"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

Apparently we should find out tomorrow whether the movie is still on schedule for release this year..

There is already so much DRAMA around the biopic that the pressure on the film being absolutely stellar is unbelievable... I somehow feel sorry for Jaafar lol
It's a Biopic of the most famous person to walk the earth in the last 500 years, what did they expect? Pressure will be enormous, this Movie is expected to make at least 1 billion at the box office with its International Reach. Or rather - with Michael Jackson's international reach.

So it seems the whole world needs to come to a halt because they don't manage to finish this biopic smh :ROFLMAO:
Indeed! I've pressed pause on my CD player, bookmarked the various books I'm in the middle of, sidelined plans to learn how to make an origami lotus flower and my urge to learn more about bees has more or less fizzled out.

I have a nice cup of tea. I can wait ... :ROFLMAO:

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Oh my goodness zin!! Your comment made my day!! 😂

I think we should have a new thread: "What I need to stop doing for the MICHAEL biopic to be finished" or something along those lines.

I guess Lionsgate / the film production team need ALL the energy we can renounce, so let us donate!!!

We need a campaign also: DRINK TEA FOR MICHAEL 😂
We need a poll: "Tea with or w/o milk?"

These days everyone does surprise drops. We've seen trailers drop 2 months before the premiere. So I'd be worried by July or August at the latest.
That's true and I hope you're right. A late summer promotion blitz is entirely possible.

The reason I referenced June, was because arguably Lionsgate's biggest film this year Ballerina (John Wick spin off starring Ana De Armas) is out June 6th and it would be sensible to assume they'd want to attach a teaser/trailer for the Michael biopic to it

It's worth noting that on the Lionsgate website, there's no mention of the biopic as of yet and for context there's posters, synopsis and trailers for films releasing in November and even February next year. Hopefully that changes soon

You sound so happy and patient and positive about this

That is illegal. Not allowed.

Hilarious! Also, you still have a CD Player? That's soooooo ancient! Lol. Btw, I'm teasing...😂😘

As expected, it's likely being delayed to 2026 and they have 3 and a half hours of footage. https://variety.com/2025/film/news/michael-jackson-biopic-pushed-2026-1236407335/
“In regard to our Michael Jackson biopic, we’re excited about the 3½ hours of amazing footage from producer Graham King and director Antoine Fuqua, and we will be announcing a definitive release strategy & timing in the next few weeks,” he said. “I would note that it is likely we will move ‘Michael’ out of the fiscal year which will impact fiscal ’26 financial results but will bolster an already strong fiscal ’27 slate.”

Fiscal 2027 means end of April 2026. So this means Summer Blockbuster

2026 is probably the worst year it could have been released if it’s seriously looking to make mega bucks.

There are a lot of massive movies coming out next year including a new Avengers film and other blockbusters.

Fans being negative and pessimistic certainly won't give lions gate confidence to release the film.....And thats probably exactly what the media wants and why they keep releasing negative articles,
