Absolutely disgusting

Re: Doc charged in Jackson death to keep Calif license

Is it possible that someone from TMZ was in the courtroom? There was a lottery for people to be there.

I thought the lottery was for the general public. Media would be there.

Yes it was. But I meant that someone from TMZ could be undercover, pretending to be a fan or any one person and thus has seeped into the public. And so, participated in the lottery and get into. Maybe....

Re: Doc charged in Jackson death to keep Calif license

Pathetic...don't even know what to say. *sigh*

Re: Doc charged in Jackson death to keep Calif license

The California Medical Board can still suspend or revoke Murray's license to practice
here. It is a process that takes time but the Attorney General wants that to happen
and so does the Board. More patience required.

so if the medical board can do it, what is taking them so long? There is a doctor that killed Michael Jackson using anesthesia as a sleep aid, and he's continuing to practice medicine as if he's done nothing wrong. That is just wrong on so many levels

Re: Doc charged in Jackson death to keep Calif license

TMZ has an update, they claim Joe appeared to fall asleep during the hearing. I really hope that is not true. The hearing did not last that long.

well, he's 80 years old. it could happen.

Medical Board Hears High Profile Cases

http://www.8newsnow.com/story/13614061/medical-board-hears-high-profile-cases

LAS VEGAS -- The Nevada State Medical Board handed out punishments for three doctors involved in Nevada's most notorious health scandals. From the hepatitis C scare to the Medical Mafia crimes, the medical board handled some high profile cases Friday.

The board handed down additional sanctions against Michael Jackson's former doctor, Conrad Murray. Though he's facing involuntary manslaughter charges for his role in the singer's death, Doctor Murray keeps his Nevada medical license for now.

However, the board announced a settlement Friday. Dr. Murray admits to wrongdoing and will have a reprimand on his state record. He will also have to pay the cost of the state investigation against him.

Doctor Mark Kabins, who plead guilty in 2009's Medical Mafia case, had his license suspension stayed. But some of the medical board speaking in Reno thought the punishment should be more severe.

"This was such an egregious case when it occurred, and it tainted the medical community to such an extent in southern Nevada, that there are many people clamoring for more harsh, punitive measures," said a medical board member.

Dr. Kabins served six months house arrest for conspiracy in the medical malpractice suit of former Olympic athlete Melodie Simon. Kabins was ordered to complete 240 hours community service and pay a total of nearly $13,000 in fines and penalties.

Doctor Eladio Carrera, who spoke to the grand jury about his involvement in the Dipak Desai Hep C endoscopy case, failed in his attempt to get off medical probation. The board told him his medical practice will remain restricted for another seven months.

yeah I know.. i found that confusing because it's not saying what the wrongdoing was unless it has to do with the whole child support issue again.

with the whole child support issue again.
probably. forgot about that.seems like its to do with the child suport issue from other articles although its contact music so?

Re: Medical Board Hears High Profile Cases

n a separate case, Murray retained his license to practice medicine in Nevada after reaching an agreement Friday with the state medical board in which he admitted making inaccurate and incomplete statements to the board about being current on child support.

Murray received a reprimand and agreed to pay at least $3,700 in investigation costs, Deputy Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners chief Edward Cousineau said Wednesday.

yes... it was about child support what we had said... He's been making a lot of inaccurate statements. Maybe this will ruin his credibility. I bet his lawyers would not want the child support case to come into the trial. It will show his desperation and why he chose to put MJ's life in danger for money.

Authorities Gunning for Conrad Murray's License

Sources tell TMZ .... the Medical Board of California will immediately ask the judge in Dr. Conrad Murray's preliminary hearing to yank his medical license if Murray is ordered to stand trial.

Judge Michael Pastor should rule within a week whether there's enough evidence to warrant a manslaughter trial in the death of Michael Jackson. If the judge orders a trial -- which he's expected to do -- the lawyer for the Medical Board -- who has been sitting in the courtroom -- will ask Judge Pastor to suspend Murray's license on the spot.

This will be the third attempt by the Board to suspend Murray's license. The first two attempts failed. Murray is already prohibited from administering "deep anesthetics," including Propofol.

Sources connected with Murray say he is furious that the Board is trying to suspend his ability to practice medicine, which would then make it impossible for him to pay for lawyers to defend him.

If California suspends Murray's license, it's likely the medical boards in Texas and Nevada would follow suit.

Murray doesn't deserve a medical license. He's highly dangerous. A doctor who gives someone anesthesia as a sleep aid shouldn't be practicing. And he's acting like he did absolutely nothing wrong. That is dangerous

Michael Jackson's doctor could also lose medical license in other states

A day after a Los Angeles County judge yanked Dr. Conrad Murray’s medical license for his alleged role in Michael Jackson’s death, officials in two other states said they were evaluating whether to do the same.

A spokeswoman for the medical board in Texas, where Murray runs a cardiac clinic, said the ruling by Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor “gives us the authority to do a similar action.”

“We certainly have the option of suspending him,” said Leigh Hopper, the board’s public information officer. She said the agency was awaiting an official confirmation of the judge’s ruling before deciding whether to proceed against the physician.

