I'm reading the court document now

- sony is going to allow Murray and his lawyers to watch the footage only from June 15 to June 24 at a location chosen by Sony
- then Murray's lawyers will make a list of what they want
- sony says they reserve the right to object to any of these requests
- sony wants murray to pay for any expenses for this viewing (personnel costs etc) , murray doesn't agree. they are asking the judge to make a decision about this
- it also says that Murray and his lawyers cannot make any public statement about what they watched whatsoever

Will someone from the prosecution be present as well, or be offered an opportunity to view the same footage?

why do you say that?

it turns out at the last hearing the judge told me if they can find a middle ground without involving him that would be great. sony says on papers that's why they started negotiating. and it's a valuable footage that they have future plans for, they wouldn't just had copies.

I think thats the least of our concerns at this time.u will see it one day.

If the ruling only covered the last two days why are sony letting them have 15th onwards.cause the next issue is arguing that they wanna enter pre 23rd footage as evidence.when they should have never seen it to start with

I agree. I personally find that odd also. The prosecution is only allowed to see/show the footage from June 23rd and 24th, 2009. Why are the defense allowed to see footage from further back before that? I hope the prosecution gets to see that footage also then. It will be the only way to make the footage issue fair, in my opinion.

Yeah there was a hearing today but that was if both sides couldnt come to an agrerment b4 then. U know i wish the pros hadnt adked to use footage.its opened up a hornets nest

is there a court doc that mentions the 15th onward date cause theres nothing in the link smooth posted.is that date a media creation or was it just said at the lasthearing by the defence and then the judge ruled they could only have the last two days. But the media dont know or ignored the judges ruling in their reports

I thought judge was restricting defense to those last days and that the talk between Sony and defence would be about the cameras (whether all or the two personal ones defense mentioned in last hearing...).

Anyway, hope the judge keeps the same ruling as for prosecutors.

I think it's all very preliminary. Because after watching the tapes they will have ask the judge again to allow showing the chosen footage in court. and the judge might still decline. Also, as I understand, Sony could also decline?

What I find interesting though is that the defence will not able to discuss it in public. So, do you think we will see tabloid articles with info from the "sources" afterwards?

Thanks for the link smooth.so the defence say they are narrowing the sub to footage from the 15th.seems to me the defence are trying to pull a fast one.asking to see footage from the 15th onwards when the judge said they could only use footage from the last two days.they are fishing looking for anything and if theres something of use they are gonna try and get it in.

The pros should jump on this and argue that only footage from the last two days should be handed over.

Give it 2 mins for tmz to be quoting scenes

yes it's very preliminary. basically Sony is saying : okay at a place that I chose (to protect the tapes and contents) I'll let you watch the footage. Then you are going to give me a list saying what you want. I can accept or file rejection for these requests and we'll let the judge decide what you can get.

so as of now we know nothing about what will be - if any - will be shown during trial.

What I find interesting though is that the defence will not able to discuss it in public. So, do you think we will see tabloid articles with info from the "sources" afterwards?

it wouldn't surprise me if we did. especially if there are indeed footage of a weak / sick Michael it would "magically" began making the rounds I guess.

The thing is that since the only source for the leaks could have been Murray and co, they would need to be VERY careful.

I mean, the footage had not been making the rounds before. Murray ask to see them. Suddenly they are on TMZ. Hmm.

Sony would have their ass!

WHAT Murrary wants, who does he think he is? I hope as hell he gets NOTHING he asks for just on general purposes that he murdered ou idol Michael. We want Michael back Murrary, have YOU thought about that? His chilsren need him. Has that crossed your mindd you self rightous prick! I'm upaet today because it's been 2 yrs and your tired lookin butt is walking around free as a bird and you need to PAY. Hell Michael asked you you to take him to the hospital the night before and YOU denyed his right. Instead, you murdered him. - Judge asks although he said "last 2 days" why they are looking into "3 weeks". Murray's lawyer says that there might not be anything in the last 2 days.
- Judge asks why this dates are important. From their response it seems like they are looking to the footage from the day Michael wasn't feeling well and sent home. (They mention June 20th meeting at home and June 16th producers complaining Michael not attending rehearsals.)
- Prosecution says they are surprised and thought that it was only limited to last 2 days. They ask to have same access to the footage as the defense. Judge is okay with this.

