Hi, I have this qestion. Would you like Michael to sing US national anthem and release it on CD? Michael didn't officially singed this song for nearly 40 years. Would you like it as a part of single "What more can i give" as a help for victim of 9.11.2001?

tracklist:
1, What more can I give
2, US national anthem

In 3 years there is a decennial of it. He woul also release it 9.11.2009. becouse he has no NO1 singles in 00's and it is a pity, only one single can change it. Michael would be the only artist who hes NO1 singles for 4 decades in a row. Apart from Michael is not popular in the USA, maybe this project would help, what do you think?

not to be rude but what are we judgeing mj not being popular in the us on his how great and sucessful thriller 25 did or the fact he gets cheered for everywhere he goes here.

His last NO1 single in US was You are not alone in 1995, that's fact, noone judgeing Michael! That is Sony's job and their sabiotage of Invincible :)) Singles Earth song, TDCAU, Stranger in Moscow, Blood on the dance floor was succesfull in Europe, but flos in US, I don't know why...

yes but you are not alone is the highest debut ever on usa charts he hold s arecord . earthsong was not released here as a single but i see what you are saying and despite sony sabatage of invincible he still sold around 2 to 3 million here with is great considering sony . you rock my world and butterflies did goood here on r&b and pop charts despite no singles being released. i was just wondering what you judge that on so i see what you meant

I reallyt do not understand why fans say that MJ is not popular in the USA when all the evidence prooves that he is. It's like we see MJ getting standing ovation and then we say he got booed.

^^media based - they want people to believe the USA have a problem with Michael. Which is stupid but people feed into it even fans. This site is USA based that alone says something

Michael has never been a flop anywhere in world and never will be
and why would Michael release as song that is over 6 years old with The National Athem?
This is a new and exciting era thats building up for both Michael and the fans and we should be capturing that with both hands, instead of focusing on old material.
and about Michael not having a number one in the USA since 'You Are Not Alone' back in 1995!
ahh well!
wait till the new material drops then we'll see who has got all the number 1s :)

Michael was in 2005 choosen by US people as the most fool american. Michael's hits after YANA wasn't succesfull in USA at all, that's my idea anyway. I love Michael and I wish him to have NO1 singles again, but it's going to be deficult. In 2008 he won't release new album, that's clear. You are not alone was large hit, that's true, but this song was stoolen for Michael by R. Kelly, so we should say, that Michael's last NO1 single in USA is Black or white - 17 years old single.

Yeah, and American's suffer from the highest obesity rate in the world, cause they can't stop stuffing their faces and then they drop dead from things such as heart failure. So maybe they should just vote themselves as the most foolish people bar none, lol. I'm from the U.S, so I can talk smack, haha.

And Michael's last number one in the US was "YANA", and didn't "Scream" reach number one as well? Who cares anyway, he had a top 10 hit with "YRMW" and a number one album with "Invincible" with practically zero promotion.

I really don't understand it when people who don't live in America make assumptions about America based on what some article or poll says.

Invincible was a number 1 hit in the US, You Rock My World made it to number 10 on the charts and Butterflies made it to number 14 on the hot 100 and number 2 on the R n B charts and it wasn't even officially released. Thriller 25 was the second biggest selling album the week it was released and number 1 on the comprehensive chart.

With all of the tributes given to him on television these days and almost every single American artist paying some kind of tribute to him it's really surprising to me when someone says that Michael isn't popular in the US, especially after he makes an appearance at some fashion show in LA and people go absolutely crazy over him.

Anywho just my opinion

Well said

I havn't read this whole thread, but I want to add that I work at a bowling alley that has lazer tag, arcade games, pool tables and a juke box... and over the past week, I've heard people pay to play Michael Jackson 2 different times on the jukebox... Thriller, Billie Jean and Smooth Criminal were played. :) It made me happy to hear MJ at work.

hmm...well i can easily understand why people say he's not so popular in the US.... i don't know about anyone else...but i sure get a lot of crap for being a michael fan..... me meeting a real michael fan is few and far between ... America has become such a shallow, media based country that so many base their opinions on what they hear tell. however, many do stand and cheer like crazy because there is something that just draws people to him, no matter how they feel about him...his confidance...his fight to keep going, the mere fact that he's different. people, whether they like him or not, are very attracted to him...but truly he isnt' that popular in the US...michael knows this to be true..he's stated it....and seeing as he sees and hears about all the sales, comments, tabloids and such from place to place..i'll take his word for it. :D

If Michael isn't popular in the US, then neither is Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Chris Brown, whoever the heck else you want to mention, considering he sells as many and more records as them here.

no. you can't just base popularity off his sales....i know many people that love his music but don't like him..i'm not trying to be mean here...but you can't be so naive. besides, after his trial, his sales in america has dropped incredibly..he mentions it in an interview with geralod rivera. he's said it a couple times .. about the way america treats him... i know he's not pulling these ideas out of his butt. lol.....anywho... i'd be interested in hearing how he does the star spangled banner..he always has an interesting new way to try things :D

He's been persecuted in his own country, but that doesn't mean there aren't many people in the United States who aren't fans. He's popular as an artist here still, and there's no denying that. He's MORE popular in other countries, basically because the US's music taste is up it's ass lately. But he is still loved in the US and all over the world. The proof is in the pudding. He's wildly recieved wherever he goes here. Nobody is ever booing him.

