Absolutely. Like Sammy Davis Jr. said, Michael smacks of that era of showbusiness. He incorporates more classic hollywood era musical dance forms in to his style then he does modern street movement and dancing really. I love the variety shows for the very reason you mentioned. It shows Michael's ability to adapt and execute to perfection any type of movement, whether that be jazz, tap or ballroom dancing to popping and pantomime. I've seen many dancers who are really good at one form of dance, but give them something they aren't used to or haven't ever done before, and they fall flat on their face, they aren't that talented and they really have to work at it to be even half way decent. Michael is able to dance in any form or style and do it just as well as either or because his initial movement, just the natural way that he moves, it truly superior. There are very few dancers with his natural ability. And also, as you say, feeling is highly important. I think in order to be a great dancer, you have to have both components. You have to be technically good and you have to be emotive. One without the other doesn't make you great. I've seen technically perfect dancers who have no feeling or rhythm and thus they aren't great dancers, just technically sound, and I've seen emotive dancers who lack good technique, and thus they aren't great either, just highly energetic and charasmatic. Michael has both aspects though in massive quantities. He's technically brilliant, with perfect, clean lines, perfect extention, incredible speed, amazing fluidity and control, no excess movement, so much ease, or grace, in his step, highly rhythmic and he emotes unlike any other I've ever seen. I always say about Michael's dancing, if there was no music, or if you couldn't hear any music, but you were watching Michael dance, you would be able to visualize in your mind what the music should or does sound like, what type of atmosphere and emotion it expresses, just from watching him move.
