He said that because "We've Had Enough" wasn't released until 2004.
But his first track he did with Rodney Jerkins was indeed "We've Had Enough".

;)

Re: New Song Snippet - Another Day Featuring Lenny Kravitz (Merged)

Oh God , how can you even say "clearly unacceptable", man you got to know one little thing and that is: YOU ARE NOT MICHAEL JACKSON, sorry, is just you arent, therefor you cannot speak for him....
Sorry, but you sound like one of those people stocked on the Thriller era (which is excelent) but but but, Michael was a GENIUS, he was constantly working, creating OTHER STUFF APART OF THRILLER....
Michael himself said Invincible was better than Thriller...
*
and and and , when Michael says "acceptable" im afraid he was not saying it in the way you say it... he was a CREATOR, he was not negative, he was a perfectionist, even if what he did was excelent, he would call it acceptable(like he did), he himself said he was NEVER SATISFIED... thats why he was Michael Jackson...
*

well Michael said so, :) and I BELIEVE IT

Er... Contradiction anyone?

On the one hand:

*"you got to know one little thing and that is: YOU ARE NOT MICHAEL JACKSON, sorry, is just you arent, therefor you cannot speak for him...."

And then:

"when Michael says "acceptable" im afraid he was not saying it in the way you say it"

So I can't decipher what Michael meant but you can? Give me a break.

If Michael honestly believed that Invincible was better than Thriller then he was seriously deluded. That's like some 'fans' claiming that the majority mimed HIStory tour was better than the majority live BAD tour.*

Invincible is a weak album. So, by default, any songs that didn't make the cut can be judged accordingly.

'Fans' can try to bully me all they want - 'it's like you've forgotten he passed away' - but I'm as entitled to my opinion. It's a terrible record IMHO. It's just a lot of noise, bereft of real instrumentation, melody or, even, a hook.*

I'm a Michael Jackson fan. That doesn't mean I signed up to like EVERY little thing his voice is featured on. If that's what being a fan means to you, then good for you. It doesn't mean that for me.

If this was the only song Michael released, would it elevate him above his contemporaries? Categorically NO. If DSTYG was the only song he released,*would it elevate him above his contemporaries? Yes.

Re: New Song Snippet - Another Day Featuring Lenny Kravitz (Merged)

This is same version as we had, just poor try to remove the dj voice!

Didnt think that from you korgnex :D
you as a CDQ specialist who is always talking about cristal clear sound ^^

Dont download that version!

Just BAD EDITING! and ripped from Youtube ^^

Re: New Song Snippet - Another Day Featuring Lenny Kravitz (Merged)

Oh my God.....I don't even care from when it is....Michael sounds simply amazing.... :(

I don't understand how these songs surface. We get a random snippet every now and then and, after a few weeks, everything is forgotten.

Who's the puppet-master pulling the strings?

Re: New Song Snippet - Another Day Featuring Lenny Kravitz (Merged)

MJ5 : But with this version the voice from Lenny is more powerful ! Listen the beginning of chorus !!

Re: New Song Snippet - Another Day Featuring Lenny Kravitz (Merged)

Invincible is a weak album. So, by default, any songs that didn't make the cut can be judged accordingly.

Was this sarcasm? Because if it was not sarcasm, then you have some warped ideas as to taste. One man's rubbish is another man's gold. Just because a song did not make a 'weak' (by your definition) album does not mean it's in itself inferior. We've had Enough, Xscape and even Another Day sound great.

Re: New Song Snippet - Another Day Featuring Lenny Kravitz (Merged)

@ MJ5: very rude and pointless comment

if you prefer listening to the DJs instead, fine...

The person who has 'warped ideas' about taste is the person who believes that everyone should have the same taste.

The songs you've mentioned - none of them hold a candle to songs from Michael's golden period.

Re: New Song Snippet - Another Day Featuring Lenny Kravitz (Merged)

I like Korgnex's work. How better can it get.MJ5 please don't look always for something impossable.

Re: New Song Snippet - Another Day Featuring Lenny Kravitz (Merged)

Re: New Song Snippet - Another Day Featuring Lenny Kravitz (Merged)

Just a little note here about INVINCIBLE.

Many people are influenced by the media hype. Thriller indeed was a revolutionary album thanks to the new sound, the original concept of a video story like Thriller and Beat it. The moonwalk, etc. Also, when Michael had his hair and head burned during the pepsi commercial, everyone thought he was going to die, so that event boosted record sales.