Jeraldo _ never had a interview with MJ After the Trial
so how could he say such a thing - please show evidence
for what you are stating as fact - IT IS NOT FACT

Ive NEVER heard MJ say Americans treat him Bad
not even on the Geraldo interview so I dont know
if you are equating Tabloid media with Americans
becuase the UK and European Media is Just a bad
if not worse -

The media does not represent the people
in fact just the opposite _They have ther own
agenda

please show any article or video of MJ singling out
that Americans treat him bad in any way _THANKS

He didnt Loose FANS what he lost was biggoted racist predudice
people in this world and to them I say GOOD Ridance - You can see
the character of those who judge Michael - just by what they say
They are LOW LIFE .. The Haters in this world

Michael Jackson STOPPED Traffic on the Streets of NY City 2001
and he would do the very same thing today if he appeared ..

a hint for lada: if you want people to respond to the actual topic, put no more than zero inflammatory remarks in your OP.

not that fond of The Star-Spangled Banner (or any national anthem) but it would be cool to hear Mike's proper take on it alongside many great American musicians and artists.

The Jackson 5 sang the National Anthem at Riverfront stadium in Cincinnati before a Cincinnati Reds baseball game. I have a vid of it.

There will be at least one, maybe two #1's in US before this decade ends.

Please not what more can i give, nit that thing againg please!!

But It would be cool to see him singing his national anthem.

All yall who arent from America...U cant say Michael is not Loved here. Seriously. its some ppl who want him to end up in a bad place,*Greed*. and Almost OVER Half of America LOVES MICHAEL!!! Dont come here and say things that dont make sense. I live in the US and I Am really dissappointend when people say that America dont love him...Sorry but its really NOT Fair!!!

oh my gosh. i'm done with this thread. ummm... earthlyme!. . i DO live in America.... you guys aren't listening TO WHAT I'M SAYING!!!!....i'm saying MUSIC WISE!! yes he's popular.... but he's also been made into many jokes...MOST PEOPLE I KNOW MAKE FUN OF ME FOR LIKING HIM AND THE MAJORITY WHO DON'T STILL DON'T LIKE HIM!!!

okay...i'm a fan..i'm not trying to start trouble here.... you guys are just being so BLIND to every stinkin thing!! i'm an army brat..i've lived ALL OVER THE STINKIN US!! I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT DON'T TREAT ME LIKE I'M DUMB!!! most people i've talked to, most of my school in everyschool i've been to didn't like mike...even before i didnt' like mike, i'd meet someone who DID like him in school..and people picked on them all the time....yeah..nobody is going to boo him...HE'S A LEGEND AND EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT.....umm..haven't i already stated this?????..... so there goes THAT point you guys keep making.... yeah... something about him makes people love him... the problem is..more people here in the US ..WHERE I LIVE!!... make jokes about him than they praise him...

okay!! now before you guys start reporting me and assuming i'm some TROLL.. hear me out!

i'm not some jerk trying to hurt michael's feelings or change your opinions about him. I LOVE MICHAEL TO DEATH!! I GET SOOOO MAD WHEN PEOPLE I KNOW TALK BAD ABOUT HIM!!..don't believe me, come visit my little ol' town..anyone who knows me EVEN THE SLIGHTEST BIT will tell you i love michael to death and i'll DEFEND HIM TO MY DEATH!!!.... but that doesn't mean i have to be naive and blind!... michael isn't as popular here as he is in other places...which is probably the whole reason why he's going about his new songs the way he is... to get back into the populariy in america

gbee:::::
i can't find the video but here is a link to the interview with geraldo...

http://www.allmichaeljackson.com/interviews/geraldorivera.html

um...the date does say may of 2005!! ..okay..so it's before the final judgment..but the trial was already big news....

however, the statements i'm thinking of isn't in this one, though i CLEARLY remember him saying about his number one album or invincible album or SOME project "it hit #1 in every country. every country except America"....he's also talked about America when he's talked about NOT LIVING in America and i BELIEVE..don't quote me on this..but i THINK i remember him saying something about America and the way we treat him when he was discussing about why he doesn't tour in America.... so no... he's never flat out said "YOU AMERICANS TREAT ME LIKE CRAP"... but he's made it obvious in my mind that he isn't too happy with the treatment he gets from America..so call me a liar all you want..i know what i'm talking about. i'm not trying to do anything against michael here..i'm saying America is a very shallow, superficial and media fed country. THAT'S FACT I'M SORRY AND I BET MICHAEL HIMSELF WOULD AGREE!!!!!

i've said my piece! say whatever you guys want back!!...but i'm ending my part here!!!

PERSONALLY I'D LOVE TO HEAR MICHAEL'S VERSION OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM...though i can't say much for a large amount of Americans..i still love my country..and i think Michael would do a beautiful job singing it's anthem.

Well, I think the suggestion is interesting, if a bit, erm, unusual.

National anthems can be very powerful. I'll leave it up to MJ to decide this one. lol

Politics completely aside, and speaking only musically, my fav nat. anthems are the French, the Russian and the German. At least, out of the ones I've heard so far. lol And the Canadian one isn't too bad either. lol I'll assume MJ probably won't be singing any of those though. I just felt like stating my personal opinion on nat. anthems. lol

He's been made fun of all over the world. That's hardly exclusive to the United States. World soceity rejects what's different and Michael is different. Plan and simple.
