There are people who genuinely need support and since this support section is closing down, these members decided to create a support forum with information and resources. And of course to keep in contact with one another.

I'll be visiting as often as I can, I received so much wonderful support when I was hurting, I hope I can give at least some of it back.

MJJSanctuary will be for members of MJJC who feel they need support and guidance that they have recieved from members in the MJJC support forum now that it is closing down. However, although run my members of MJJC, it is not affiliated in any way.

This Forum will be for people who feel they need support after michaels passing, and run by MJJC members who wish to help them through this. If you are neither of these things, then it is a forum that will not be of interest to you. MJJSanctuary is open to those who need someone to talk to, and those who genuinely care. Any abuse, encouragement of unhealthy behavior or disrespect shown to its users and administrators will not be tolerated. Although all are welcome, please respect that we are dealing with sensitive issues and if you were not in agreement with the MJJC Support forum, this will not be the place for you. The forum only accessible by members to ensure the privacy and protection of those using the facility, and all registrations will be activated by staff.

MJJSanctuary is a Peer to Peer Support forum, and does not in anyway replace professional support some users may need... it is run by caring people whos primary aim is help those around us through a difficult time, however, where professional medical care is felt to be needed, owners and administrators understand that this is at the responsibility of the individual members and cannot accept responsibility this specialist guidance not being sought.

The decision to close the Support Forum was made by MJJC staff, but not necessarily by those who post here. Although Gary offered to make a Blog site for these folks, ultimately they decided to go with the message board format and have created their own site. Some people here have come to know each other for awhile now. As it turns out, the new board is not MJJC affiliated.

We don't really know what else is going on in people's lives, in addition to the grief some still feel at Michael's passing. The board will provide people to talk to, who are kind.

Totally agree with this. I was named a moderator of the new forum, so I will get together with the admins Nova and Thrillerchild to compile a list of everyone we can think of who we should reach out to who has not already signed up. We will do this through PM to be private of course. Thanks for the reminder.
 
I'd like to register too please, under the same user name. And Victoria, you surely can't be as old as me. Lets just say I remember going without school dinners for a couple of days so I could buy the single Ben....
But Michael music knows no boundaries right!

just a suggestion...
I think you should publish that "Finding meaning in the tragedy" article in the new forum, I know for a fact many people have found it very consoling. I keep going back to it when it starts hurting again, and I got it saved but I think it would be beneficial to have it on the new forum as well. :)

I will register under Michelle MC. Dumb question that I probably don't need to ask, but if I register will I be expected to post? As I always love coming on here, so the fact that I belong to a new forum might escape my mind.

I'm really not trying to start anything, but Dutchie and I have pmed back and forth and she is not a disrespectful person.
People grieve in different ways. I have picked up that Dutchie's way was more of a quiet way. She is having a hard time too.

Of course you don't have to post -- please participate in whichever way will be most helpful for you. See you over there (and here at MJJC too of course!)

Hi Michelle,

I had not for a second thought that her original post was disrespectful in any way at all!

I apolgise a million times if you took the tone of that post to appear that way, my only intention was to ensure members understand the purpose of MJJSanctuary.

Anyone joining the forum please let me know either here or via PM what your chosen usernames are. This is essential in keeping out trolls from the support forum. All accounts have to be activated by the admin after you've registered, so we need to know who you are.