However, don't get fooled by the hype created by the media, that is to say not much hype during INVINCIBLE era. INVINCIBLE was so badly promoted that it gave impression that it was a weak album. Without much promotion it sold 7 000 000 albums the first year (with only one video at that time - YRMW).

Now imagine if there were videos for other songs. Can you only imagine the video for THREATENED? I believe that many new fans even don't know the guy speaking in the beginning of the song, but it comes from a cult series TWILIGHT ZONE from the 80s. Can you only imagine how 2000 WATTS video could look like - electrifying! Michael had a lot of ideas and probably to do things in 3-D, which SONY refused due to the high costs michael's ideas demanded.

When Michael writes a song, he does more than that, he visualizes it, and without a proper video our imagination is WEAK!

What if THRILLER video was simply sang without any dance or story, the same for BEAT IT, don't you think that THRILLER too could have been a weak album? What if there was no moonwalk during BILLIE JEAN performance? I bet those songs would still eb great, but not as much as what Michael made us see! He made us visualize his music, and unfortunately he didn't have that opportunity with INVINCIBLE.

Re: New Song Snippet - Another Day Featuring Lenny Kravitz (Merged)

The person who has 'warped ideas' about taste is the person who believes that everyone should have the same taste.

The songs you've mentioned - none of them hold a candle to songs from Michael's golden period.

I prefer the songs you don't like over any song recorded before Dangerous. I don't think his 70's/80's work is as strong as 90's - present. The true essence of MJ is HIStory imo, and I wouldn't even dare to compare it with OTW. 90's Michael is the essence of perfection in music.

Just a matter of opinion.

I soo wanted to hear some of the tracks from the Invincible sessions for years! I'm glad we finally have the chance. They're awesome.

Re: New Song Snippet - Another Day Featuring Lenny Kravitz (Merged)

Oooh nice.

0.00 -0.20 sounds like something I've heard before..?

Did someone here say Lenny had used this song with someone else?

Looking forward to the full thing.

Stop being so negative!!! Please!

Fans are grateful that we have new, unheard and unreleased songs of Michael. He is no longer here and sadly, WE the fans are holding onto hope of new songs being released.

I am not going to get into petty arguments as to whether the new songs are as a good as his work in the 70's and 80's - why bother??

You can see the excitement in this thread at the mere sound of hearing Michael's voice - the one voice which is no longer with us.

If you wish to start posting away how this song isn't so good then please stop right there. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but i do not want to see this thread soured by you saying the song is crap.

I would have brushed it under the carpet last year if this song was released and i read a comment such as yours but since it has been 6 months since we lost Michael, i am not in the mood to hear fans bash any new material which we are so lucky to even hear.

Some fans are never satisfied or are too hard to please.

Onto the song - love it! I can't wait to hear the full version.

Me too...

In 2001 was issued a (French) Black or White fan mag, and reported about the collaboration between MJ and Lenny about the songs for Mjs Invincible album.
Lenny confirmed that song in a 2004 Blender article, Lenny described the work with MJ as amazing and Michael as a great father and that Michael recorded the vocals within 3 days; but the song has never been completely edited.

Actually if you read my post, I said that 'one man's rubbish is another man's gold'. What you said - which was WRONG - was that anything which did not make Invincible must be weak because, in your opinion, Invincible was weak. That is a ridiculous statement. It's fine to think that Invincible was a weak album, but what you are saying is that any song which did not make Invincible must be weak by definition. That sir is crazy. :bugeyed

Re: New Song Snippet - Another Day Featuring Lenny Kravitz (Merged)

It seems that people have a erroneous idea about outtakes. It is not because a song has been taken out of the album that it means that it is a bad song. When you make an album you make it so that it is coherent. even though Michael puts different styles on is album, the transfers from one song to another on the album must be smooth, giving the album what it is -- an album! Not necessarily a random compilation of his best songs. That's why he kept many songs in the "fridge" and put them afterwards.

For example "beat it" was written in before Off the wall came out, but was not included on off the wall. Earth song was written probably before Dangerous came out, but it cam out only on History, etc.

So all the outtakes we will hear, were probably meant to end on one of the future albums with probably other new songs. All in all, we should stop believing that an outtake is a synonym for bad material.
