bear a resemblance to her brother? I know Mike was/is special but that special that no one has any similarities to him whatsoever? :lol:

Honestly I don't think anyone would compare their two voices like u and others do just because they got high voices or just b/c the voices come off as whispery at times. So maybe I'm not a neutral outsider but u sure arent either. As for the angelic part let me rephrase it then Michael's voice is way better than his sister's any outsider would agree with this statement. They might sound the same to you but to me they sound different live with it.

Must've been some mirage that my friend who I was watching it with joked to me "is she lypsyncing Michael?" before I even said anything about it!

The common facial resemblance is there but he shares them with almost all of his siblings excluding Jermaine,- Marlon and Tito. Janet looks more like Jermaine to me its possible for siblings to resemble another particular one more than the other. Pre surgery Michael looked a lot like Randy did 30 years ago but didn't look much like Tito for example get over it, it ain't that serious.

Janet is not slim at all. I don't think she lost weight, maybe the contrary but she's still beautiful.
 
I thought at times she sounded like Michael, and they shared that wonderful smile. She was great on the show, the best guest for me, and not just because she is Michael's sister, am glad she got star billing.

They could do a lot worse than having a Jackson as a mentor on X Factor when it comes to US next year, if anyone knows how to develop the talent people have it is the Jacksons. I hope Cowell is considering them.
 
Just saw this on TV. Her voice sounded very sweet during 'Nothing', it was nice. I think at times she sounded similar to Michael.. the way they say some words is the same/similar tho they are siblings so it's expected. To be honest, I didn't like 'Nasty'.

:lol: you make me laugh if you can't tell that was live and not pre-recorded !! The rock witch u tour did have a lot of pre-recorded vocals that obvious, but that was LIVE !! and just because an artist may use pre-recorded vocals on tour doesn't mean they lipsync all the time, take MJ's HIStory tour for example, that was mostly lipsynced, yet that doesn't mean he does it all the time as we know he doesn't
 
Just watched it. I thought it was a wonderful performance. She killed it basically. Lovedd her dress at the beginning of the performance. Big props to Janet :bow:, she's always been an amazing performer.
