I know i should probably know this already, but i don't get on line as much as i want due to lack of net so don't have time to research everything. But what is the Reputation about? I get things appeer at the bottom of my subscriptions list, but am not sure what they mean, or how i can thank/reply to the users who post them. help please =)
 
Reputation shows your posts are good, or bad when you received some bad reputation
You can rep someone if you think he/she made a good post by pushing on the thumb icon.
To see reputation you can go to User CP in the left corner, there you see if you received reputation, where you received it and why, users can leave a message..
 
But how many points have you got to get to get an extra green light on the bottom of your avatar?
 
The amount of green bars you get depends on rep points. Here's a chart explaining it:

What I dont get is I know someone who has only got 500 posts and has got all the green bars. How is this possible?:unsure:

You have to be a donator in order to have the option to give bad rep.

Reputation = giving someone respect for their posts.
If someone has only 500 posts, it means he/she has very good posts which people like.
You don't need to have 10.000 posts to have alot of reputation, those who put efforts in their posts, shall be rewarded.

How is that fair? "ur only allowed an opinion if u pay" is basically what ur saying. And i cannot afford to donate. There are a lot of post's i really don't agree with, or where ppl have been rude to me or others, and i can't let them know without being publicly rude, which will get me bad rep or worse, a ban.
 
Send a PM? To be honest, bad rep is something that's given very rarely, even when it was a feature open to everyone. If you really want the feature then let us know and we'll see what we can do.
 
tbh, i only really wanted it once because someone gave me bad rep over something pathetic and i just wanted to do it bk. I'm not really bothered either way as it works the same on any site. Friends will always rep each other, even when the post is crap, as its what they do, so the reputation bar is irrelevant to me anyway.
 
That's fair enough, like you say that's just the way it goes. :)

You wanting to give bad rep as revenge is an abuse of the system. And like I said to you in private, I believe I had a very good reason. I am not the only one who feels this way to be brutally honest. I suggest choosing your words more wisely as to not offend people in the future and risk getting more bad rep.

Yes, you believe, but Buds also believes justice can be done be taking revenge.
I am not here to judge, but I'm only express my opinion, if you think you can do something, then expect something back. I never give bad reputation, if I think the person is using words I disagree, then I express my opinion and in the worst scenario, I pm a mod.

The rep system is already failing btw.
Oh and people, remember, the green bars show you are loved here, but don't show you how much fan you are. Everyone is equal and everyone expresses their opinion differently, so everyone has a different view in this world. Discussions are sometimes hard, painful, but that's the reality.
You can be a great Michael fan, even if you have red bars.
 
You know, it's just supposed to be fun and a way to cheer someone up by giving them rep? That's all.
 
I was wondering, is a "given reputation points history" available ? Sometimes i give someone rep and the person thanks me referring to the comment i wrote giving the rep points but because of my bad memory, sometimes i'm sitting thinking "the hell is she/he talking about ?" because i can't remember what i wrote in the comment.

Since this topic about reputation is still open, I was just out of curiosity wondering:

Why do I for every rep get different points?
For instance: sometimes I get 5 points, sometimes 30 points, etc.
