Fuz, is there any particular reason you were thinking something might happen in late June? Obviously, there's the two significant dates in June but was there something else you had in mind?

Assuming an October release is still set, I'd just concluded the (media) buzz around Michael's passing date would be perfect time to drop a teaser. Followed by an actual trailer in late August.

1 year ago I had the absolute honor of going on set of the Michael Jackson biopic. This was definitely another “what is my life” moment. Also, one of the most incredible days of my life. When the world sees Jaafar as his uncle, they won’t believe their eyes or ears. Stay patient everyone. It will be worth the wait.

These days everyone does surprise drops. We've seen trailers drop 2 months before the premiere. So I'd be worried by July or August at the latest.

It's a Biopic of the most famous person to walk the earth in the last 500 years, what did they expect? Pressure will be enormous, this Movie is expected to make at least 1 billion at the box office with its International Reach. Or rather - with Michael Jackson's international reach.

Indeed! I've pressed pause on my CD player, bookmarked the various books I'm in the middle of, sidelined plans to learn how to make an origami lotus flower and my urge to learn more about bees has more or less fizzled out.

I have a nice cup of tea. I can wait ...

That's true and I hope you're right. A late summer promotion blitz is entirely possible.

The reason I referenced June, was because arguably Lionsgate's biggest film this year Ballerina (John Wick spin off starring Ana De Armas) is out June 6th and it would be sensible to assume they'd want to attach a teaser/trailer for the Michael biopic to it

It's worth noting that on the Lionsgate website, there's no mention of the biopic as of yet and for context there's posters, synopsis and trailers for films releasing in November and even February next year. Hopefully that changes soon