exactly, how can even someone think that the last two days are important... I'm sure those older footages with Mike being sick, are most likely important to them, SMGD @ Murray, I really hope and pray for justice to be done, and no I'm not referring to judical justice. Justice would be if Murray was left to die the same way, under the same circumstances as Michael was. THAT would be closer to some form of ''justice''.

My opinion is give him the tapes. I cannot see what it can help him. If he's denied the tapes, then he can twist the facts, saying Michael was sick, blah, blah, blah, and for this reason the tapes were denied by Sony.

I just don't get that if Michael was so sick (out of the ordinary sick because anyone could get sick at anytime including while trying to rehearse for an upcoming concert) why wouldn't his mother have noticed when she visited shortly before his death? Would the children not have expressed concern to her?

Also, one would have to think that Michael was willing to jeopardize the start of the concerts by not seeking medical attention if he was truly sick and didn't feel that it was being addressed.

This is all so heart-breaking that he is not here.

Girl I know.. All of those damn people around and no one cared at all.. If MJ was hot and cold and his body was shutting down and everyone knew about Murray why the hell didn't someone take MJ to the hospital? Like you said didn't his mother notice him getting thin and frail? I am just so heartbroken. Mike needed a wife or someone to take care of him

Cuz i just dont trust sony at all and having them in the same room watching those videos just makes my skin crawl. It just how i feel bout that situation.
 
Jackson doctor's LA court hearing postponed

(AP) LOS ANGELES (AP) — A hearing in the criminal case of Michael Jackson's doctor has been postponed because lawyers are bogged down viewing hundreds of hours of rehearsal footage from the singer's "This Is It" concert.

In a conference with attorneys on Wednesday, Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor accepted the requests to delay a July 12 hearing to July 20. He said he wants to know then when the involuntary manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray can go forward. It is now set for Sept. 8.

Prosecutors want to show jurors clips from the posthumous feature film "This Is It" to prove Jackson was healthy in the days before his death. The defense wants to show he was ill.

Murray, a Houston cardiologist with an office in Las Vegas, is accused of giving the superstar an overdose of the anesthetic propofol and other sedatives when he could not sleep. Jackson died on June 15, 2009, in his rented Beverly Hills mansion where Murray had been attending him.

Murray has pleaded not guilty. The transcript of the conference with the judge and attorneys was released on Thursday.

Attorneys indicated it will take weeks for them to view all of the relevant video recordings of Jackson. They said they have been working every day since June 28 and have gotten through only one of 21 boxes of materials.

"So far, we have found a lot of important stuff," said defense attorney Nareg Gourjian.

Attorneys have been barred from discussing publicly any evidence they find in the videos.

Prosecutor Deborah Brazil said she has been working along with Gourjian, defense attorney Ed Chernoff, Sony lawyer Kevin Vick and a technician going through material on computer hard drives.

Gourjian, who originally estimated there were 100 hours of footage from rehearsals, said he now believes there is much more.

"There are about eight to ten different cameras that were recording the rehearsals and each one has different views and different footage," he said. "So it is critical that we review the footage from each camera."

I usually try not to second guess judges in situations like this but I think this was a mistake allowing such because it is just turning in to a fishing expedition. This is all about whether or not Murray administered a lethal dosage of medication to Michael and was he negligent in his handling of the medical care with the propofol.

It shouldn't matter what Michael was doing on those tapes because that is just allowing for wading in the waters. Nothing on those tapes are going to indicate he was going to die on June 25. Now, they can prolong this forever. If you give a mouse a cookie . . .

they are just looking through them. The judge hasn't ruled if they will be part of the evidence during the trial yet. He could say that they are irrelevant because it has nothing to do with Murray administering propofol in a home setting recklessly.