In Nevada, where Murray had a cardiology practice until going to work for Jackson, a medical board official said the agency normally “takes reciprocal action” when the medical board of another state strips a physician of his license.

But Murray’s case is unique because he lost his license as a condition of bail set by a judge, rather than as the result of an investigation by the state medical board, said Edward Cousineau, deputy executive director of the Nevada Medical Board.

“We need to review our statutes and regulations to know if there are any grounds for suspension or disciplinary action,” he said.

Pastor revoked the license at the request of the state medical board at the conclusion of a six-day hearing in which prosecutors presented evidence for their argument that Murray's substandard care had led to Jackson’s death.

The judge said allowing the doctor to keep his license “would constitute an imminent danger to public safety” given testimony about Murray’s conduct, which included administering the dangerous anesthetic propofol without proper monitoring.
Murray’s licenses in all three states were already restricted by agreements he made last year not to use propofol or other heavy sedatives in his practice.

Lawyers for Murray are considering whether to appeal Pastor’s decision, said Charles Peckham, the doctor’s civil attorney.

“It’s difficult to understand the reasoning the court had to adding this additional bond restriction,” Peckham said.

Since “this one horrific event” –- Jackson’s June 25, 2009, death -– “Dr. Murray has been saving lives in Nevada and Texas,” he said.

He said that Murray is primarily concerned about his patients, but that the potential loss of income is also troubling given the expenses of mounting a defense.

“The state of California is taking every action to try to make certain Dr. Murray has no resources to try to defend himself and of course, that is of grave concern,” Peckham said.

Murray has pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter. His arraignment is set for Jan. 25.

so in other words it's ok to take a person's life when you save other lives? WTF?! He should have taken that braindead Peckham's life, wonder if his family would agree with this nonsense argumentation

This is just insane.. There should be no questions asked. Murray practiced terrible judgement in MJ's case because of the almighty dollar. Murray may be tempted to do other horrific things if the price is right and for that he's a danger to everyone under his care.

So confused....

Notice the technicality: Murray lost his license as part of the bond. I hope they are not trying to look for an excuse to let their DR keep his license? Also murray can get a public attorney if he cannot afford one, so I am not feeling sorry for him. Let him get another job in the medical field, as long as he does not give medicine and keeps his phones in the locker.

I was hoping that I would wake up today to the news that Murray's other licenses have been suspended as well.

Major disappointment!

There's a video with several elderly patients supporting him on the site. They seem to forget,Murray was willing to turn his back on them for a year....for 150K$/month.

Now they are complaining they don't have any other doctors if Murray loses his license...laughable. The defines PR..again. Having these black poor elderly people supporting a doctor who can't perform CPR.

Acres Homes patients: Jackson’s doctor provides vital service to community

HOUSTON -- The doctor accused of manslaughter in Michael Jackson’s death is in jeopardy of losing his Texas medical license, and some residents of Acres Homes warn the impact on the predominantly low-income and elderly community would be severe.

“If the doctor loses his licenses, hundreds of his patients would have nowhere to turn,” said Ruby Mosley.
Mosley credits Dr. Conrad Murray for helping to save her life. Murray treated the 82-year-old for blocked arteries three years ago.

“It was God and Dr. Murray that kept me alive,” she said.
Murray is accused of administering lethal dosages of Propofol to Michael Jackson. This week, his doctor’s license in California was suspended. Medical boards in Nevada and Texas are considering taking the same action.
Only a small number of licensed physicians service the Acres Homes community. Murray’s attorneys vowed to fight any effort to remove his license.

“We’re not fighting this for Doctor Murray,” said Charles Peckham, a civil attorney working on Murray’s behalf. “We’re fighting this for his patients.”
Murray was in Houston last month treating some of his patients. Ordory Johnson, 74, was one of them.

“They should let him alone because we need him,” said Johnson.

And there is NOONE else that could possibly treat them but Murray? There are no other cardiologists anywhere near where they live? Then I can't help but to wonder if all those patients would've travelled with him to London as well.

Errrrrm, yeah.. Sure.. They're just fighting for the patients.. How very noble of them.......

guys let's not get ahead of ourselves.

the other states just got the "official" court document yesterday, it will take them some time to come to a decision. They need to follow procedure they can't just snap their fingers and take his licence.

Exactly! what were these poor patients going to do when Murray upped and left to go to London England for $150,000 per month? would they have found someone else then or were they willing to wait for a year to get treated? This is a crock of crap. Murray didn't give a damn about his patients when he got the 'opportunity of a lifetime' to go on a 'sabbatical' with Michael Jackson, so why are they so concerned now? and besides a cardiologist who does not know how to do CPR should not be treating anyone anyway.

Yes.... You're right. BUT....

Well, if we wait one year, because we can not wait any longer? :bugeyed I have a big problem to understand... why things move so slowly. :mello: Michael did not die yesterday or last week. He died 1 year and 6 months. What more need be said to be clear what happened? I really do not know what they are hoping to take the medical licence of Murray. :sigh:

Ok -_-, I'm patient and I'll wait. :timer: :coffee: *big sigh*
