Not sure, if there's already a thread like this, but if there is, mods please feel free to get rid of it.

Am I the only one who feels really bad and even a little mad when MJ goes out for the day to shop or something and he ends up COMPLETELY MOBBED by his own fans? I mean, with the media, I can understand. They have no concept of "privacy" But come on. Some fans should REALLY know better. And I'm not saying all of us are like that, but the ones who do that just really tick me off. If we all love him so much and respect him, we should give him his space and let him get on with his business without all the hassle. Sorry.lol Just wanted to get that spleen venting out of the way :flowers:

Michael is not just mobbed by the fans, he is mobbed by the general public. The scene that we saw in vegas when he was out with Paris on her birthday was not from fans, they were from the public. What you saw on the video was not MJ fans they were from the public. I don't know why some fans try to make MJ fans look bad as if they are the only ones who want to get near michael They are not,. Everybody is a Michael Jackson fan.

o/t Datsy, what video are you talking about?

People being around Michael is nothing bad at all cause he's used to it and it's always been like that and always will be eg, in vegas for Paris's b-day, nothing wrong there.

But to go crazy eg, london 2006 i think it was, is just really scary and dangerous for Michael and everyone else around.

Well think about it like this.

An individual fan is not thinking about it as a "mobbing" of Michael Jackson (or any other celebrity they are a fan of).

They are just thinking of it as...this is my only chance in the world to possibly meet and maybe even get an autograph from this person that I admire.

They're not thinking or really caring that there are one hundred other people doing the same thing--thus creating a "mob" effect. They just want to meet/touch/talk to/look at (lol) the celebrity. It's all just love (from the fans).

I'm sure most of the fans mean no harm...they're just not thinking it's that deep or serious at the time.

Honestly, Mike should be used to it by now. If he didn't want to be in this industry he should have stopped while he was a head...people would have forgotten about him eventually and he could have been just another everyday person who had a few hits back in his day when he was a kid, working a normal job (lol I bet!).

Just my two cents.

Erm, what makes you think the "general public" that surround him are not fans? :p

On one hand it sucks that he can't go out in peace. On the other hand it's probably going to be the fan's one opportunity to meet Michael Jackson in their life. For MJ it's the same thing every time, for the fan it's the one time. It's not like the fan can hang back while MJ's shopping and then hang with him later when he's less busy.

On the matter of people always wanting a piece of you when you're walking on the street, I'm gonna just have to say that's one price of fame you just gotta deal with without whining.

Personally, if I saw MJ shopping or something, I'd go up to him. Same answer probably applies for everyone else inside the store, which is why people like him gotta be secret op.

I don't like how Obsessed some fans are some of them should be locked up in a mental home  theres more to life than Michael Jackson get out there and live it i'm sure thats what would want his fans to do insted of sitting in day in day out listening to his Music constantly and posting on forums all the time

See my view is I can see both sides, MJ is not an out there kind of person so the sightings are very very rare so to a certain degree I can understand the wanting to get a glimps of their idol at any chance given, however it does to frustrate me that they feel they have the right to invade him like he owes them a peice of him,

So in all the while both sides of the coin do have justification what we need to do as responsible people is weigh up the pro's and cons of our actions,

My personal frustration is there is fans that go and see him that are agreesive and angry and have no compasion for anything or anyone around them, those types I have to question their fandome.

A lot of the fans scare me actually lol. I often wonder what MJ REALLY thinks about some of his fans tho? Because he's always so nice about it even when some of them tend to get overzealous. He must find find some of the fans to be annoying and stifling sometimes I bet.

I can kind of see where you're coming from on that, LovelyOne and that makes sense. But I also think that if you really just want to see or interact with someone you admire like that, can't you just look from a distance, or wave from across the street? I think it's awesome that so many fans want to show MJ how much they appreciate him, but I still don't think invading his personal space is the right way to go about it. So I agree AND disagree.

thank you. the effect that MJ has on people is bigger than a swipe like this that one person can take at another. and by the way, it helps answer a lot of other questions about the success rate of MJ.

they scare me too some of them.

i have a dream that fans were more gentle kind and polite when they saw
icon12.gif
Michael. i dont diagree with screaming but witrh medium volume!!!! not so piercing one because screaming is a sign of excitment and cool. but it's scary that they do anything just to get a glimpse of him and they don't think what they do might be dangerous specially to
icon12.gif
Michael.

i think his health ( i mean not getting harmed, or hurt) and security must be a priority for/to fans, then getting a glimpse of him.

by mobbing him
icon12.gif
Michael wont feel loved or supported, it just scares him and the distance between him and us becomes larger/bigger.

i wish we could make his dream come true, to walk in streets like a ordinary man by repulsing paparaz and media!!!!!!

Then you should probably be scared of me!

Some of you here have had the chance to at LEAST see him in concert, I've never had that chance and if I saw him I think I'd pass out or cry like a baby! ^_^

I think Michael knows that his fans love him and they're not trying to hurt him, just trying to get close to catch a glimpse.

lol....this is the mania section....there are fans that prove that there is a MJ mania..

if there wasn't..then MJ would be classed as being over and done...and even with the mania, there are some who say he is....

lol..damned if u do...damned if u don't....

I still don't know. I mean, I've never seen him in person either, and I was only 12 when he did his final world tour, but I just think I would feel too guilty to walk up to him and bother him like that. But that's just me.
